14/08/2025: Nice little place overlooking Piazza San Michele, the guys at the bar are nice and kind.

04/08/2025: Incredible spot for lunch, super affordable, quick service, and a great daily menu. We came a few times and tried the farro, couscous, nettle gnocchi, and Caesar salad. The highlight for me was definitely the nettle gnocchi, something special I haven’t seen anywhere else. Also, they bring out a homemade black focaccia with every meal and it’s seriously delicious.

04/03/2025: I went in by chance and decided to have an ice cream – and I was satisfied. It was really good and I really liked it. Usually, in winter, when ice cream is bought less often, preservatives are added that affect its flavor. I didn't notice anything like that here: everything was fresh and natural. Price: €3.50 for 3 flavours.

21/02/2025: Ottimi prodotti, in alcuni gusti senza latte è possibile assaporare il naturale gusto, come per pistacchio, nocciola e cioccolato senza latte. Poi la cosa sorprendente è stata la gentilezza, il titolare si è tenuto il cono in mano durante il pagamento, mentre in genere ti lasciano con gelato, resto e portafogli.

26/07/2025: Excellent classic pastry shop. The girls are very kind, know how to smile, and make excellent coffee. The location, while central and convenient, is a bit out of the way, protecting it from the crowds of flip-flop-wearing tourists. Highly recommended.

03/08/2025: After leaving our studio, we stopped for lunch at the Bistrot del Bagno Buonamici, since we hadn't tried it yet and given the excellent reviews. The evening didn't go as I'd hoped: the food was good, but the appetizer arrived with a clearly chipped plate. I pointed this out to the waitress, and she replied, "Yes, I saw that," so change it before bringing it to the table. Then my husband ate the first course, and I... No, it arrived after he'd finished eating. When I asked why my plate hadn't arrived, they simply replied, "They're doing it." When it arrived, no one apologized for the inconvenience. I thought it was fair to apologize, but the young waitress didn't say a word. Tiramisu. Stop calling a dessert made exclusively of cream, cocoa powder, and coffee a tiramisu. What's so tiramisu about? Besides, it even said "Classic." All this delay in bringing me the spaghetti, after my husband had finished it, the plate visibly chipped, on an evening with only six tables occupied, only one with four people, the rest for two. Unfortunately, service like this penalizes everything else.

02/08/2025: After years of going, today I was very disappointed. Even though they had free seats, they put us in an Angola al sole. We ordered a mum rouge, a bottle for 90 euros, two raw fish for 40 euros, and a fried fish! The raw fish arrived and were really ugly, not well-prepared: two scampi, two small and dry tartars, four large prawns, and two oysters. I mentioned the matter, and the girl (the owner, I believe), instead of mediating and admitting that it wasn't really worth more than 25 euros, treated us terribly. It's not about the price, but when I spend money, I want quality, and there it dropped dramatically! I won't set foot in there again.

31/07/2025: A small place in the heart of Lucca, but with tables available in the square. It offers a selection of delicious, freshly made sandwiches. Good value. Recommended for a quick lunch. The beers are pretty good.

30/07/2025: Very friendly staff and delicious sandwiches with specialty meats from the region! The spritzes were also refreshing. The terrace is nicely located next to a square. Go here for an authentic local aperitvo vibe.

01/06/2025: Great pub, it feels like taking a dive into the past, those who lived their childhood between the 80s and 90s, here find the old emotions. Fantastic food, the owner prepares the bread, grinds the various hinges to prepare his Hamburger and the beers and spirits are truly excellent. Really recommended! Ps. Great location for bikers!

19/08/2025: On Sunday evening, returning from the beach, I bought five arancini (two with ragù and peas, and three with ham and mozzarella), one scamorza and salami croquette, potato croquettes for the kids, and a calzone. Excellent value for money. Superlatives, nothing more to add.

14/08/2025: The bruschetta was rock-hard and lacked any onions, etc., just two slices of tomato on cold, rock-hard bread. The pizza wasn't truly Italian: too much cheese, the crust too thick. The young waitress was unmotivated and rude. Overall, not a good experience—a shame.

Street gourmet with a devastating selection of raw materials and decidedly generous dishes + strategic position with a pine forest and the sea just a stone's throw away (the "Gola" sandwich is in the top 3 of my life). At Marco you can enjoy yourself and it's always a pleasure to chat. Absolute King
