04/05/2026: Lunch or dinner at Giorgio's is always a great experience. Super-fair prices, generous portions, and a family atmosphere. A classic old-fashioned place where you can enjoy good company, good food, and a great time. In the summer, they also host outdoor aperitifs. I recommend always booking in advance.

07/04/2026: The pirates' lair is jealously guarded by the predators of taste, ready to set sail on new sensory forays. The unwary traveler who sadly approaches the food and fails to recognize the indelible insignia risks getting lost in this Babel of conviviality. The signs are evident, overlapping, and displayed like trophies. Captain Blackbeard's philosophy is clear in its intent and purpose, conveyed by the crew with a Picard-like air as they welcome customers onto the ship with the skull and crossbones. The dim light and the indelible "signs" of those who preceded us facilitate entry into the shop's gustatory knowledge. The tender cured meats gathered on the plate forge a pact of loyalty: first, the fresh prosciutto opens the taste buds to the assault of the more concentrated cured meats and delicate pancettas, which, mindful of their origins, melt at the arrival of the second wave of flavor. In their straw-yellow white suits, complex cheeses arrive, such as the proud pecorino and spicy gorgonzola, veined in their own style, while, freed from shame, the bloomy rinds hide behind the timid parmesan. While awaiting the next assault on the palates of those present, rivers of joyful wine soothe the mood until the arrival of the first courses filled with rich sausages related to light cream or solitary salmon. The tagliata arrive urgently, raw in the rush and flavored with a few random herbs so as not to be completely naked. Rich mascarpone creams, buttery and composed with crunchy fans necessary to hide the intimate grain enclosed within, awaken and cover the raw sensations. After the meal, the brigade gathers in a disorderly fashion to bid farewell and plan the next melee attack.

21/05/2026: We went on a recommendation from our apartment host. The Margherita pizza was very good. The cocktails and coffee were also very nice. The service could be improved. The waiter clearly didn't feel like working. There was a promotion for a pizza to go for 4€, which was great. We went back to get some for dinner. I've already recommended it to friends who will be traveling to Pisa. Don't put me off! :)

25/04/2026: We went to this place for an aperitivo. The spritz was nothing special. It was supposed to be accompanied by a Margherita pizza. We ordered two, but they brought a regular pizza, which contained a clove of garlic that we honestly didn't expect to find... presumably they used the sauce they had ready to serve on some pasta dishes... Not only did we pay €12 for the Margherita pizza, it was literally a rip-off! I have to say I'm disappointed because I'd read some great reviews. We're tourists, but taking advantage of it like this... Not recommended!

10/04/2026: A fantastic place, combining traditional Italian meals with modern twist. Kids loved their delicious pasta and black burgers, juicy and generous, and we enjoyed rabbit and melanzana. The deserts were well balanced, not overly sweet and succulent. But the main reason we came back to Modus the very next day is their bread. Brown bread that comes as a part of the welcome basket is just out of this world! They make it in-house, so unfortunately not for sale, so make sure to enjoy it when there. Lovely friendly staff - service with a genuine smile. We were very well looked after, advised on the meals and welcomed back like old friends. Highly recommend!

16/05/2026: The BEST gluten free bakery I've ever been to, the man serving was so helpful and patient as we ordered 2 rounds of savoury and 2 rounds of sweet items. The cannoli is incredible, you have got to try the Cornetto is better than any gluten filled croissant I've ever had. Simply belissimo!!!!!

27/12/2025: Truly excellent, we'd been there several years ago, always top notch. The appetizers were amazing, the pappardelle with wild boar was excellent, and the carbon cake was delicious. The carbon placemat was cute.

01/05/2026: The staff were quite efficient, the first course was tasteless and cold, the vegetables au gratin, they say, were only grilled, and the potato slices were only thin and the scallops were tough and thick... in short, we didn't eat well and we spent too much, I don't recommend it.

22/04/2026: Coffee-colored "Cofeca" On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM, I went to Piazza Innocenzo III looking for a coffee bar. I looked around and saw that this restaurant/pizzeria also had the sign "Caffè Vittorio Emanuele." I ordered a coffee, and without even asking if I wanted some water (in the South, they generally do this or put it directly on the counter), he made me a coffee-colored "ciofeca" and also charged €1.50. See the attached receipt, which is marked "Belvedere." After visiting the Cathedral, Cloister, and Museum starting at 3:00 PM, we returned to the square and went to the Bar del Duomo, which had previously been closed. We ordered two coffees, which were excellent. He asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water, for a total cost of €2.40, or €1.20 each. Same square, same location, better coffee with two glasses of water, and even a much lower price. You decide. Oh, I forgot that both coffees were ordered at the counter, not sitting down.

23/04/2026: Aside from the kindness and friendliness of the staff... I ate the best steak of my life!! Not to mention the desserts, all homemade... delicious!

11/04/2026: Excellent product quality; the four of us had two tartares, two portions of potatoes, three desserts, and a Danish steak. Everything was excellent, but the meat was truly exceptional, it tasted like butter.

01/05/2026: Mezzadria Toscana, just steps from the Tower. Simple, well-organized, and clean. Gourmet sandwiches, salads, fries, and high-quality fried foods. Excellent selection of meats. Limited seating. Takeout or home delivery with Glovo and other delivery services. Quick and meticulous preparation. You can choose from pre-designed sandwiches or create your own combination. Friendly staff, attentive to customer needs. What can I say: top notch!

11/05/2026: Found by chance on a rainy day, it turned out to be a lucky choice. Free parking is just a short walk away, the service is friendly and attentive, though very basic and slow (especially the food). Generous portions and satisfactory quality, all at fairly reasonable prices. We had an appetizer shared between four, a main course each, half a glass of house wine, water, and coffee for just under €25 each. It was lovely to find photos of artists on the tables, and the decor, perhaps a little casual, is a nod to Lajatico's "everything is culture" vibe, which is obviously something you might like or not. In any case, it left a fond memory, and I'd probably return or recommend it.
