11/12/2025: What can I say: a unique show! We shared a table with strangers who we later became friends with, and that in itself is amazing🥰. We ate everything because the dishes were delicious... the meat was cooked to perfection. The show is unique, as is the fact that when someone insults you, it just makes you laugh out loud. I think they're true artists, and that's why we'll be back🤗. Highly recommended.

15/12/2025: We ordered oxtail stew and chicken Roman-style... after 2 minutes, the dishes were served immediately. In your opinion... 😉... is it good to eat? And they charge a good price for these reheated dishes. PS. (I WANT TO COUNTER THE OWNER WHO RESPONDED TO THE REVIEW) From what little experience I have in the kitchen, these special dishes that require preparation... are usually cooked halfway and then put in the blast chiller; the next day, a portion is brought to temperature and, if ordered, finished cooking... waiting time for the rest of the cooking time is half an hour!? IT COULD ALSO BE GOLDEN VEAL! BUT YOUR MAIN COURSES IN QUESTION, SERVED AFTER A FEW MINUTES, WERE AT LEAST 2 DAYS OLD, PLACED IN THE FRIDGE, AND THEN THEY CAUSED NAUSEA AND STOMACH ACHES 😉 I HOPE THE ASL OR NAS COME FOR A DAY EVERY NOW AND THEN

03/12/2025: I've been frequenting Focolare forever (a Monteverde delicacy), and it's always been a go-to for family lunches and after-theater drinks. However, I've been disappointed twice, so I decided to write about it! Scaloppine with porcini mushrooms was watery and bland. Bruschetta with burrata and anchovies was TINY (two thin slices of baguette). Spaghetti with clams, perhaps equivalent to half a portion, and also bland (no salt in the water, clams are fine, but a little salt is needed). The house white wine was sweet and slightly sweet. Fried food (Milanese cutlet and fried vegetables) was made with a Chinese-style batter, firm and tough, and detached. The cutlet was half raw. In short!!!! If the sous-chefs, and I don't know the chef, don't know Italian cuisine (because they were born elsewhere), it's not their fault. But I, paying what I pay at Il Focolare, expect the taste of grandma's cooking, not the invented one they think is Italian cuisine, which is what it takes. What's going on? Third time and then I'm never coming back.

23/11/2025: I always gladly return, with a warm welcome and excellent food. I've often brought friends here, and they've always been amazed by the courtesy of the service and the cuisine. You feel right at home, and you see so many families celebrating birthdays. What can I say about the zabaglione, made in front of the guests? A real coup de théâtre, with elegance and mastery. When they ask me about a restaurant in Rome, "Il Focolare," the answer is undeniable.

04/12/2025: I had the carbonara and amatriciana. They were less salty and more flavorful. The price was similar to other restaurants, but the portions were generous!

02/12/2025: Food was good. Service was pretty bad especially considering the price point.

02/12/2025: A square table is perfect for a large group. Delicious sharing appetizers followed by fresh pasta served in the hollowed-out cheese tray at the table. Freshly prepared tiramisu was then served at the table. Excellent service! It was relatively busy and noisy due to other large groups present.

23/11/2025: Truly wonderful service in the wheel at the table + Tiramisu made in front of you, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

20/10/2025: This restaurant is very large but despite this the service is attentive and fast. The location is very suggestive even if it was an autumn evening we didn't eat outside where there is a view of the Tiber. The pizzottelle are all good and the dough is very crispy, I also had the tonnarelli cacio pepe e fiori which were really excellent, also the pizza is thin Roman style but well topped, rice supplì are worth trying with a very tasty sauce, the tagliata tender and well cooked. The only thing is that the inside is a little old but still welcoming. I recommend trying it because you won't regret it!

19/10/2025: Very trendy place, so very crowded and chaotic. Very slow service. Top-notch meat and pizzoccheri. So-so side dishes. Right-so price.

11/12/2025: Terrible pasta. Not sure why this place is rated so highly. We tried 3 different ones, they were not authentic at all and didn’t taste good. Carbonara was cold and pastas weren’t fresh. Definitely don’t recommend.

10/12/2025: We had a fantastic carbonara, fresh homemade patata, it takes you back to the flavors of the past. Excellent in every way.

08/12/2025: We were there on December 8th. We ate well and drank just as much. It's a historic place, and the owner, Isabella, is very cool...but don't go in large numbers because Isabella says she can't do it anymore :) :)...Best regards, and see you next time, if you want to 😀 😃

07/12/2025: After months and months of watching videos, I wondered if it was really like this? Yesterday I had lunch with my family and I can say that the reality far exceeded my imagination. The carbonara deserves applause, but the porchetta and burrata ravioli are fantastic. The prices? Much more than fair for the quantity and quality. Fantastic

21/12/2025: A cozy restaurant with friendly service. We chose the anniversary menu with accompanying wines. The food was delicious. I'll definitely eat here again next time I'm in Rome.

12/11/2025: The food here was excellent! I had the • Ravioli al Limone con Gamberi Pomodorini e Rucola € 20,00 and my wife had the Rigatoni alla Carbonara con Guanciale .€ 16,00 and a glass of wine and all was very flavourful.

03/11/2025: It's like a traditional eatery in Spain. It's very popular with Romans and regulars. In Trastevere, it offers excellent value for money. The portions are generous; the calzone is overflowing. They have typical Roman dishes other than pasta and pizza. The taxi driver who took us to Trastevere recommended it.

27/10/2025: The best pasta is Popi-Popi, delicious pizzas, and prices are very reasonable.

16/11/2025: Spectacular lunch with friends in Zagarolo! Traditional Roman and Abruzzo cuisine, but also some well-chosen variations. The cheese, tripe, and coratella meatballs were exceptional. After a delicious glass of red wine, I continued with homemade mushroom pasta and a Romanesco broccoli with garlic, oil, and chili pepper sauce that was a delight. I also tried some of the tagliata my partner had, and I loved it. The homemade desserts were delicious. I tried the tiramisu and the Marsala zabaglione, which were truly delicious. The head waiter was very attentive and courteous. There's ample parking on the access road to Zagarolo, then an elevator and two flights of stairs lead to the upper dining room. Otherwise, you can park on the upper street and access it directly from there. We'll be happy to return; there were several items on the menu I'd have liked to try, including the queue. See you next time!

05/11/2025: The restaurant is very charming and welcoming, with a pleasant atmosphere and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with great courtesy and professionalism: the service was truly impeccable, attentive but never intrusive. We had the opportunity to try several dishes and were completely satisfied. First courses: the scampi risotto was creamy and flavorful, the tagliolini with oxtail sauce was a pleasant surprise—a perfect combination of sea and land—while the fettuccine with mushrooms had a forest aroma and the perfect consistency. Second courses: the oxtail was excellent, tender and full of flavor; the sea bass and swordfish were also very good, both carefully cooked and delicately flavored. The portions are generous, the quality of the ingredients is clearly evident, and the price is absolutely fair and proportionate to what you receive. In conclusion, a restaurant that combines good cuisine, impeccable service, and a relaxed atmosphere. A truly wonderful discovery, I recommend it to anyone looking for good food and a pleasant evening of flavor and friendliness. We'll definitely be back!
