30/07/2026: We had lunch at this trattoria with a panoramic view of Lake Varese. The carpione with lake fish was excellent. The rice with perch was sublime. Kudos to the girl who served us. Highly recommended.

28/07/2026: In warm weather, you can enjoy lunch or dinner al fresco on a splendid terrace, which offers an enchanting view, shaded by majestic maples. From a gastronomic standpoint, there's nothing to complain about: the famous "Ris in Cagnun," the trattoria's signature dish, fully lived up to its reputation. The mixed lake fish appetizer was also excellent, well-prepared and of high quality. Unfortunately, a serious incident marred what could have been an excellent experience. Several customers, seated at nearby tables, smoked throughout the dinner despite a clearly displayed "No Smoking" sign. Even more shocking than the uncivilized behavior of these patrons was the attitude of the staff, who, despite our repeated reports, failed to intervene to enforce the ban. It's unacceptable for a business to display a smoking ban and then systematically let it go unenforced. Those who choose to dine al fresco do not forfeit their right to breathe clean air. For this reason, despite the excellent cuisine and splendid location, my overall opinion of the trattoria is inevitably reduced.

27/06/2026: A restaurant in the province of Varese that I find truly worth the "à la carte" service! Dinner with friends and colleagues. Beautiful location, simple yet very elegant and unique. Relaxing atmosphere with no noise drowning out the voices of the other diners! The food is simply fabulous! Super fresh fish, you can tell by the cut, which is a spectacle! It's not like me to use all these superlatives, but I really can't help it!!! Each dish is unique, with attention to the smallest detail. You also have the option of choosing between two pre-designed menus, which are an explosion of exceptional flavors! The staff was attentive and friendly, kind and polite... in short, we truly appreciated everything! Even the desserts, which I should point out are not homemade, are truly delicious! We will definitely be back!!! The prices are very fair; we thought we would pay much more, but instead... very fair. Thank you so much... see you next time!

03/08/2026: A relaxing and well-kept place, with a large back garden with shaded tables, several sunny seats, a beautiful lawn, and mountain views. Very friendly staff, excellent food at a fair price. I've been there before and will return in the future. Beautiful walks nearby.

01/08/2026: Our experience was lunch. On our way back from the waterfalls, we stopped for a break. We were drawn to the tables set out on the lawn. I wonder how beautiful the evening must be. Excellent meal. The tortei with roast beef was very good, and despite being among the appetizers, it was a good main course. The spaghetti was also beautifully presented. There was little wait for us. A truly beautiful facility. The restrooms were lovely.

14/07/2026: I went to this pizzeria with my family for dinner on Sunday. The atmosphere is nice, with outdoor seating, though we stayed inside because of the heat. The pizza is very good, with some original flavors. The staff is attentive and friendly. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try something unique. They also make more traditional pizzas.

12/07/2026: I hope you'll take this as a starting point for improvement... the pizza is still one of my favorites in the area, but I don't know if anything has changed in the way they treat customers. Please, if someone books a table for six, you should provide a table suitable for six, not a table for four and then make it into a table for six, having to eat on top of each other. That evening, we insisted and managed to get a suitable table, because I'm happy to pay your prices, but I also expect a quiet and comfortable dinner. If you don't have enough room, don't take too many reservations. Thank you.

13/07/2026: TRUE STORY: My wife and I are moving to Varese for a few weeks to give birth to our son. She already knew Il Gestore, but I hadn't been there since I wasn't a regular in the city. "We absolutely have to try it!" she tells me. We make a reservation one evening, but she starts to show the first signs of labor, so we have to cancel. The next day, labor is intermittent. Our doula advises my wife to do something that makes her feel good, to release oxytocin, which usually kicks things off. She immediately says, "Lobster linguine, I want the lobster linguine from Il Gestore!" I call to see if they can do takeout: "Sorry, we have a wedding today and the kitchen is busy. Could a piece of foie gras be okay?" My wife loves foie gras, so I go get it. I arrive at the restaurant, a beautiful villa, where I'm warmly welcomed. Finally, they gave me the foie gras with a big "good luck." I took it to our accommodation, and with every bite, my wife had a contraction. About 12 hours later, our son was born! The Manager will forever be in our hearts, and we promised to bring our baby as soon as he's weaned.
