10/06/2025: Everything is excellent, from the glasses of wine, to the Russian with black truffle and bread net, to the abundant and light courgette flowers (yellow batter, mint, mango, burrata), to the breaded sanato, to the gianduiotto. Grissini rubatá with corn, bread and focaccia. Very extensive wine list and a lot of Sicilian-Piedmontese selection. Music needs to be reviewed as well as colours, furniture and paintings, decidedly old compared to the mood, despite the importance

06/06/2025: Everything was incredible, exactly what would you expect from a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The food was fresh, Mediterranean, light but very savory. The staff was outstanding, the somelier did an very good job pairing the food with the best wines, and I’m lost for words about the Chef. All in all it was an outstanding experience.
26/05/2025: Had very high expectations for a 2-star place, especially the day after we were highly impressed by a 1-star in Rome (Zia). Totally lived up to those expectations, largely because they let us do two different menus and share (despite saying on their menu they don't do this). This always makes the experience so much better, getting to try twice as much, so I hope they make that a regular thing. It's a very formal place; I had to bring a 2nd pair of shoes on our 2 week trip specifically to wear here :-) Food was tremendous overall, and often pretty challenging - if you're not into experimentation and creativity and you just want standard delicious food I wouldn't recommend this place but if you want to try a bunch of wonderful and inventive stuff you've never imagined, have your notions of what e.g. dessert is challenged, this is the place. Not to say it prioritizes different over good, either - my wife had a couple things that didn't work for her (out of 24) but I enjoyed every course quite a bit, with 11 new things added to my list of best-things-I've-ever-eaten. $300/person, 26/20 score, priced right (for comparison it's slightly cheaper but not quite as good as Acquerello, also 2*, in San Francisco, which is my #1 restaurant) Particular favorites: the carrot cocktail, potato napoleon with creamed cod, the fermented tuna heart with butter and bread (such an incredible and unique flavor), the lobster with pil pil (stunning), the sweetbreads with mantis shrimp aioli, the orzo with wild garlic sauce/clams/glasswort, the spaghetti with zucchini flowers, the ravioli with liquid bread filling and bready milk sauce, the duck liver savory meringue with truffles. Desserts were maybe the most memorable part - fig leaf ice cream with fig leaf oil and mulberries, a glasswort foam and sorbet with sour cream that would've been a salad if not for some sweet apple, & a creme caramel made with mullet roe instead of chicken eggs (felt like an Iron Chef judge, could totally taste the seafood but it was still great)

02/06/2025: After receiving a Smartbox for a gourmet dinner for 2 we opted for this restaurant given the many positive reviews, but the experience turned out not to be as expected. Saturday night: we were only 2 couples in the entire restaurant. The restaurant is half under a building and half all veranda in a garden… The courses follow one another with beautiful presentations and with fairly detailed explanations given by the kind and courteous waitress. However, each dish is "too mixed", with too many flavors and too many ingredients not combined but mixed in the true sense of the term. The combinations are not enhanced but each ingredient is lost submerged by the other, causing the unitary taste to be lost and left confused. From the appetizer in the shape of a roll with various ingredients of sea, land, fried eggplant peels and puree of something, to the broken spaghetti with too much mushroom sauce, stracciatella and 1 mini red shrimp (but the sauce was really too excessive) up to the sea bass also presented in the shape of a roll, or involtino, divided into 2 parts and also this placed on a puree of... I don't know... the flavors get lost. The sea bass also seemed good, but it was cancelled out by too many other flavors and by the crunchy transparent crust that wrapped it which however was too sticky and gluey in the mouth. Unfortunately this is repeated until the dessert. This also looks good to the eye but then the creamy/ice cream with sweet crunchy crumble, honey dripping, pieces of meringue, banana chips and a yellow puree of I don't remember what also sweet makes you lose the only strong flavor that had struck me which was that of a nice coffee. The accompanying breads are simple but well made: mini baguette, red pizza, small sandwich, 2 breadsticks, and 2 pieces of focaccia alla pugliese. In conclusion I admit that we expected something different, no dish impressed us, no combination made us say wow, but everything left us a bit perplexed, as well as the bathroom of the place that would require renovation or modernization. The fact that even the waitress never asked us how our tasting was going and if our dishes were to our liking left me suspicious. Did she also know that something was going wrong? Is it better not to ask to avoid any criticism on the dishes? Maybe the chef still has to find the right way and what I can recommend is: LESS IS MORE. Apart from the Smartbox we paid €8 for two for service and 1 natural water.

02/07/2025: Bruschetta with tomato (gifted) and eggplant (2€) nice but a bit dry, nothing special. Fried cod too salty, seems like frozen pecce. Friendly waitress. Water from their machine costs 3€ (in my opinion it's excessive). Good carbonara.
01/07/2025: Delicious food, friendly and smiling waiters, what more could you want!!! Both the pizzas and pasta are very good. I recommend the pizzeria.

08/06/2025: After watching Chef’s Table on Netflix, we knew we had to visit Antica Osteria Nonna Rosa — and it did not disappoint! We went on a Sunday for the tasting menu lunch and had such a memorable experience. The food was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and there was plenty of it. A perfect blend of tradition and creativity. Highly recommend for a special meal in the Sorrento area! Just take the train. Make reservations!

15/05/2025: Wonderful place, truly suggestive. I went there for dinner and I have to say that I liked everything. From the kindness of the service, to the exquisite food, to the simple location but cared for in every detail with many prints by Musante (which I adore by the way!). I don't know what else to say because for me it was truly a perfect dinner. I would go back again and again! And obviously I highly recommend it to everyone!!!! Thanks to the girls in the dining room. Even though I accidentally broke a glass on the table and I was mortified and super embarrassed, they put me at ease by intervening immediately and joking with me. SPECIAL!

24/06/2025: A tip from a connoisseur. Barely noticeable from the outside. Top-notch Italian cuisine. Except for the typical pizza and pasta. Everything was delicious. We were a large group, and all the food arrived at the same time and piping hot. 5 stars are more than deserved.
20/06/2025: We spent a lovely evening here. The terrace/beer garden of "Al Capitel" is beautifully decorated in a vintage style. You can also sit inside. The food was delicious; I highly recommend the truffle pasta and the shrimp pasta. The owner, a truly lovely woman, chatted with many of the guests; many seem to have been coming here regularly and for years. Parking was still available in front of the door, but it was difficult to find parking when the restaurant was full.
