01/09/2025: Excellent food and super friendly staff. Kudos to the chef for the dish of the day: cacio e pepe with shrimp and lime, which my husband ordered. It was a real surprise. The combination of cacio e pepe and lime was absolutely brilliant, and the flavors complemented each other perfectly. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. My fried fish was also excellent, fresh, and plentiful. Kudos to both the chef and the attentive, friendly staff. We'll definitely be back.

Every time I've made a reservation, I've been called a couple of hours before to be told the place is closed that day or rented for private events. Honestly, I'm starting to doubt it's just a restaurant.

13/08/2025: We were at this restaurant yesterday and what can I say? The food was truly excellent, the tuna was very fresh. We tried the tartare, carpaccio, and seared steak, all delicious. A special mention goes to the Spaghetti di Mamma Anna, which are truly spectacular! Highly recommended.

11/08/2025: We visited this restaurant for a romantic dinner, and despite booking at the last minute, the entire staff was completely available. We found the atmosphere to be very welcoming. We felt welcomed with great attention, and we immediately realized how much effort and passion goes into each dish. We tried the generous platter, with both cheeses and cured meats (it was hearty!), the very fresh and well-seasoned octopus salad, the delicious seafood spaghetti, the mixed fried fish (a delight!), and the very tasty octopus with chickpea cream. The contrast of the cream with the flavor of the octopus captivated our palates. The pizza, delicious, cooked in a wood-fired oven, has become the symbol of the Vertova Golden Lion! Every month, a new pizza shows so much passion for their craft. As for the desserts, we were absolutely delighted; there was a very kind young man who dedicated himself to the presentation of the dishes with particular attention to the smallest details. I've attached a few photos to demonstrate our satisfaction after the bill! Really competitive and honest prices. We've saved it among our favorite places and we're happy to return often 🥰❤️

09/08/2025: Il Pirata del Porto: the pasta was a bit of a challenge, but the sauce was a real treat A Pearl of the Sea in the Heart of Bologna I had the opportunity to dine at the "Il Pirata del Porto" restaurant in Bologna, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service courteous, making my stay immediately enjoyable. For my lunch, I opted for a classic, spaghetti allo scoglio, accompanied by water and coffee, for a final bill of €22.50. The portion was generous, and above all, the sauce was remarkable: a truly rich, flavorful seafood dish that fully met my expectations. Octopus, mussels, clams, shrimp, and even lobster blended together in a well-balanced sauce, making every bite a true pleasure. If I really had to find a small criticism, it was the pasta itself. While not bad, I found it slightly overcooked, lacking the perfect al dente consistency that best enhances a dish of this type. This is a minor sin, but it detracted from the overall experience. Overall, "Il Pirata del Porto" remains an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy quality seafood in Bologna. With a little improvement in the cooking of the pasta, the dish would have been truly perfect.

Here I found the absolute best pizza ever, and not only that... the good Giovanni, a histrionic character, pizza chef, host, and taste explorer, offers a true food and wine journey. 12/09/2025: Luna Sentada is a cute spot by a quiet canal, away from the crowds—a lovely place to relax. We chose it based on great reviews and photos, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The caprese salad lacked flavor, the beef ragù pasta was just okay, and while the sea bass was good, the tiramisu was a real letdown—runny and unset, the worst we had in Italy. Maybe we were just unlucky that night. Come here for a drink or a glass of wine and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
