09/08/2026: Unfortunately, it's not the Midolo of the past. The spinach arancini had very little spinach and the pistachio arancini had no pistachios. The ragù wasn't very good, a big disappointment!

28/07/2026: Restaurant near Ortigia, away from the tourist crowds. All the dishes we tried were very good, especially the spaghetti carbonara; one of the best we have eaten! It is worth noting that the octopus was very well cooked and the pistachio pesto was noticeable that it was homemade and made on the spot. Friendly and polite staff, always ready to help. We liked it so much that we went back shortly after to repeat! Highly recommended if you are in the area!

27/07/2026: I ate at Alle Volte for the first time months ago (I've been going there for years for breakfast or a drink). My first lunch was disappointing: I received a raw and rubbery steak, which is why I rightly left a very negative review at first. I returned a month later for an aperitivo; both the cocktails and the food were excellent. This Saturday I had lunch for my birthday with a poké: exceptional. Mistakes can happen, but it's the very helpful and courteous staff that makes the difference when setbacks arise. Congratulations!

29/05/2026: We had dinner this evening at La Trota, and overall, the experience was excellent. Starting with the food, both my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the tagliolini and carbonara. We also had the opportunity to try three appetizers (bruschetta with dried and grated trout, trout carpaccio, and hot-smoked trout with mayonnaise). The appetizers were excellent. The gin and juniper-marinated carpaccio is highly recommended. We finished with trout in Saor, which was slightly too salty (personal opinion), but the combination of trout, onion, raisins, and pine nuts really impressed me. The dessert was also good, as was the carob and persimmon combination. The location is charming; you eat in a cave. A special thanks to Corrado for his kindness and exceptional attention to service, and, of course, for the appetizer samples. Unfortunately, we live quite far away, but we'll try to return. Considering the quality of the ingredients and the sophisticated pairings, the price for dinner was very fair.

02/08/2026: Leticia is such a beautiful host and owner. Every dish we ordered was amazing and the atmosphere and music at the restaurant was great for a nice Sicilian summer evening. It’s the second time in two years I have dined there and I look forward to returning next year.

21/07/2026: We, a family with two children, cannot understand the hype and the many positive reviews of this restaurant. We ordered several thin flatbreads, two with Nutella for the children and others with mozzarella and tomatoes, a small appetizer platter with some grilled vegetables, mozzarella, and tomatoes, and four soft drinks. For this, we paid around €70. Compared to our recent experiences in the area, it was a complete flop. By Sicilian standards, neither the quality, taste, nor portion size justified the price. The value for money is simply poor. The staff were friendly and spoke English. However, this doesn't change the fact that the food, portions, and price were completely disproportionate. We left disappointed and cannot understand the positive reviews.

03/08/2026: A must-see in Syracuse: spectacular arancini! We had four: alla norma; pistachio; ragù; and butter. The filling was incredible, and the frying was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

07/08/2026: This place is fantastic! We had the fish of the day, the tuna and the seafood pasta. Every dish was fantastic and fresh. The service was super attentive and personal. It’s not a very flashy place, and it wasn’t full when we were there, but it was the best meal I’ve had in Italy you should go!

02/08/2026: I found this place on Google and it was a pleasant surprise! The restaurant is very cute and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly kind. We had paccheri with swordfish and pistachios, while I opted for the catch of the day: grilled swordfish with baked potatoes and an orange and almond salad. Everything was excellent! Highly recommended :)

19/05/2026: Excellent pizzeria. Pizzas are €8 to €10 and they're delicious, I'd even say exceptional. The icing on the cake is the incredible wine; the glass is inexpensive, and the amount served when you order a glass is probably close to double what you'd get in France. It's served at the perfect temperature, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they even offered me a complimentary digestif (limoncello). Absolutely perfect, I recommend it 100%.

28/06/2026: Mordi e Gusta in Pachino is one of those authentic, no-frills places where you can eat very well and pay very little. The horse meat is superb, with a special mention for the horse meatball: truly extraordinary. The setting is simple and picturesque, a small truck with plastic tables and chairs, but that's the beauty: it's not a place built for tourists; it's authentic, popular, and filled with real people. The guys who run it are extremely helpful, very friendly, and make you feel immediately at ease. Congratulations indeed: when substance beats form, this is the result.
