03/08/2026: Super, super, super...that's what a restaurant should always offer its customers. Excellent cuisine, in terms of flavors, use of seasonings, quantity, and presentation...the atmosphere is perfect, with subdued, relaxing lighting and music...perfect table service with professional and friendly waiters...what can I say? If you're passing through Syracuse, you can't miss the meat shop...the prices are excellent too. If you're an oyster lover, you'll really appreciate their selection...I assure you, it's worth a visit, even two, three, four...

20/07/2026: From my experience, one of the best restaurants in Ortigia. The ingridients were always fresh and overall very tasty. I really recommend this place to anyone looking for great food as well as extraordinary service. During our stay, we got quite close to one of the waitresses, Daniella. We really want to thank for the atmosphere she provided us. We love you!

07/06/2026: Three of us dined at Osteria Bazan, and the experience was excellent in every way. From the first moment, you can sense the family atmosphere of the place: the wife welcomes and serves tables with great kindness and professionalism, while the husband works in the kitchen with his assistant. This creates a warm and authentic atmosphere that makes you feel at home and conveys trust, attention, and care in every dish served. The menu isn't particularly long, but that's one of its strengths: a few well-thought-out options, with a pleasant mix of seafood and meat. We chose fish and decided to sample several of the house specialties. For our appetizer, we tried the fried mussels, a real discovery. These aren't the classic mussels au gratin with breadcrumbs, but rather mussels that are first cleaned and cooked, then lightly floured and fried. The result is surprising: crisp, light, and not at all greasy. An original and truly successful appetizer. We then shared two first courses. The spaghetti alla siracusana was excellent: a traditional recipe, perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of anchovies and breadcrumbs, without being heavy. The presentation was meticulous, and the flavors harmoniously blended. The fettuccine with swordfish was also very good, made with high-quality artisanal pasta. The creaminess was perfect, and each ingredient enhanced the dish without overpowering the others. For main courses, we followed the owner's advice and chose two dishes of the day: seared tuna and tuna belly. The tuna was simply spectacular: incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, soft and almost buttery inside. One of the best I've ever eaten. The belly, served with onion and olives, was equally excellent. A richer and more distinctive cut than the classic tuna fillet, prepared with great balance and flavor. A dish that should be appreciated for its personality, but one that won us over. To conclude, we enjoyed an almond semifreddo, fresh, delicate, and the perfect way to end the meal, leaving a pleasant sensation of lightness. We accompanied our dinner with an excellent "Akram" Chardonnay from Terre Siciliane, which proved to be an excellent pairing with the dishes we chose. The restaurant is intimate and welcoming, with just a few tables and a pleasant outdoor terrace that contributes to an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. We highly recommend this place to anyone seeking authentic Sicilian cuisine, excellent seafood, and a genuine welcome. A true family-run osteria, authentic and of great quality, we will definitely be back!

23/06/2026: Don't normally do Irish themed pubs when on holiday, but this wasn't your usual of that genre. Ahmed and Nicoletta were super hosts and gave up their time to chat to us and made the experience one to remember.

06/06/2026: A wonderful gem I stumbled upon while wandering through the narrow alleys of Syracuse. I’m already a big fan of Guinness on tap, but it paired so perfectly with the unique vibe and charm of Syracuse. The music was also fantastic! It was a truly memorable experience.

25/12/2025: A charming place with a family atmosphere. We arrived on Christmas Day, and Mrs. Ewa welcomed us right into her home. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and for dessert, we also tried the excellent homemade cheesecake and poppy seed cake. We highly recommend it and send our best regards!

23/11/2025: So this is a home kitchen, we stopped here on our way back from Cavagrande and I am so happy we did. It was after 7pm, so we were the only ones and their 4 super friendly dogs ❤️ some selection of pasta, Sicilian foods and fishes, the old guy - probably the owner who lives there - was super kind. There are pigs in the garden, local gatto, a wonderful experience to close our wonderful day. I had tagliatelle with ragu and my girlfriend gnocchi with mushroom, they were both delicious and heartwarming like from home.

01/08/2026: Excellent presentation of dishes and flavors. In many restaurants the offer is very similar, and Anchovies raises the bar higher. Prices are a little higher, but absolutely justified. Excellent wine and dessert. Maybe just a little more involvement of the waiters in communicating with guests, recommendations on what to choose .... in any case, definitely try it 🙂.

15/07/2026: Pizzolo was delicious. The staff were kind and professional. I didn't appreciate the room above where I dined. I don't like the fake plants and bricks in the wall. But that's my personal taste. Otherwise, I recommend it.

13/05/2026: Welcoming place, friendly and professional staff, excellent quality pastries, delicious cakes. The owner, Annarita, is helpful and friendly. Try it and believe it. The variety of products is amazing, and above all, the coffee is excellent! 😉

09/05/2026: I visited Sfizi e Capricci, a bar run by Lucia and Andrea, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and refined, perfect for both a quick break and a relaxing moment. The arancini are simply fantastic: crispy on the outside and tasty on the inside, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The cakes are sublime, fresh and made with great care, ideal for those who love well-made desserts. You can sense the passion Lucia and Andrea put into their work, and that really makes the difference. I highly recommend this place!

09/08/2026: Lunch. The staff was very good. We ate very well, but the portion sizes varied. My seafood pasta was generous and excellent. My son really enjoyed his pork ravioli, but the portion was definitely not enough for him... So, a mixed review...

07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery. I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation. Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer. Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.

31/05/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were blown away: the food was excellent: fresh fish cooked with care. The manager told us how the restaurant has been family-run for 50 years and is run according to tradition. Highly recommended!

07/06/2026: We arrived almost by chance as tourists with children and ate some truly excellent burgers!! All in all, the quality of the meat, the bread, and all the ingredients was top-notch! The kid-sized ones are a great idea. Being able to choose how you want the meat cooked is a real plus! Kudos!!

02/05/2026: Honestly, I can't explain all these positive reviews. It's total chaos, and they absolutely don't know how to manage it. We waited outside for a table, but they basically sat down with the first person to arrive, without anyone checking for priority. At one point, they tried to squeeze us into a table in front of the door: the place is tiny, and, as often happens here in Ortigia, they put tables everywhere without any sense of purpose to increase the number of people. It seems like a classic family-run place, in the worst sense of the word: lots of improvisation and zero organization. We stood in front of the cash register for several minutes, dodged by employees and customers in the general hustle and bustle, with no one paying attention to us. Perhaps the staff is too small for all those people, but the fact remains that we left without trying anything. A truly awful experience.
