In the mountains near San Donato di Ninea, there's a mountain hut, Baita Malieni, family-run first by Luigi (the father) and now (with his father, but not necessarily) by his son Giuseppe. Both are exceptional, welcoming guests with the same warmth that's found inside the hut: finally, a truly heated restaurant/pizzeria. We ate delicious dishes: from appetizers to first courses, meat-based main courses, pizza, and desserts. There was nothing that wasn't a delight. Everything was divine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance during our trip to Calabria... and thankfully so! We ate divinely, with generous portions and authentic flavors at a truly fair price. Thanks to Luigi, he's an incredible character: incredibly friendly, welcoming, and hardworking. Congratulations to all the staff for their kindness and friendliness. We'll definitely be back!
