14/06/2026: This is one of those places you'll want to return to. Even though it was Sunday lunch and the restaurant was fully booked, the service was attentive and well-organized.
We started with a rich appetizer of excellent local cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by a delicious fennel caponata with capers and olives, wild boar arancini, and a flavorful Tuscan soup. The beef fillet with truffles was also truly excellent, carefully prepared and enhanced by top-quality ingredients.
You can sense the attention to detail in the cuisine, the quality of the ingredients, and the hospitality. The value for money is also excellent.
The setting makes the experience even more enjoyable: the village in which the restaurant is located is simply enchanting and worth a visit in itself.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

07/07/2026: A truly delightful place! A small, charming restaurant right in the heart of town.
We've eaten here spontaneously three times now and have always been able to get a table. Although making a reservation is definitely recommended.
It's very popular! ;)
The food is fantastic and the staff is incredibly friendly!
We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
07/07/2026: Located in the small town square, it was truly a wonderful discovery! Delicious food, exquisite pici, and generous portions. Unfortunately, we ran out of room to try their desserts. The staff were extremely kind and, despite the crowds, always attentive to their customers' needs. In particular, the waitress, whose name I unfortunately don't know, was friendly and greeted us with a smile right away... that's not a given. They were truly excellent in everything, from the food to the service!

09/06/2026: The pizza was probably undercooked; unfortunately, I've never eaten such a bad pizza in Italy, and we go to Italy at least twice a year. What a shame. The staff, however, were very friendly.
06/06/2026: We were only in Tuscany for 7 days and ate at a different restaurant every day, but we simply had to come back here at the end. Delicious food, very friendly service, and great value for money. We'll be back!

02/09/2025: Arrived late at a nearby hotel and Googled this restaurant that is closest and reviewed to serve good food with reasonable price.
The seats outside were reserved so we had to sit inside.
The waiter doesn't understand English but when I asked about WiFi he gave me their password which I used for translating the menu so we could order. Busy as he was by himself the young waiter was able to graciously serve the sudden crowd from the hotel.
The food was the best I had so far halfway this tour from France, Spain and Italy going forward.
31/07/2025: So... When we arrived, the waiter asked if we had a reservation... The restaurant was empty, though... He agreed to set a table for us... We left, and it was still empty... No drinks or wine menu... The waiter didn't know what to serve or the prices... He was barely pleasant... In fact, he was unpleasant... The pasta wasn't great and was too salty... Absolutely no interest.

Ristorante - Pizzeria L'Ippocastano

10/11/2023: Arrivati in anticipo al Museo delle miniere di rame di Montecatini Val di Cecina, abbiamo deciso di fermarci a pranzo all' ippocastano, praticamente adiacente al parco museale. Nonostante il locale sia piccolo abbiamo trovato subito posto in quanto all' arrivo eravamo gli unici clienti. Poco dopo hanno apparecchiato un tavolo ad un gruppo di una decina di persone. L arredamento sebbene modesto è quello accogliente della tipica trattoria toscana che mette a proprio agio. Il cameriere gentile e disponibile ma, aimé, nota dolente e deludente la cucina. In due abbiamo ordinato due antipasti, uno composto da crostini di selvaggina, l altro da salumi e sottoli un primo di penne alla boscaiola e un secondo di cinghiale con olive acqua e vino della casa e due caffè. Ho assaggiato tutti i piatti e l unica portata a cui riesco a dare la sufficienza è il cinghiale alla cacciatora (buono). Peccato perché il posto meriterebbe qualcosa di meglio. Unica giustificazione che potrei trovare è che avendo notato all' esterno che era attivo un generatore di corrente, in funzione magari per sopperire ad un guasto sulla linea causata dal mal tempo che aveva colpito la zona questo potrebbe aver creato problemi organizzativi in cucina. Ristorante che per l esperienza personale avuta non mi sento di consigliare.
29/10/2023: Ottima cucina toscana con cibi genuini, accompagnati da una lista di vini variegata.
Personalmente ho gustato un antipasto di crostini con fegatini, penne alla boscaiola e brasato ai funghi porcini con contorno di patatine fritte, il tutto accompagnato da un egregio amabile bianco di nota provenienza: Est! Est! Est.
Servizio impeccabile, location curata e confortevole.

Ottimi prodotti locali....da gustare sul posto e da portare a casa perché rimani con la voglia di continuare a gustarli
E poi che dire del luogo dove situato...meravigliose colline circostanti
