By pure chance, I found myself spending a week in this small but charming town, Palaia. I asked the owner of the house where I was staying for advice on where to eat, and she gave me a list of restaurants. I chose Bacciomeo! I hadn't read the reviews—I never do, because I'm a chef and restaurateur, and I know how fickle the opinions of a public—pardon me, often ignorant on the subject—can be. I arrive and am greeted with huge smiles, a historic, beautiful, well-kept restaurant. The welcome was top-notch, the staff fantastic, and I immediately made friends with Monia, the owner and top-notch host. Finally, once we were seated, the courses arrived, and one after the other, I felt nothing but delight and a thrill with every bite. The food was expertly prepared, the ingredients were top-notch, so high-quality that I couldn't understand how they managed to keep the prices so low. Moral of the story: I ate very well, so I had to return a second time because I couldn't leave without experiencing the quality of the food and the service, which, despite the restaurant being always packed, was impeccable once again. I'll conclude by thanking you, because it's professionals like you who uphold the Italian restaurant scene: perfect cuisine, friendly and professional service, just the way I like it. Thank you, Monia, for the experience you gave us; we'll be back soon. (For those who think this is a review from a relative, don't worry; until last Tuesday I didn't even know Palaia existed, much less Bacciomeo, but today I'm so happy to have discovered both.)

You need to dress better to go there. Fancy place.

An exceptional atmosphere with excellent food and a very welcoming family. You feel right at home; the food is not only a feast for the eyes. Reservations are recommended. We'll definitely be back.

This restaurant had delicious food at reasonable prices with very friendly and welcoming service all set within a beautiful historical building with frescoes of the local area on the walls. The photos are of the fagottini pasta and the vegetarian entree, which I could not speak highly enough of. From the flavours to the presentation, these dishes were especially delicious!

It's an experience from another era. I liked everything from the location to the food, and above all the very attentive service. I highly recommend going.

Just last night, we had the pleasure of celebrating the birthday of a dear friend, Irina Ciobanu, at this excellent location. Everything was perfect, from the location, to the impeccable service, to the originality of the menu, to the owner's willingness to share the history of the venue. We will definitely be back.
