31/08/2025: Trattoria Sant'Anna, pleasantly located in the historic center of Gangi, is a great surprise. The menu is varied, from appetizers to main courses, all traditional dishes made with the freshest ingredients and locally sourced produce. The fresh pasta with creamed zucchini, stracciatella, crispy speck, and chopped pistachios, as well as the osso buco and shank, are all noteworthy. A good selection of desserts is also available, all homemade. The service is prompt and the staff are professional: specifically, the dynamic and professional Roberto, the friendly and helpful Giusy, and the young and very polite Samuele (known as Aldo). The privilege of eating on the restaurant's spacious terrace, with its truly magical atmosphere, is rare and appreciated. I highly recommend Trattoria Sant'Anna to anyone who wants an authentic culinary experience at a good price. Word of the tour operator.

02/09/2025: Good Puccia in the center of Lecce. There's no parking nearby, so they only do takeout unless you have a table. The place obviously doesn't have a bathroom. The prices aren't cheap, as is the case in almost all of Salento these days.

30/08/2025: Excellent Puccia, historic center, fair prices. Very cute place with all the dedications. There's limited seating. If you're downtown and want something traditional and good without spending too much, come here. You won't regret it.

17/08/2025: Located on a small side street near Piazza San Marco. A nice restaurant with no frills but very stylish with very good food and a great wine list. Whether you just want a pizza (very tasty) or a full menu, you will always feel welcome with the best service. Or you can have a really good cocktail mixed for you - ask for a gin cocktail, you will be surprised.

17/09/2025: Writing this in a spirit of euphoria still sitting at my table at the RistoPub Rossini, after having been served the best onion rings I have ever had, and a “Venice Burger” which honoured the city’s name through its over-the-top three tier culinary spectacle. The spectacular food wouldn't have mattered had it not been served with the attention, care, and smile of the friendly waiting staff who had been as happy as the entire atmosphere of the place. If you need a break from pizzas and pastas (not that that’s the whole spectrum of Italian cuisine), and are reminiscing a bit of the 90s, then, this is your place. It’s somewhat hidden in an alley - and that works, because the patrons here are of a different sort!! Highly recommended!

16/09/2025: Very nice rooms (the Garden Suite even has a balcony), delicious dishes and a wide selection in the restaurant with a great outdoor area (where you can also sit for breakfast), a very friendly hostess, and a superb central location in the old town. Free parking is about 200 meters from the accommodation. It was a perfect two-night stay at the end of a crossing of the Alps!
