Da Olimpio In Roma

We went without planning and had a very good dinner. The pizzas were good and the calamari was tasty. What we liked most was the dessert: panna cotta. It's not exactly groundbreaking, but it's fine for a place in a tourist area.

Discovering trattorias in Rome, we found this fantastic one. Delicious pizzas, great service, and finally air conditioning! Don't hesitate to stop by.

We went on the recommendation of the tour guide, but I have to say I wouldn't go back. For dinner as a couple, we had to wait a little while outside, though not too long. We were seated at a table for four next to an older couple from Canada. They separated the table by about a foot, but we practically ate together. At least the couple was friendly. The service is fast, but the atmosphere is a bit chaotic; it's stressful sitting down to eat there with the commotion of the tables and the waiters rushing to serve and clear quickly. You barely finish before they're already taking your plate away. We ordered a lasagna and a pizza to share; they were good, but nothing special. To drink, we ordered a large bottle of water (1L as indicated on the menu) and they brought us a pitcher of tap water. I would be ashamed to charge almost €3 for tap water without ice or anything, no matter how drinkable it is. They gave me a dirty glass, and I only realized it after I had already poured the water. It's true they took it away immediately when they saw me trying to see what was in the glass and brought me a clean new one without me even asking, but they didn't give me any more water (they took the full glass away without even tasting it). I'm giving it 3 stars because the food wasn't bad, but I think there are better options in Rome.

It's a bit of a lottery when it comes to the taste of the pasta, because my partner's was very good, while my tomato sauce and olives were one big mess, tasteless but with a whole palette of pepper.

Traditional Roman food and bar. Everything was delicious and the waiters were very friendly. Nothing like your typical tourist traps. It was recommended to us on a tour and it was fantastic.

We visited Da Olimpio based on a recommendation from our hotel. The pasta dishes were decent but didn't really stand out. One member of our group ordered the veal and unfortunately did not enjoy it, as the flavor just wasn't to their liking. Overall, it was an average dining experience. While it may appeal to others, it didn't quite meet our expectations based on the recommendation.
