20/09/2025: This evening we ordered pizzas. The girl who answered the phone was precise, and since I'm gluten intolerant, she recommended the right dough, describing the consistency. We ordered two diavola pizzas and a gluten-free marinara. They delivered on time, and the pizza was really good, the gluten-free one was excellent.

10/08/2025: A very beautiful and intimate place, with friendly staff who greet you when you enter (that's not always the case these days). Excellent, well-cooked pizza, with many flavors and a variety of dough choices. Very fair prices. I ordered their specialty, named after them, and considering the ingredients, I would have spent much more elsewhere. I'll gladly return.

15/09/2025: The room was fine, but the bathroom needed new silicone seals in the shower. The mattresses were very soft. The three-star rating was a bit faded, and the reception was overly friendly. Okay for a stopover.

21/08/2025: I happened to be in Varese by chance. It's the perfect place for an aperitif in Varese. The only place with a courtyard. It's the first time, and not the last.

11/07/2025: Da non andarci! Orario aperitivo in coppia. Chiesto esplicitamente che era nostra intenzione fare aperitivo. I cocktail 1 passabile l'altro osceno...aperitivo 2 pezzettini di focaccia 2di pizza olive e 1 fetta di prosciutto con 4 mini pezzi di pane. Richiesto poi gentilmente delle patatine e del prosciutto....arriva dopo secoli con 4 fette di prosciutto e olive senza pane senza patatine.....passava il tempo e ci sentivamo presi in giro...ci siamo alzati detto che le bevande una era imbevibile l'altra passabile e il ragazzo se ne esce con il dire non in quel momento che le patatine non c'erano....pazzesco. locale da chiudere.....perché non c'è gente che lo sa gestire.

19/06/2025: Caffè Broletto is a great choice for a well-made aperitif in the heart of Varese. The cocktails are good, balanced and well presented, and the atmosphere is relaxed but refined. A pleasant place to stop for a drink and a chat in the center.

01/06/2025: Nice bar overlooking the roundabout, with foosball tables, tables inside and outside. Open from morning to late evening, fairly easy parking. View of the surrounding hills, mixed clientele.

11/05/2025: I didn't know that 3 lattes cost €3.00 in cash and €3.60 paid by phone. We were waiting for the receipt she gave but... after a while we left as the girl was procrastinating and at this point I thought we would be stupid if we waited, we wouldn't get the paper copy of the transaction, oh well I have the digital one of the card...

23/09/2025: Very beautiful lakeside location, very attentive service from the waiter. The food was good. However, we didn't realize until we got the bill that we had been overcharged until home. Three glasses of wine instead of two. The prices were incomprehensible. Two glasses at €10.00 each, but we ordered white wine for €4 each. The third glass of wine that wasn't received was charged €7.00. So, €27.00 for two glasses of white wine! The restaurant opens at 6 p.m., and we were the second guests there. We were informed that the kitchen for hot meals doesn't open until 7 p.m. We explained that we would still wait and ordered drinks and coffee. Unexpectedly, the waiter brought us a kind of Margherita bread with nine small slices, which also tasted good. We wondered if this was a courtesy of the house, given the long wait until 7 p.m. It wasn't, and they charged €8, which is fine, but it wasn't our order. So we overpaid €27! We added a 15% tip at the end, which was a bit too much in the end. Check the bill before leaving the restaurant! We were a bit dazzled by the waiter's charm; he might have been a bit calculating. The opening hours on Google are incorrect! Only Facebook lists the correct times. There's a lunch break, and hot meals aren't served until 7 p.m., even though the restaurant is open from 6 p.m., which is confusing for guests who aren't familiar with the place.

19/09/2025: The food was delicious. The service was very friendly, and the view of the sunset over Lake Maggiore was simply fantastic.

18/10/2025: As a Roman, I can only compliment the chef. An extraordinary cacio e pepe, a fabulous amatriciana, an amazing carbonara. What can I say? I recommend anyone who loves Roman cuisine to stop by Locanda Antica Roma.

30/09/2025: Friendly service. The atmosphere made me sad because it seemed like a place close to closing down, given the lack of dishes listed on the menu and even the lack of canned drinks. The food is very salty and has nothing to do with Roman cuisine. Perhaps some Ticinese might believe this, but in Rome, the food is different. Still water is top-of-the-line and out of my budget. The bill is excessively high.

23/09/2025: Breakfast experience: I can understand wanting to save money but the croissants have just a hint of filling, at least the ones we tried... the result was that as soon as we left we went to another bar for a second breakfast.

01/10/2025: What can I say? Prices? Embarrassing. I don't feel like justifying it because it's "pastry-style," since it doesn't even have the value at that level. Service? Now I understand that being a waitress isn't easy, given the average boomer clientele, who, in five minutes for a coffee, have expressed such inflammatory thoughts that the pillories would have required tomato-throwing to compensate for the crime. But 100% of the time, at any time, there's a lack of even the slightest sense of welcome, except for those regular customers who have earned the title of "people to whom you should at least say hello by addressing them." The cappuccino is always piping hot, something that upsets me spiritually. I don't have to blow or add cold milk; it's frothed, not boiled! Products? They're good, but not worth the price. Location? Space and parking available with a romantic view of the service station. Let's say there is significant room for improvement.

01/10/2025: Ottimo per colazione, aperitivo e come pasticceria. Prezzi contenuti, qualità super. Proposte gluten free. Ottimi dolci. Aperitivo con un fornito tagliere a poco più di un euro extra. Assolutamente da provare. Posti sia all'interno, che nella terrazza esterna. Personale educato, sorridente e gentile.
