Warm environment, with attention to detail, with a quiet and no-frills atmosphere. The staff is kind, attentive, present at the right time. The cuisine is the real strong point: traditional dishes, well executed, with clear flavors and quality ingredients. You can feel that there is passion behind every course. The recommended wine was perfect to accompany dinner. Fair prices, generous portions, punctual service. A restaurant where you eat well and feel at home. Highly recommended for those looking for authenticity and taste.

16/06/2025: Tucked away on a charming cobblestone street in the heart of Trastevere, Tonnarello Scala offers the kind of dining experience that makes you fall in love with Rome all over again. I stopped by for a solo lunch and ordered the meatballs with oxtail sauce, paired with a glass of the house white (Bianca)—and I’m still thinking about it. The meatballs were rich, hearty, and absolutely bursting with flavor. The oxtail sauce was a revelation—deep, savory, and full of character, like it had been slow-cooked with love for hours. Accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes and sautéed greens, the plate was rustic Roman cuisine at its finest. The crispy flatbread served on the side added a perfect crunch and was ideal for scooping up every last bit of sauce. The house white wine was crisp, well-balanced, and a perfect companion to the dish—refreshing without overpowering the flavors. The setting? Pure magic. Sitting al fresco, watching the world go by on a historic Roman street, with the soft echo of laughter and conversation around you—it’s what dining in Italy should feel like. Attentive service, generous portions, and that uniquely Roman charm make Tonnarello Scala a must-visit. 29/08/2025: We had a great meal there; this restaurant was recommended to us by an Italian woman who knows the place. We had pasta (the medium portion is already difficult to finish) and a tiramisu: we enjoyed it! P.S.: Some say the carbo pasta is too salty; having eaten several in Rome, they're no saltier than the others.

27/08/2025: As a person I usually only post reviews for places that I think deserve it and this place is the best place I’ve eaten outside of my country and even if I compared it to the restaurants at home it would be in the top 3 maybe even higher, the attention was excellent the only place where the people serving spoke Spanish and English and talking to the servers you could the joy of working in a restaurant. To finalize I would like to use the words that the son of the owner told me When you enter this restaurant you do it as a client when you return you do it as a friend

02/08/2025: It leaves you in a good mood. Elegant yet familiar atmosphere. Tasty gratinated red mullet fillets accompanied by a fabulous mix of seafood appetizers! Everything was super fresh. To finish, zabaglione ice cream with TOP caramel strands. Friendly staff, especially Angela! Perfect in her role!

17/08/2025: I've been going there for 13 years (having lived in the country twice) and it's still my fave pizzeria in the area, the pasta is also lovely. A hidden gem, amazing staff, wholesome food and a real Italian feel. They always change orders to accommodate my diet, remembered me after I'd come back from a 4 year stint away and always treat me with family!

16/08/2025: If you want authentic Italian food in Rome, this is the place for you! An authentic Roman restaurant where you sit among locals and feel right at home! The pasta and pizza are fantastic, the steak is grilled to perfection, and the tiramisu is amazing! Be sure to drink the limoncello after your meal 🍋 We ate there twice with four people, and everything was "Perfetto!"

27/08/2025: A cappuccino and a croissant cost 7 euros, I'm speechless. Honestly, there are tons of cafes in the area. A cappuccino and croissant in Rome costs 3 euros maximum.

06/08/2025: We came as a family and felt truly welcomed, right at home. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere of this Hosteria is something you rarely find: kindness, attentiveness, and impeccable service, especially with our children. The beef tartare with stracciatella was simply delicious, so much so that I wanted to order it again! My wife's sliced beef arrived exactly as she requested, perfectly cooked and flavorful. We started with a porchetta appetizer; perhaps the only small point that could be improved was the orange marmalade, which we weren't convinced by... but the staff took our comment with helpfulness and kindness, immediately suggesting alternatives for next time. A sign of true professionalism! The tuna pizza was excellent, even if a little richer in oil than expected, but still tasty. The strawberry dessert didn't inspire us at first, but then, upon tasting it, we appreciated the genuine, natural flavor of the fruit. In short: excellent quality, top-notch meat, kind and attentive staff, and an atmosphere that exudes human warmth. We'll definitely be back whenever we want some good meat and to feel like family. Congratulations!

08/09/2025: Amazing food and the glass of Chardonnay we had was excellent!!! On the other side, one of the waiter had attitudes and it was a bit uncomfortable.

06/09/2025: Had a truly spectacular meal. Four course meal and each course is worth coming back for again. The service was exceptional. Second time there and it was consistent. So I am sold on the quality of both the food and the service.

29/08/2025: We sat down for a soft drink and an Aperol spritz, and they didn't charge the service fee as if we'd been eating. The service was almost more expensive than the drinks. I don't recommend it.

06/08/2025: Osteria la Foglietta is a typical Roman osteria where you can enjoy traditional Roman cuisine. The place isn't very large, but the tables are arranged to allow both staff and customers plenty of room. The decor is rustic but not overwhelming; in fact, it gave me a sense of a relaxed, family atmosphere. The food was simple but well-prepared (I had eggplant parmigiana and amatriciana, and my wife had a platter of chicken with peppers). I personally enjoyed the parmigiana, and the amatriciana was good, but the guanciale was sliced too thinly and barely tasted. Overall, it wasn't a bad dish. The chicken with peppers was well-done, and the charcuterie platter was made with good-quality ingredients. The staff who served us was attentive and punctual, and the price was more than fair.
