03/10/2025: Passing through Casarano, looking for a trattoria open for lunch, we found La Pergola, located right across from Casarano's "Bomboniera." Top-notch for quality home-cooked cuisine!

The dishes themselves were disappointing: the meat was tough and fatty, the lobster was noticeably overcooked, and the pasta had a sour, unpleasant flavor. When we shared our concerns with the manager, instead of listening or showing any willingness to resolve the issue, he dismissed our comments and defended the restaurant. This defensive attitude only added to the frustration. The ambiance didn’t help either; the setting felt more like a cafeteria or staff canteen than a restaurant where you would want to spend an enjoyable evening. Overall, a very disappointing visit. Neither the food, the service, nor the atmosphere came close to meeting even the most basic expectations. Answer on the reaction of mister Giordano. Your reply says far more about your restaurant than any review ever could. Instead of addressing a guest’s feedback, you chose mockery — which perfectly explains the attitude we encountered that evening. If the goal was to prove our point about the lack of professionalism, consider it achieved.

When we shared our feedback with the manager, instead of showing understanding or offering any form of compensation, he simply defended the restaurant. This lack of professionalism and customer care made the experience even worse. On top of that, the restaurant’s atmosphere was underwhelming, more reminiscent of a staff kitchen than a place to enjoy a nice meal. Overall, a truly disappointing visit. Neither the food, the service, nor the setting lived up to even basic expectations. Answer to owners reaction; It’s quite telling that your response to criticism is not reflection but sarcasm. A professional restaurateur listens, learns, and values feedback — even when it’s not flattering. Our review was written honestly and respectfully, describing what we experienced. Your message, on the other hand, confirms exactly what we felt during our visit: a lack of respect for guests and for basic hospitality. 15/10/2025: The location is very good, just steps from Porta Rudiae and 350 meters from the Cathedral of the Assumption on Via Giuseppe Libertini. The restaurant is located in an old building and also has a large terrace, but we were a large group and were seated a bit cramped, which meant we didn't enjoy the food, which was otherwise very good. We had an eggplant pie for starters and a well-seasoned fish dish with vegetables for main course. The service was very fast and good, except for the waitress (a brunette with medium-length hair), who charged us for our drinks. She came in loudly and her manners weren't the best. A little more friendliness would be needed to serve the diners.

21/10/2025: I can describe dinner at La Tipografia as a true "taste immersion" that I would recommend to everyone. On another occasion, I also tried the cocktails prepared by the bartender, who was always attentive to the guests' tastes.

27/09/2025: A small restaurant just off the main nightlife hub, in the Convitto Palmieri area. The fried calzones are very large and delicious. The wait is reasonable, considering they're fried fresh. In addition to the classic calzone, you can also choose from a variety of fillings and dough. There are tables outside, without service, for a bite to eat and a drink. Prices are higher, but justified by the size, than the traditional calzone found everywhere else.

29/09/2025: The establishment was posted as open this Saturday from 8 p.m. and we found ourselves several customers in front of the door with all the lights off and without a sign to inform us.

24/09/2025: We took the pasta course with Greta and then ate on the beautiful terrace above the rooftops of Matino. An unforgettable experience. They serve excellent home-grown dishes, prepared with love. Highly recommended! A business couldn't be more family-friendly; everyone from the grandmother to the children works here. 22/09/2025: We spent a week in the heart of Salento, where tradition, family, and nature blend perfectly. The inn is managed and maintained by the entire family, where the new generations continue local traditions. The room was spacious, comfortable, and meticulously maintained. The terrace restaurant is truly magical. The traditional dishes are special, with an authentic flavor. The inn also offers orecchiette pasta and cheese-making classes and workshops. In the basement, there's a hot tub converted from an old water cistern. A place that stays in your heart... that gives you a moment of life that will remain forever etched in your memory. 04/10/2025: Great restaurant for breakfast and dinner close to the cathedral. Also, they made us an incredible packed lunch with a selection of meats, cheeses, jams and bread.
