01/03/2026: The dining room—and what can I say? I discovered it a few years ago and fell in love with it. Special Tuscan dishes and refined cuisine, perfectly executed down to the last detail, and the waiter's explanation of the ingredients' provenance was delightful. In my opinion, their signature dish is the fillet steak with Brunello di Montalcino, simply delicious.
The only downside is the cleanliness; there's dust on the shelves that triggered allergic rhinitis. I highly recommend paying more attention to cleanliness to truly enjoy the best.
12/02/2026: A very quaint, traditional Tuscan restaurant with delicious dishes. The gnudi are simply delicious, with fresh spinach and a fabulous sauce. We'll definitely be back to try other delicacies.

The place isn't very big.
The menu is typical Piedmontese.
The tartare was very good, but the veal with tuna sauce and the tongue with greens were also delicious.
If you're craving a first course, try the tajerin or plin; you won't regret it.
Prices are in line with the area.
Reservations are absolutely essential.

24/03/2026: Excellent first courses. Tagliatelle with rabbit ragù was superb. The ribs were very tender, though it was a shame they were too fatty. The desserts were good. A drinkable and pleasant house Merlot.

I recommend the Pea Soup, which really brings out the natural flavor of the ingredients.
The Chianina Fillet (steak) and Truffle Tagliolini are also
fantastically delicious.

I am currently staying at La Bandita.
The accommodation is very clean and nice (though the sink felt a bit clogged),
but the restaurants are also excellent.
I was planning to travel all over Tuscany by rental car,
but I think I won't be able to leave Pienza... haha.
Restaurants in Pienza are generally of a higher standard than in Rome.
I don't know if it's the difference between tourist food businesses and local eateries, but
unlike Rome, every restaurant and dessert place I go to is a success.
Among them, La Bandita is the highlight👍
I said "Buono~ 👍" to the chef, and he happily gave me a high-five🙌 haha.
I'll be back tomorrow :)

The reason Italian steaks are exceptionally red: 'Chianina' cattle
'Chianina' is one of the world's largest and oldest cattle breeds, characterized by low fat (marbling) and firm muscle mass. Because it has low fat content, there are fewer white areas when grilled, revealing the meat's natural bright red proteins.
Although it may appear undercooked due to the low fat content, heat has often penetrated deep into the meat, making it actually more cooked than it looks.
Additionally, Italian chefs' 'medium' is closer to the Korean standard of 'medium rare.'
Since the meat is so thick (usually 4-5 cm), they prefer a cooking method where the outside is seared to lock in the juices while keeping the inside tender.

I ordered an omelet (cheese and onion) and it was delicious.

Beef Tartare: I didn't know ginger went this well with tartare! The chili tasted like gochujang, so it paired well. It was an antipasto (appetizer), but the portion was enormous—it felt like I could make two servings of tteokgalbi at home.
Bandita Burger: They stacked it high, making it great for taking photos, and it tasted great too👍 It was delicious with the Pecorino cheese.
* Pecorino Cheese: The milk of sheep (Pecora) raised on the grass and herbs of the 'Val d'Orcia' plains is infused with a distinctive fragrant flavor. Pecorino is made from this Pecorino milk.
Tagliatelle: Fresh and good with basil pesto.
Tartare of Chianina beef with sweet and sour wasabi, ginger, and chili.
"Bandita Burger" with melted pecorino cheese, grilled bun, and mayonnaise, topped with crispy guanciale, fried egg, and french fries.
Tagliatelle with basil pesto and Parmesan shavings.

Ossobuco Ravioli: Braised oxtail is inside the ravioli, and it is delicious. The foie gras is tasty and not fishy at all, though the portion isn't huge (it just looks small in comparison because the portions of other dishes are so large).
Lamb: Despite the appearance that makes you look like you're going to grab the leg and tear into it, it is delicious with no gamey smell.
Tiramisu: It was so good I ate it again lol.
Chocolate + Miso: A sweet and salty revolution created from a combination that seems impossible..! Be sure to try it⭐️

The real star, however, is the cuisine...where everything is delicious, prepared by the two chefs, Aldo and Giorgio, who are friendly and kind...and I forgot, HIGH-QUALITY FOOD.
The service is impeccable: the staff stands out for their professionalism, kindness, and helpfulness. We'll definitely be back.
06/03/2026: We were on our way to Rome and while searching online we came across this restaurant. A delightful discovery that will definitely become our go-to spot when we return to Palma di Campania. The choice between a full menu and a half menu is truly excellent, the portions are more than adequate, and above all, you can taste the authentic flavors of the artisanally prepared food. Highly recommended.

22/02/2026: In the mountains near San Donato di Ninea, there's a mountain hut, Baita Malieni, family-run first by Luigi (the father) and now (with his father, but not necessarily) by his son Giuseppe. Both are exceptional, welcoming guests with the same warmth that's found inside the hut: finally, a truly heated restaurant/pizzeria. We ate delicious dishes: from appetizers to first courses, meat-based main courses, pizza, and desserts. There was nothing that wasn't a delight. Everything was divine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The dishes are carefully prepared, full of flavor, and always accompanied by a bit of history, which I was pleasantly informed about with each service.
There are many details, not trivial ones, that make a dinner truly enjoyable: fresh flowers on the table, well-made place settings, a pleasant background music.
