The place is extremely welcoming, furnished in a traditional, homely style, with period objects and photographs, chosen by the owners, who are kind and make guests feel at home. The licorice liqueur, kindly offered at the end of the meal, is wonderful. Highly recommended for everyone, whether you're with family, alone, or with friends, whether you're just passing through, on vacation, or live in Bologna. 29/01/2026: Beautiful osteria. Typical Tuscan, plentiful food. I ordered a plate of incredibly tender tagliata, and I've never had such good food. I'd definitely go back when I'm in Bologna.

04/03/2026: A restaurant that doesn't have room for one person without a reservation on a Thursday night at 8:00 PM (one person, not two, three, four, five, or ten...) either has a budget problem or lacks a wide selection. Avoid. I went there specifically after reading the positive reviews.
28/02/2026: I strolled through Castel San Pietro Terme (if you're unfamiliar with this town, I recommend spending at least an afternoon there: a peaceful place with the immense Piazza XX Settembre, which is truly charming) and—via the internet—I found this restaurant. I had a wonderful experience: the place isn't very big and is very warm (perhaps due to the predominantly wood decor) and welcoming. The atmosphere is truly relaxing (I really appreciated the low volume of everyone's voices). As for the service, we were served by a very kind gentleman (the owner?) who was very good at guiding customers through their choices. The food was exquisite: the smallest tortellini I've ever seen in my entire life (I think that's the place's signature dish, you absolutely must try it), nettle gnocchi sautéed with gorgonzola, excellent fried fish… everything was truly delicious! The prices were absolutely reasonable.

17/02/2026: After being there years ago, I didn't have the chance to go back for about ten years. It was a good experience then, and even better after returning. It's not exactly a trattoria, more of a restaurant. Prices are average, but you still leave full. The cuisine features both traditional and more sophisticated elements, but everything is excellent, starting with the welcome offering of mortadella and capon meatballs. Fassona beef tartare, Jewish-style artichokes, crepes, and Brunello di Montalcino risotto—all spectacular, beautifully presented. The portions aren't truck-sized, but they're just right, and the desserts are excellent too. The menu changes about monthly, but it's always consistently top-notch. It's also nice to chat with the chef. They have a decent wine cellar, but I have to say the house red, Sangiovese, was still very good (I don't know if that was luck). The bill: for two, two first courses, two appetizers, two desserts, water, wine, total €90—well-deserved, and perhaps not even that much considering the quality.
14/02/2026: A truly sensory experience where the pleasure of taste exceeded every expectation. The dishes were beautiful to look at, the service excellent, and 5 stars for the chef, who is truly one of a kind.

08/03/2026: A restaurant in the center of Castel San Pietro, perfect for those in a hurry. The food is good, and the service is friendly and fast. The crescentine are delicious, as are the cured meats and cheeses. The coffee is excellent, a true espresso.

The other dishes we ordered were equally as good: everything was fresh, impeccably cooked, and generous portions. Welcoming place, and the staff were friendly and fast. We'll definitely be back.

02/02/2026: Everything was delicious, the hot and cold appetizers were truly spectacular, the seafood spaghetti was cooked to perfection, and to finish, it's one of the few places where they offer you limoncello and licorice at the end of the meal. Really good!

25/02/2026: I'd always meant to try it, at least for its fame when it was downtown. We stopped by last Sunday after the cinema, just before 10 pm, simply asking for dinner (there were two of us). At first glance, the place was run-down and half-empty (there were only two occupied tables in the entire place), but we wanted to grab a quick bite anyway, so we approached the checkout counter, which was free of line, and waited. The welcome from the girl at the counter was anything but friendly. She pointed us, with obvious annoyance, to a table near the entrance, literally under one of the speakers, as if there were no alternatives. The situation quickly deteriorated. There were no menus, but instead the room lights were off (we were supposed to eat in the dark, apparently), and to make matters worse, music suddenly started blasting so loud it was impossible to even talk. It would have been enough to say they didn't want or have the ability to serve us: we would have left immediately, which is exactly what we did. Welcoming guests is a fundamental aspect of a restaurant and should be handled by appropriate staff. With attitudes like this, one wonders what standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen. But if these are the premises, I'll leave the curiosity to those who don't ask too many questions about cleanliness and politeness. Good evening, I'm forced to respond here, since Google doesn't allow you to reply directly to the restaurant's responses. First of all, thank you for your truly enlightening reply! What can I say, the annoyed and sullen look of the girl at the register added a touch... let's say "special" to your famous charm. Birthday pranks can be funny and understandable, but given that the place was practically empty, perhaps it would have been more appropriate not to place us directly under the register. And the music... well, a minute is a very flexible concept, apparently. There are menus, of course, but precisely because the place was empty, as is usually the case in all establishments when the majority of tables are free, customers are given the option to choose their table, or at least provided options. Showing someone to their table is the bare minimum of courtesy, which shouldn't be lacking, especially if, as you say, your staff is committed to providing good customer service. Finally, if the person serving is clearly annoyed, it doesn't take a genius to understand that the attention might not be as high on other occasions. It's a legitimate thought, and one that comes naturally in certain circumstances. I repeat, it would have been enough to say, "We don't feel like serving you" or "We're closing," and we would have made other decisions without drama. Small details that make a difference... but I can understand why it's perhaps easier to ignore them. Have a good evening.

The family enjoyed the delicious tortelloni with butter and sage, the gramigna with susizza, the stew as soft as polenta, the locally grown vegetables. Matteo, like everyone else, enjoyed the famous crescentine with squacquerone cheese and assorted cured meats from your own production. Thank you, we had a wonderful time with a wonderful view.
