07/09/2025: Following the excellent reviews, we decided to have lunch here, and we were delighted! As soon as we arrived, we were invited to come in and order a table, and were treated to delicious dishes. Excellent value. If we were to stay in the area, we'd definitely come back. Well done!

09/11/2025: I went there for lunch on the recommendation of friends "to eat well-cooked porcini mushrooms." I've never had such PERFECT porcini mushrooms. Everything was excellent. Both the food and the wine (recommended by the guy who looked after us throughout the meal). The staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable, respectful of our lunch times, and never intrusive. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes I'd glimpsed from neighbors' plates (everything looked delicious). The location was also very beautiful: clean, bright, and overlooking the courtyard with olive trees and antique troughs housing beautiful and well-kept succulents. Everything was very peaceful. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
05/11/2025: We had lunch featuring fresh porcini mushrooms. The quality and freshness of the mushrooms were outstanding. From the "simple" porcini carpaccio to more elaborate dishes like porcini mushrooms covered in kataifi. The waiter was extremely attentive to our needs and precise in his suggestions. An excellent location for a tasty, high-quality meal.

26/10/2025: It offers a charming atmosphere, with soft lighting creating an intimate ambiance, accentuated by decorative lights on the tables. The service was courteous, and the wait times were reasonable, contributing to an overall pleasant experience.
Regarding the food, we had pizzas: the dough was very good, light and fluffy. However, I did notice a small flaw: my vegetarian pizza with baked potatoes was a bit too seasoned with oregano, which masked the flavors of the other ingredients.
Overall, I recommend this place for a quiet and tasty evening, with a little extra attention to the amount of toppings.

So why 5 stars?
To be perfectly honest, I hesitated to give it 4 stars because of the menu prices!
Well, this is a place for meat lovers, you have a wide selection, the meat is good and perfectly cooked. If your meat gets cold during your meal, they provide a griddle to reheat it.
The fish dishes are good.
The place is spacious, pleasant, nicely decorated, you're comfortably seated, and the service is efficient.
A big BRAVO and THANK YOU for contributing to the success of our stay in Lecce.

15/12/2025: Excellent food, stunning atmosphere. Arrogant and insensitive staff. I went for a glass of wine at 7:20 PM. Obviously, the place was booked for dinner, but it was empty. The arrogant guys upstairs said they were packed with people queuing (not true) and that you couldn't get a drink in half an hour (in Veneto, you can get at least three spritzes in 30 minutes). I feel sorry for the very kind owner, but he should surround himself with competent staff and not snooty kids.
25/11/2025: If I had to pick one of my happiest moments in Otranto, it would be enjoying wine at L'Ortale. From the outside, it looks like a small bar, but once you step inside, through a secret passageway, you'll find a beautiful outdoor table on the second floor. The beautiful Southern Italian weather, the vines, the delicious wine, and the charcuterie... it's truly perfect. Be sure to try the focaccia!!!
