03/07/2025: Fantastic news! The restoration work on the Cappella Del Giglio-Neri has been completed. The conservation work focused on the interior decorations, bringing to light the frescoes painted by Bernardino Poccetti, born Bernardo Barbatelli, an artist active between the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century. The pictorial cycle is organized into three main elements: the Coronation of Mary, the stories of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, founder of the Cistercian order, and those of Philip Neri, depicted even before his canonization, which took place in 1622. The central nucleus of the figurative expression is present in the dome, where Bernardino Poccetti painted a lively scene of the Coronation of Mary surrounded by a crowded group of joyful and happy saints. This pictorial representation was created in a period of transition between the Counter-Reformation and the Baroque, in which the devotional and celebratory practices of the patronal Neri family were placed at a point of balance in the artist's lively expressive narrative.

11/05/2025: The church is currently undergoing conservative restoration and the little that has been seen of the interior allows us to imagine the great beauty for those lucky enough to be able to visit it when the works are finished.

19/08/2025: Pre-cooked and frozen foods, expensive bill (€99.50 for two appetizers and two first courses). Watery and overcooked risotto, frozen fish, octopus with frozen potatoes. The place is infested with mosquitoes and full of screaming children. Highly not recommended if you...

16/08/2025: Incredible fine dining experience. Impeccable attention to detail with the food and service. I wish I could have had 4x the fagiolini spaghetti with rosemary and bay leaf “fairy” dust. Ambiance dining amongst the 4 walls of a castle is unparalleled. Service ten stars. Wonderful final dinner to finish our time in Tuscany. Enjoy every moment created amongst the Tuscan stars.

13/07/2025: AMAZING EXPERIENCE Antonio Iacoviello was Head Chef at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura for four years, a restaurant that earned a Michelin star just a few months after opening. He's now embarked on a new gastronomic adventure at Ristorante Il Pievano, located inside Spaltenna Castle, where we dined last night. We chose the chef's freehand tasting menu, where his extensive experience and expertise shine through, offering dishes with an incredible balance of flavors. Compliments to the dining room staff for their expertise and passion. A MUST TRY

08/09/2025: The food was quite good but I don't know if I would go back. It wasn't really typical Mexican food, the flavours were very similar to Spanish cuisine, also because the typical dish was paella.

27/08/2025: Well... The chili meat... It seemed more like boiled meat... The paella tasted of little... Just rice... the taste of the sea... There wasn't any! Disappointed by the chili... And unfortunately it was an evening with mosquitoes... They weren't even equipped with mosquito coils... And being told that it wasn't their fault... And he couldn't do anything about it... Nothing... But the customer should feel comfortable at the table... HE PAYS TO EAT!!!

25/07/2025: I've been coming to Capalbio for 37 years, and Stefano's management is the best. The staff is also sensitive to the concerns of elderly people with hearing disabilities like me and other friends of mine who enjoy visiting. Everything is delicious, and the service is highly professional and kind. Congratulations!

24/03/2025: Non posso fare una recensione sul cibo, però posso dire che sono stati veramente scortesi, perchè dopo aver telefonato più volte per confermare prenotazione inviato messaggi, arrivati davanti al ristorante di sabato sera alle 20:00 ristorante chiuso, ci possono essere milioni di motivi per tenere chiuso, ma obbligo avvertire le persone con la prenotazione, comportamento non accettabile, senza alcun rispetto.

14/09/2025: The best thing I ate in Italy! Delicious homemade food, wonderful family service, everything was perfect!

07/09/2025: The evening was widely advertised on Facebook. The poster didn't mention the entrance fee, so we called. It was 12:31 PM, and a lady told us the event was free and that you only paid for drinks. We showed up at 10 PM and they were asking for 25 euros each! Shocked, we asked for an explanation, and she dismissed us with, "You think I'm putting on a night worth thousands of euros for free?" We were there, having traveled 50 km, so we went in and exchanged 25 euros for a cardboard coupon that could be used for drinks. The area in front of the stage was so badly damaged that a girl fell badly, hurting her foot. There must have been about 150 people in total, a tenth of the venue's capacity. The music, played by famous DJs, was excellent! It's a shame they had no audience.

07/08/2025: We had a fantastic evening at Da Alighiero. I don't know when I was last treated with such warmth and ease. There were seven of us (and two dogs, who were also very well looked after), and we were able to "cover" a wide selection of the menu. To sum it up: Everything was delicious, great products, and some dishes were a little off the beaten track. From the bean soup to the amazing homemade orecchiette, bisteca, pork fillet, and the final desserts. There was something for everyone, and even our children, who usually respond with "it's okay" when asked if something tastes good, were full of praise. Simply wonderful, well-crafted, creative dishes with no frills. The recommended wines (there's something for everyone there, too; there's no wine list, but the bottles are displayed in cabinets for you to view and choose from – a very nice idea) were such a good match that we were happy to buy a few more bottles. When do you ever get the chance to buy aged wines at a fair price?! We had a relaxed and enjoyable evening in a very pleasant atmosphere and would recommend everyone to see for themselves. The restaurant is definitely a highlight in our opinion.
