06/08/2025: The Royal Palace of Turin is located in the historic center of Turin, adjacent to the charming Piazza Castello. ONE PALACE, MANY STORIES: It was originally a bishop's residence, but after the mid-16th century, Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy transformed it into the official seat of the court, marking the beginning of Turin as the capital. Over time, it underwent significant transformations. Significant work was carried out in the 17th century. After severe damage caused by a siege, the project was carried out by the architect Carlo di Castellamonte and then by his son, who later commissioned the imposing façade. It remained the seat of the monarchy until 1865, when the royals moved to Florence, which had meanwhile become the capital of Italy. Thus, the Palace remained only a place of representation and special events for the royals, such as weddings. With successive events, it lost its vital importance, until the fall of the monarchy in 1946, resulting in decline and oblivion. It is now fully restored and is part of the Royal Museums of Turin. ARCHITECTURE AND WONDERS: The Palace can be described as neoclassical Baroque in style. Its distinctive feature is that it consists of a central section and two higher wings. The gate with Castor and Pollux, created by Pelagio Palagi, protects the entrance with two mythological figures symbolizing strength and brotherhood. The interior was decorated with ornaments and decorations intended to showcase the prestige of the royal family. Among the notable features: • The Scissors Staircase, built for a wedding to provide a dramatic access to the bridal apartment. It is a brilliant Rococo work by Filippo Juvarra, which seems suspended in the air. • The Throne Room, with stucco, tapestries, and heraldic symbols, and a gilded wooden ceiling. • The Sabauda Gallery, with works of art from the Renaissance to the Baroque. • The Royal Apartments with original furnishings, frescoes, and sumptuous decorations. • The Swiss Hall with a monumental fireplace and a coffered wooden ceiling and fresco. 09/06/2025: While visiting Turin for the weekend, we went to this pizzeria early in the evening because we'd seen great reviews. We were looking for something simple and different for a quick bite. We weren't disappointed!! The concept of this pizzeria is great!! You can choose from several different types. Everything is sliced ​​in front of you and sold by weight, according to the size requested for each slice. It's a feast of colors and aromas. It's a far cry from your typical pizza. It's both crispy and soft, and you can tell that all the ingredients are very well cooked. It's an explosion in your mouth. The price/quality ratio is more than excellent, and the welcome is very friendly. We will definitely come back. A must-see in Turin!

10/08/2025: I returned after a long time and felt right at home...nothing has changed, the atmosphere, the courtesy and efficiency of the staff, the food is SPECTACULAR. Especially for those who love cuisine rooted in the local area but with imaginative and balanced pairings. The dessert trolley and a complimentary handout of cremini and house amaro complete the meal. Oh, and there's no menu; you interact with the very friendly staff...always highly recommended!

The breakfast, freshly prepared in the room, was a wonderful experience, thanks in part to the fresh, high-quality ingredients. The dinner at the restaurant deserves special mention, with excellent dishes at a fair price. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We'll be back... recommended.

27/07/2025: A pizzeria in the center of Turin with truly fantastic pizzas. Rectangular farinata 🔝. You can also order for home delivery and they arrive nice and steaming hot. It's worth 5 stars.

I only found the overall experience a bit pricey for the food, but it's certainly a good choice if you're looking for an exclusive restaurant in the city center.

02/08/2025: Best vegan cuisine in Turin. The owner is very kind and welcoming, and the staff is quick and friendly. The dishes are original and of excellent quality. The average price is quite low for the type of restaurant and the quality of the food.

29/07/2025: A vegan menu with a gluten-free option. The menu isn't huge, but it's definitely sufficient. The ingredients are also quite well prepared. I was a little disappointed with the tempeh, which I found too heavy, but it's a dish I like a little less, so I don't hold it against it. The restaurant is worth it if you want a vegan and gourmet meal. The wines that accompanied the meal were delicious.

You can start either from Campo Smith or from Fontana Giolitti (tough route). Courteous and friendly service. Good and well-made dishes. You can rent an umbrella and two deckchairs for €10. They have recently finished renovating the little house next door which they rent out both in the summer and winter.
