18/10/2025: As a Roman, I can only compliment the chef. An extraordinary cacio e pepe, a fabulous amatriciana, an amazing carbonara. What can I say? I recommend anyone who loves Roman cuisine to stop by Locanda Antica Roma.

30/11/2025: Bikers and non-bikers alike, if you're in the area, resist the temptation to picnic and head to the refuge for lunch. The welcome is warm and unpretentious, and the food is authentic and well-cooked. We went there yesterday for the first time, but it's now saved on Google Maps with a star. Well done, keep it up!

24/01/2026: A delicious evening with refined and sophisticated dishes. Very friendly staff. We'll be back and definitely recommend it for experiencing new tastes, flavors, and aromas. The chef, a very friendly person, also engaged us by telling us the history of some of the dishes on the menu.

03/12/2025: A very sad, deserted restaurant at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was pleasant, the music depressing, and the little girl at the entrance was completely out of place, painting, wandering around the bathrooms, making customers uncomfortable, and serving herself from the water dispenser. We thought we were in a restaurant, not a play center. The supposed owner is absent-minded, forgetting to bring us drinks, trying to explain the dishes to us and forgetting them. The plate of pasta was inedible, bitter, sent back to the kitchen, removed from the bill, but not without an endless scolding at the cashier about how everyone loved it and we were the ones who didn't understand the nature of the dish. A lot of inconvenience... we'll never return.

02/04/2026: A charming and welcoming place where you can enjoy the best cappuccino birillo in Varese. I highly recommend it for its friendliness and peaceful atmosphere.

10/01/2026: I was here for the second time this week and again it's a 10 out of 10. The food was fantastic (especially the pasta with ragù), the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommended. P.S. Try the excellent grappa 😉

05/01/2026: Good quality, small quantity for the price. Beautiful setting. View of Porto Ceresio and its Christmas lights. €19 for a few slices of pluma ibérica doesn't seem fair to me. But I could be wrong. There must be reasons unknown to me.

26/10/2025: We came to this place on a Friday evening to get two takeout pizzas. Upon entering, we asked for an estimated wait time, which was given as about 20 minutes; we actually waited almost 40. The place was fairly empty, but there was a lot of traffic from people who had cleverly booked over the phone. Inside, there was a rather rowdy group of kids, who fortunately didn't stay long. The staff was friendly, and the pizzas had a very good dough but were a bit sparse in ingredients. The prices are average for the area, but in my opinion, a bit high due to the limited ingredients used. The place has some outdoor parking spaces overlooking the main road. Inside, it's quite clean and reasonably spacious.

06/10/2025: The atmosphere is very nice, but unfortunately, it's very poorly organized. The service needs a complete overhaul...many oversights and a lot of confusion. The dishes are delicious.

06/10/2025: This all-you-can-eat restaurant is way too expensive for the quality it offers. Unfortunately, we found a hair in one of the dishes, and shortly before, guests at another table called the waitress for the same problem. At this point, I'm starting to think there's a general lack of attention to hygiene in the kitchen. Furthermore, they didn't apply any discounts to the bill to at least try to make up for this serious mistake. The service is terrible. Hardly anyone speaks fluent Italian, so it's difficult to order and make yourself understood. In fact, we skipped dessert for this very reason. I will definitely never return and I strongly advise against it!!!

11/08/2025: Last night I ordered takeout pizzas and was really satisfied! As soon as I arrived, the guy at the counter was super kind and friendly: he even offered me a beer while I waited, a simple but much appreciated gesture. The pizzas were all excellent: well-cooked dough, abundant, and high-quality ingredients. The fish is a must-try. Well done!
