24/06/2025: A place that knows how to welcome, not just serve. La Taverna della Scala is one of those places where you gladly return, because it leaves you with something more than just good food. Warm environment, with attention to detail, with a quiet and no-frills atmosphere. The staff is kind, attentive, present at the right time. The cuisine is the real strong point: traditional dishes, well executed, with clear flavors and quality ingredients. You can feel that there is passion behind every course. The recommended wine was perfect to accompany dinner. Fair prices, generous portions, punctual service. A restaurant where you eat well and feel at home. Highly recommended for those looking for authenticity and taste.

04/12/2025: I was in the area, reading the reviews I had no doubts, I sat down for lunch with my daughter..... I got to the point of asking if the chef was Italian..... They served me a carbonara, eaten because I was hungry, which was such a mess that it would put the entire Roman people to shame.... Lemon meatballs are better left alone..... Rigatoni alla coda is the only dish with a minimum of taste but due to the type of dish, strong in flavors, but so full of bones that you risk drowning......in short, I repeat what has been posted many times.... GENTLEMEN, FEEDBACK is a very important thing, it helps to avoid finding yourself in situations like this, I ate, I REPEAT, because I was hungry at this point, better a good healthy sandwich of any kind, be careful, than being ripped off and ruining a rare moment of conviviality with your daughter...... TERRIBLE

23/07/2025: Cenare da Mario significa immergersi nell'essenza della cucina capitolina, perché questo ritorante offre un'esperienza che va ben oltre il semplice pasto. Ogni consiglio del personale è prezioso, ogni spiegazione rivela l'amore per gli ingredienti selezionati e le ricette tramandate. Il ritmo del servizio segue quello naturale della convivialità italiana: mai affrettato, sempre attento. I piatti sono eccellenti ed anche i contorni, spesso trascurati altrove, qui brillano di luce propria. Il conto finale sorprende positivamente: prezzi onesti per una qualità che supera le aspettative. Da Mario non si va solo per mangiare, ma per vivere Roma attraverso i suoi sapori più autentici. Un'esperienza da ripetere assolutamente.

22/07/2025: Un ristorante speciale, datato con cucina di una volta. Che altro dire, se vuoi mangiare la vera cucina romana sei nel posto giusto.. Camerieri preparati ed educati, cucina di casa con sapori e prezzi onestissimi Carta dei vini fantastica, prezzi più che ragionevoli e scelta tra quasi 200 etichette Torneremo sicuramente Piatti romani, carne tartufo e funghi di livello altissimo Grazie per l ESPERIENZA

20/11/2025: We walked across from the collosum to this place as my girlfriend liked the gluten free selection we heard they sold. No gluten free listed on the menu outside, and was closed on a busy Saturday afternoon meaning out walk was wasted 🤷🏻 Edit: After reading your reply I wish I could change it to zero stars. How rude 🤷🏻 You were listed on the Daily Telegraph top ten restaurants in Rome and it says there gluten free. I'll contact them and make sure they remove you as a recommendation 🤷🏻🤷🏻

10/11/2025: Excellent trattoria, excellent food and service. The place could use a bit of a refresh, but the core business is truly excellent. 1 bruschetta, 2 tortelloni stuffed with artichokes and cherry tomatoes, 1 sausage and baked potato, all excellent. We didn't order wine to avoid any problems later... Price: €58. You be the judge...

20/11/2025: A beautiful location on the Appian Way, surrounded by greenery and history, just a short distance from Rome's historic center and with ample on-site parking. Very friendly and helpful staff, and excellent food.

20/09/2025: I ordered tiramisu and Aperol. It tasted exactly like in Germany. Now I don't know if the Germans can make it as well as the Italians, or if the Italians were as bad as the Germans.

03/10/2025: The atmosphere was lovely, the service was incredible (the waiter, Andrea, speaks a little Portuguese and is very helpful). I had the shrimp parpadeli, which was spectacular. For dessert, we had tiramisu, which was good, but the cannoli was divine. If we return to Rome, this will definitely be a must-see for dinner.

09/11/2025: A small but warm and welcoming place. I tried almost everything except the first courses (which I'd love to return for). For appetizers, we had mixed fried fish (original with unusual ingredients like pears, for example) and a portion of fried artichokes, all truly delicious. Followed by three different main courses with side dishes. My dish, prawns cooked like saltimbocca saltimbocca a la Romana (wrapped in prosciutto and sage), was very good, perhaps just a bit too salty. Among the desserts, I strongly advise against the tiramisu, more for the chestnuts than for the fact that it's definitely made with cream, but the semifreddo was good. The coffee is truly special, but they don't have decaf. There were certainly only a few staff serving, which made things a bit slower, but their friendliness made up for it. For all this, plus liqueurs and a liter of white wine, we paid €42 each.

08/11/2025: A modern osteria serving both traditional dishes and slightly revisited ones. Simple and friendly service. I'd say it's definitely a great place to try.

13/12/2025: My family and I had dinner last week. Everything was delicious, but the tagliolini with white truffle was AMAZING...CONGRATULATIONS.

06/12/2025: Wow! A friend took us here and we were not disappointed to say the least. Artichokes, fried zucchini flowers, pasta alla carbonara, saltimboca and wine were amazing! Great selection of wine as well and the service was top notch!

13/12/2025: Ricciotti Restaurant is a true local establishment, reflecting the characteristics of an inn from another era. The restaurant is surrounded by a solid wood boaserie and the furnishings are typical of inns. In summer, you can also dine outside, where you can enjoy a unique atmosphere with a view right in front of Castel Gandolfo Lake. The food is delicious, especially the bucatini all'amatriciana. The main courses and pizzas (cooked in a wood-fired oven) are also excellent. The prices are reasonable, and the service is pleasant. It's run by several young people who wait on tables. All in all, it's a family-friendly place to eat, with a castle-like atmosphere and at a reasonable price.
