08/10/2025: The worst food we ate in Italy. If I could I would rate it negative , it would be negative 10. The service wa fine, but the food is so disgusting. We did not want to finish our dishes , we barely ate anything. We assumed since they had “fresh “seafood on the display on ice, that they’d be using those fresh fish and other seafood. Omg. What they brought to us seemed like were cooked last week, not fresh at all. Only the look of the dish was horrible, we lost our appetite completely. But we still decided to try everything. it tasted even worse than it looked. Gooey pasta , yucky . It looked more like a soup, but pasty, just look at the picture

07/10/2025: Overall, I can only give it 5 stars...probably if I had to find fault, it would be the slightly above-average price. For four of us, we ate (as pictured) two courses of raw shrimp and scampi, one first course, two fried dishes, and one swordfish. Three desserts and one sorbet; wine, water, and a cover charge. But I understand that the location, time of year, and the ingredients significantly impact the total, and that's perfectly acceptable. If you book via Google, I recommend specifying a terrace table when booking, which unfortunately isn't clear in the booking process and alone makes up for the expense!

21/10/2025: I returned to my hometown, Crotone, for a weekend getaway, longing to enjoy good seafood in an authentic setting. After reading several reviews, I chose Piper, and I must say it was a perfect choice. As soon as we entered, Enzo, the host, welcomed us with that typical Crotone warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. The pasta is strictly handmade, and the menu varies depending on the day: a true guarantee of freshness. That day, they offered covatelli, a typical Crotone pasta, masterfully prepared with seafood sauce. A dish worth the visit alone. We started with a mixed seafood appetizer, rich in goodness and authentic flavors. I even tried anchovies, which I don't usually eat, but I really appreciated them there. Of course, we couldn't miss the "vrasciole" Crotonese, classic fried meatballs: both eggplant and meat, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. All washed down with an excellent rosé from the Cirò Marina area, a house wine of great quality. We enjoyed it so much that we returned in the evening: my son (15 months) immediately had access to the high chair and felt completely at ease. He again asked for the covatelli, this time with a simple sauce, while my wife and I chose two very fresh sea bass, cooked to perfection: soft, delicate, without excessive salt, a sign of careful and respectful preparation of the fish. For appetizers, this time, we opted for local cheeses and cured meats, which were also excellent. The prices are fair and proportionate to the quality of the products and the generous portions: not too high or too low, just right. Unfortunately, I return to Crotone less and less often, but of one thing I am certain: Piper will be my regular stop every time I return. 15/09/2025: A very elegant restaurant, with attention to detail and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was attentive and helpful from start to finish. We ordered four ossobuco with risotto and potatoes: tasty and beautifully presented. As a welcome treat, we were served some fried vegetables on the house, which were truly excellent. At the end, a complimentary dessert was also served with our coffee, which was very welcome. The prices aren't cheap, but considering the quality of the food, the service, and the cover charge, the bill was absolutely reasonable. An experience I highly recommend.

The service here is excellent, the food excellent, the bill absolutely fair, the location impeccable—I've been there countless times. In short, if you're looking for a good restaurant, you've found it.

27/10/2025: A restaurant hidden away at the end of an alley, a place that makes you want to turn around but from which you won't want to leave once you're inside. Very pleasant staff who seat you as if you've been there forever. Excellent pasta (vongole and seafood) and cacciucco livornese also excellent. Homemade desserts are a must-try. The cook comes around the tables to see if her cooking suits you. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return there on my next visit to Livorno.
