07/05/2026: My experience at Locanda Del Collegio was overall positive, but there were a few things I felt could be improved. The location is pleasant, and the restaurant certainly has its charm, especially its location and tranquil atmosphere. The food was good, well-prepared, and made with quality ingredients. The dishes were tasty, and overall we enjoyed our meal. However, I wasn't entirely impressed with the outdoor area: the seating was rather uncomfortable and the tables were too small, especially if you ordered multiple courses or bottles of wine. This made the dinner less relaxing than it could have been. The service was also decent, although the staff seemed a bit pressured and at times inattentive. I would also have appreciated more knowledge of the wine list and more professional advice on choosing the right wine. Overall, I would still give it 4 stars because the food is good and the restaurant has potential, but there are some important details that need improvement to offer a truly complete experience.

27/04/2026: Excellent menu and beautifully cooked food. Local specialities. Seafood risotto, arancini and spaghetti with swordfish were outstanding. Good value also! 4 glasses house wine (excellent) and two x2 courses €80. Very very happy. Lovely atmosphere and not noisy. Great meal.

02/05/2026: Honestly, I can't explain all these positive reviews. It's total chaos, and they absolutely don't know how to manage it. We waited outside for a table, but they basically sat down with the first person to arrive, without anyone checking for priority. At one point, they tried to squeeze us into a table in front of the door: the place is tiny, and, as often happens here in Ortigia, they put tables everywhere without any sense of purpose to increase the number of people. It seems like a classic family-run place, in the worst sense of the word: lots of improvisation and zero organization. We stood in front of the cash register for several minutes, dodged by employees and customers in the general hustle and bustle, with no one paying attention to us. Perhaps the staff is too small for all those people, but the fact remains that we left without trying anything. A truly awful experience.

I loved the antique interior and atmosphere, so on my last day in Syracuse, I stopped by for one last drink on my way to Kichi Station! The only thing I gave the "ambience" rating 4 stars was the plaster on one section of the wall that absolutely needs to be redone. Otherwise, everything was fine!

28/03/2026: Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The bottled water we received appeared to contain impurities/bacteria, which we only noticed after being served and already drinking from it — something that is completely unacceptable. As for the food, the quality was very poor. The seafood pasta (with shrimp and clams) made me feel sick almost immediately after eating it. It tasted unpleasant and far from fresh. The pizza was burnt, and the grilled sea bream was served without any side dish at all, which was unexpected and underwhelming. Overall, the experience was disappointing both in terms of food quality and hygiene standards. I would not recommend this place.
