We had dinner at the Antica Locanda del Contrabbandiere and were truly satisfied. The staff was friendly, kind, and welcoming. The food was excellent, served with great care, so much so that our mouths were still watering the next day just thinking about it! The location is also very pretty and well-kept. A place we recommend and will gladly return to.

I search for restaurants and read countless reviews. Satisfying one's taste buds has become a challenge these days, for many reasons. Most of the time, it's a total disappointment. High prices, meager portions, forgettable service. But finally, at Locanda del Contrabbandiere, a glimmer of hope. The chef presents his recipes, aware of their value and deliciousness. Add to that the friendly atmosphere, which doesn't hurt, and the countryside location, which is already a treat and an added bonus. Everything was perfect, in short, even the price, which is more than worthy for the quality achieved. What can I say? Congratulations, we'll definitely be back, highly recommended! A truly satisfying culinary experience.

We had dinner, sampling a selection of appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts. All dishes were expertly explained by the owner and were absolutely delicious! The portions were just right. The service was impeccable! All at a reasonable price for the superb quality of the products! Kudos to the father, his daughter, and the entire staff!

I'm writing this review very late after my visit, because this place always comes to mind (I'm talking about the restaurant). A truly happy memory: among the best dishes I've ever eaten. Everything was served and explained with courtesy, care, and passion, and at a very reasonable price. My friends and I happened to be passing by, but we want to compliment the management and the kitchen. The place is very well-kept and fresh. Even the wines we ordered were special, expertly chosen. I'll be back with others to share the experience. It's one of those places you never forget.

Upon our arrival, we received a very warm welcome from the owner himself. The menu was explained in detail, even in German, which we appreciated. The complimentary aperitif, served upon request, was also a particularly pleasant touch. The service was consistently excellent, and the waitress spoke very good English, making communication effortless. The food was outstanding, and the portion sizes were just right for us. Each course was served at a comfortable pace, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed evening without ever feeling rushed. One minor drawback was that the first course was only served for two. Since my husband doesn't like risotto, I unfortunately had to forgo it. The coffee and dessert (unfortunately, we didn't take a picture) were also delicious and perfectly complemented the meal. The restaurant is priced slightly higher than what you typically find in the countryside. However, given the wonderful ambiance, the beautiful surroundings, and the personalized service, this is perfectly understandable. The price is a bit higher than what you would typically find in the countryside. What impressed us most was that the owner even ran after us to say goodbye personally – a gesture rarely seen these days. All in all, this is a beautiful restaurant away from the lake, boasting a lot of personal charm, excellent service, and a wonderful ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would love to come back.

I came to eat with friends and it was a truly pleasant surprise. The dishes are refined and the ingredients are top-quality, and the chef's (and owner's) passion is truly evident. We ate wonderfully, and the wine selection was also excellent. Another note of merit goes to the location: just a few rooms, very intimate and well-furnished, while still maintaining a rustic, old-world feel. I will definitely be back.

Sunday family lunch. The owner is a delightful person: welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The dishes, which vary according to seasonal availability, are carefully presented, balanced in flavor, and excellent in quality. The location is elegant and comfortable both indoors and out.

I've been there several times now—and each time, I've felt like I wasn't just going out to eat, but rather part of a deeply personal culinary narrative. Riccardo Camanini's cuisine combines something that very few chefs master: the utmost precision with genuine warmth. Nothing here feels loud, contrived, or gimmicky. Instead, perfect ingredients, exceptional technique, and immense creativity combine to create a cuisine brimming with soul and emotion. Dishes like the legendary Cacio e Pepe served in a pig's bladder are, of course, spectacular—not for the visual effect, but because they possess an incredible depth, elegance, and naturalness. This same quality permeates the entire menu: memories, childhood, tradition, and modern interpretation merge into something entirely unique. What I find particularly impressive is how poetic this cuisine remains despite all its technical sophistication. Some dishes are almost like little stories—sometimes warm and comforting, sometimes surprisingly playful, but always with remarkable clarity and a deep respect for the ingredients. Added to this is the exceptional hospitality, which has become rare even in top-tier restaurants. You don't feel like you're in a temple of fine dining, but genuinely welcome. Elegant, attentive, but never aloof. And then, of course, there's the location on Lake Garda, which makes the entire experience almost unreal. For me, Lido 84 is now clearly one of the most impressive restaurants in Europe—not only because of its culinary excellence, but because it achieves something far more difficult: bringing emotion to the plate.
18/03/2026: I'm starting on a sad note because you'll never be able to experience or share an experience like this again (it closes this Sunday), because I'm getting emotional writing these words, like when I ate the spaghetti I've been wanting to try for years... we were fortunate enough to experience certain flavors, certain dishes, combinations, ideas, and emotions in this place, and I hope the next time we try Camanini's dishes will be as soon as possible. On the one hand, I'd like to comment on how unique the dishes were (the photos speak for themselves) or how beautiful it was to see the perfect decor, but what we prefer to share is the kindness, empathy, and humanity that the entire staff demonstrated. It's indescribable, and it made a fantastic evening that we'll remember for a lifetime, something words can't express. I just wanted to say thank you, and we truly hope to see you again soon.
