I don't understand the Michelin recommendation. Overall the food was good.
I was server a Rabbit dish with a "celery meatball" that I literally could not cut with a steak knife 🙃.
They were using a vacuum constantly.
Honestly, the best dish they served us was Rigatoni with butter and cheese for my young son.

My dream at Enoteca Del Duca didn't begin at the restaurant itself, but in the nearby "Boutique del Gusto," a small corner of gastronomic wonders that serves as the perfect prelude to the experience.
I entered out of curiosity, without expectations, and was immediately won over by the selection of wines, the local products, and especially the splendid handcrafted cutting boards made from salty olive wood. Shortly afterward, Fabio Vallini appeared: elegant, confident, ironic, and incredibly welcoming. He took me on a sort of impromptu gastronomic tour, letting me taste Cinta Senese salami, his own extra virgin olive oil, incredibly flavorful cherry tomatoes, and a simply memorable "naked" fruit platter with peaches and basil.
It was 1:00 PM. The best aperitivo possible.
I had a reservation at another restaurant in Volterra, but Fabio wanted to show me the Enoteca. He personally escorted me inside, offering me a glass of prosecco and proudly introducing me to his team. It took just a few minutes to realize that this wasn't just about dining, but about genuine hospitality.
I immediately canceled my other reservation.
He seated me at table 52, next to a renowned food critic, and from there began one of the most wonderful gastronomic experiences of my life. A Santabarbara perfectly paired with a Chianina tartare with a 54°C egg and caramelized onions that was simply masterful; a beef cheek cooked in Chianti of disarming tenderness; and finally a tarte that, completely unexpectedly, brought back memories of my father.
100 with honors.
At Enoteca Del Duca, I found something that is extremely rare these days: people who sincerely want to make you feel at ease and share with you the good things that exist.
Not just a lunch. A memory that I will cherish for a long time.

Beyond the quick fix of fat and carbohydrates, this restaurant offers the opportunity to dine in style and with great quality. Contrary to the misleading impression given by the numerous red stickers, the restaurant does not have a Michelin star, but it does come highly recommended. A well-poured glass of excellent Brunello costs €17.50, and water is €5. The cuisine is very solid, sophisticated, and features superb ingredients. The ambiance, especially the charming courtyard, and the friendly service are also impressive. A starter, main course, wine, and water for one person costs €80.
