19/10/2025: It's a real shame that I haven't returned to this Turin restaurant in all these ten years, especially considering I live in Alessandria, even though we're only a few kilometers away! The meat is simply fantastic, tender and flavorful like you rarely find. The mushroom risotto is perfect, the raw meat, also with mushrooms, is also exceptional, and the pork tuna is truly remarkable. The first courses, carefully prepared and tasty, confirm the attention to quality and tradition. The impeccable, kind, and professional service completes an experience I still fondly remember. Special praise goes to the owner for his attentiveness and courtesy. This place truly deserves to be rediscovered.

27/07/2025: Quando attribuisco un voto negativo ad un ristorante sono sempre dispiaciuto , ma è giusto scrivere per far migliorare. Arriviamo alle 13.00 e ci fanno accomodare in una sala già completa : due grandi tavoli di una comitiva urlante , uno di signori francesi super rumorosi e qualche altro . Il frastuono incredibile è diventato lentamente una tortura. Non dico per parlare con i propri commensali, ma solo per evitare il mal di testa . Tempi lunghissimi di attesa tra le portate , a dire il vero mediocri . Amuse - bouche gradevoli , antipasti nella norma , agnolotti del plin senza carattere e dal sapore indefinito , come la guancia brasata di maiale veramente mediocre . Non abbiamo provato i dolci per il timore di dover attendere un’altra mezz’ora nel caos . Servizio approssimativo ( portano senza chiederci una bottiglia di acqua gasata e una naturale, si scordano del pane , del parmigiano da cospargere sulle tagliatelle….) Direi molto inferiore alle aspettative. Non tornerò.

11/09/2025: Many varieties of bread: I tried whole-wheat bocconcini (perhaps a little too whole-wheat for my taste), spaccatelle (good. Too bad they're oil-based...), and Sicilian bread with sesame seeds, like mafaldine (good). Friendly service. I'll try again.

18/10/2025: My "sixth sense" for culinary temples helps me choose a place in Dogliani. Saturday is dedicated to the Feminine Universe, in a birthday mood. My eye falls on the Locanda del Sorriso, for its location, setting, and...its title, which honors a rare commodity these days: smiling. Eleonora is a treasure among the tables, spontaneously eloquent, with a smile that perfectly embodies her pleasure in welcoming. The dining room is busy, but the decibel level is very low. The à la carte menu is rich yet essential, almost as if they want a minimum of concentration on the offerings, lest they run the risk of being distracted, a real disappointment in the kitchen. The veal with tuna sauce is a compelling color, and the veal tartare and sausage have the consistency of times past. The plin with gogonzola, a curious and well-chosen variation on the traditional version, thrills her wife. I step outside the box and order fried eggs topped with shaved truffles: are we in the Langhe, or aren't we? Dogliani is the DOCG denomination for the absolute best dessert: how could I not savor a glass of it, full-bodied and structured, yet with that typical elegance of flavor that characterizes a high-quality dessert? After a quick nod to the woman's birthday, the lady surprises us by serving the desserts with the lights off and a candle on my wife's portion. The chorus of diners (pure sharing, touching!) will be with us for a long time to come. The final touch is perfectly balanced, and it couldn't be otherwise, because if the smile worked as a "bait," it should remain, even after you've paid. Truly a satisfying experience in every way. I took the usual notes: I'll return without any ifs or buts...

06/10/2025: We had lunch at this Farmhouse on Sunday. What can I say, a truly positive experience! The owners opened their nest to us, making us feel part of the family. The welcome and service were excellent. The location is very well-maintained and welcoming. The menu is primarily plant-based, featuring products from the local garden; simple, yet beautifully prepared and presented. They collaborate with local businesses, promoting local products. Attention and research are the foundation of this omnivorous menu, with extreme care taken to accommodate the different needs/needs of guests (e.g., pregnant and/or vegetarian options). To sum up, we once again congratulate Carol and Francesco for this experience, which is well worth experiencing! See you soon! P.S. The bread baked by Carol is truly sublime! It's definitely worth ordering a loaf to go! 🌾
