02/10/2025: On our way back from Tuscany, we were looking for a nice restaurant next to the highway.
At first glance, the place looks like a bar. The adjoining dining room is very nice and has a great atmosphere. The table was lovingly set, and the food was wonderful. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the price-performance ratio was excellent. I definitely recommend it.

02/10/2025: Aperitif for 4 Aperol we had to ask for an accompaniment (served without savoury snacks) they brought us 4 miserable pieces of focaccia (1 cm X 1 cm dry)!! Dorbolo !!!!!!!!!!!

04/09/2025: A very delicious starter (mixed seafood)! The pasta with crab was also wonderful, but the best part was the dessert! Incredibly friendly and cheerful service. Parking is available in the courtyard. It's worth leaving the coastal region and exploring the hinterland when you end up at a restaurant like this!

14/10/2025: We are two couples of friends who were returning from Illegio after visiting the exhibition entitled "Wealth: Perennial Dilemma." I must say that we found the true meaning of the word "Wealth" right here, in this Osteria where time seems to have stood still. A delightful place with hospitality, the right atmosphere, and the flavors of local specialties that were expertly recommended to us. The appetizer consisted of a trio of cheeses, polenta brustulada (toasted polenta), and whole salami that you cut yourself, followed by herb cjardons and wild boar on a bed of soft polenta. To round out our self-service lunch, we enjoyed homemade desserts (a tart with berries and a sublime tiramisu). The quality/price ratio was more than fair. We thank the owner and waiter for their impeccable service. We will definitely return.
03/10/2025: Family atmosphere, like in an old-fashioned tavern. Top local cured meats and cheeses! (They bring the salami whole on a cutting board and you can cut as many slices as you like.) I ordered a first course, and the chef (who comes to the table to tell me what's on offer) suggested the caramels filled with Trarassaco and 'buon enrico'—a wild mountain spinach—and cjarsons. The caramels were excellent, but the cjarsons were spectacular, among the best I've ever eaten. The filling was a perfect fusion of a thousand flavors, none overpowering the other. Fantastic. I'll be back soon. Very fair price.

14/09/2025: The best. It surpasses ALL the deli meats in the supermarkets: in fact, you won't find it in the malls. Hams hung on wooden scaffolding like they have been for thousands of years. Go there. Money well spent. They also have other good deli meats, but the prosciutto crudo is beyond.
06/08/2025: During a cultural tour, we had the pleasure of visiting the Prosciuttificio Il Camarin: an authentic and flavorful experience! Sergio and his mother welcomed us warmly, passionately sharing the history and production of their products. The hams were exceptional and the atmosphere was family-friendly. Nettle ravioli, cjarsons, venison goulash, tiramisu, and chocolate and pear cake, all washed down with Friulano and Merlot.

29/10/2025: A historic venue that maintains the quality that has always distinguished it. Nothing to complain about the menu overall, nor about what we had the pleasure of tasting. Appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, everything was perfect! (Of course, quality comes at a price, as it should be.) Table service was prompt and discreet, but the wait for the bill, at the end of the evening, seemed excessive. An unsolicited tip: tradition and history are fine, but the atmosphere feels a bit too old-fashioned. Intimacy is fine, but it's a shame to focus so much on darkness rather than light.
The internal parking lot is very large, and I didn't notice any particular barriers for those who might have difficulty getting around independently.
Highly recommended!

18/09/2025: Great place to stay and visit Trieste, Udine, Cividale, or travel further to Slovenia. Lucca and Paul are great hosts that immeriately make you feel at home. Pauls humor is unforgettable. So is the big pergola in front of the building, the biggest in Italy, Europe or even the world! While having breakfast or dinner under it, you have a wonderful view! This Agriturismo is a unique experience.
28/08/2025: This was our first time in Friuli and we were looking forward to the landscape, the towns, the food, the wine, the mountains, and the sea. While searching for a personally run agriturismo, we came across the friendly reviews of La Faula and felt completely at home there! Luca and Paul have created a very special place, with plenty of space for retreat and peace, as well as for meeting people and sharing their humanity. Thank you for your hospitality, the lovely breakfast, and the delicious dinner! We had a wonderful stay!

14/09/2025: We had dinner here. The staff were friendly and helpful, but they didn't always wait until my order was taken. I had to ask for something several times, and the wrong order was always delivered.
Not a good value. However, if you're passing through, it's a good option for a quick stop. The place is clean, and parking is available.

Sit down with your dog in the shade of a kiwi tree.
Francisco, the host with a heart of gold, and the staff are professional and courteous.
Crostini with melt-in-the-mouth lard, a rare Florentine steak that cuts like butter, and an excellent Merlot.
The millefeuille with berries and the homemade emulsifier sorbet are noteworthy.
Prices are in line with the quality of the food offered.

16/08/2025: Perfect hospitality – we were lucky enough to be able to reserve a table. In the glorious summer ambiance, we enjoyed the wonderful view from the terrace overlooking the hills of Corno di Rosazzo. The beautifully set table (with cloth napkins!) aroused anticipation for the following culinary experience. Our recommendation for the cold starter (antipasto) was a salad with sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, and the warm starter (primo) was a pasta made from Sarceno (buckwheat) with flavorful beef. You can only find it in Italy: seemingly simple, yet unique. For the main course (secondo) in this renowned meat temple, we chose "Bife de chorizo," an Argentinian sirloin steak, grilled whole to medium-rare, served with oven-baked potato wedges. Wonderful, just the perfect amount for two, wonderfully tender and flavorful! The service and the host, Francisco, were prompt and friendly! Everything was perfect, the homemade sorbetti (plum and pear) emphasized the special status of the house. Sparkling wine and wine from the owner's Perusini winery. The price was right. Oil from Parovel in Trieste! I couldn't think of anything better. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience with you. Best regards, Christian da Villaco
