15/12/2025: A great find, both for the unique menu and the location. The ingredients are excellent, and the "non-classic" starters on the specialty menu are delicious. The service is reliable and accurate. I'm not a local, but I'd go back for lunch.

14/03/2026: I went for dinner yesterday. The place was very noisy; the waiter seemed in a hurry to clear the table. The price wasn't exactly cheap.

11/03/2026: Quick lunch with a very affordable lunch menu. A generous and delicious first course, with a menu based on the daily special. Excellent for a lunch break.

15/11/2025: Risotto with scampi cream and fried calamari 🔝🔝🔝, the house specialty. Huge portions!!! Good value for money, especially since you eat so much that if you go for lunch, you might skip dinner.

23/07/2025: Cenare da Mario significa immergersi nell'essenza della cucina capitolina, perché questo ritorante offre un'esperienza che va ben oltre il semplice pasto. Ogni consiglio del personale è prezioso, ogni spiegazione rivela l'amore per gli ingredienti selezionati e le ricette tramandate. Il ritmo del servizio segue quello naturale della convivialità italiana: mai affrettato, sempre attento. I piatti sono eccellenti ed anche i contorni, spesso trascurati altrove, qui brillano di luce propria. Il conto finale sorprende positivamente: prezzi onesti per una qualità che supera le aspettative. Da Mario non si va solo per mangiare, ma per vivere Roma attraverso i suoi sapori più autentici. Un'esperienza da ripetere assolutamente.

22/07/2025: Un ristorante speciale, datato con cucina di una volta. Che altro dire, se vuoi mangiare la vera cucina romana sei nel posto giusto.. Camerieri preparati ed educati, cucina di casa con sapori e prezzi onestissimi Carta dei vini fantastica, prezzi più che ragionevoli e scelta tra quasi 200 etichette Torneremo sicuramente Piatti romani, carne tartufo e funghi di livello altissimo Grazie per l ESPERIENZA

28/02/2026: Beautiful homely, honest and authentic little gem off the beaten track. Make the effort to stray away from the main square and get rewarded with brilliantly authentic pasta, table wine 🍷 (excellent value by the way), perfect tiramisu, reasonable pricing and warm, family-focused service. Discover tris fritto also. Really wonderful antidote to the traditional tourist fare. Grazie mille!

20/03/2026: I am leaving this review because there are no reviews from Koreans. I ate here with an Asian friend, and both the Carbonara and Rigatoni were too salty for our taste. Italian food tends to be salty in general, but I felt these were a bit too salty even compared to the pastas I've had while traveling. We also ordered the lamb, which was slightly better, but compared to the typical lamb I've eaten, it was very tender and tasted more like well-grilled chicken.

19/03/2026: We had a lovely and very authentic experience at Armando al Pantheon. The atmosphere feels truly Roman, and the restaurant is clean, well-kept, and very attentive to detail. The staff were excellent - professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can feel that they really care about their guests, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation since we arrived right at opening time, but I would definitely recommend booking in advance to be safe. We ordered the carbonara and the cacio e pepe. The carbonara was excellent - rich, balanced, and exactly what you expect from a classic Roman dish. The cacio e pepe, I understand, is a matter of personal taste, but for me it was a bit too salty. The waiter kindly explained that this is normal due to the cheese and that it’s meant to be that way, though it was still slightly too much for my preference. Despite that, everything else was spot on - from the service to the overall atmosphere. It’s one of those places where you feel taken care of without it being over the top. Overall, prices are very reasonable for the quality, location, and level of service. A great spot for an authentic Roman meal - definitely worth visiting.

25/02/2026: I visited here on the recommendation of a Korean guide, and since it seemed like a lot of Koreans go there, I trusted them. The food was generally on the expensive side, and the seasoning was a bit bland for my taste. The taste was okay. When I was paying after my meal, the total bill of €129 already included a €10 service charge. One of the staff members asked me to include a tip on my card if I wanted to tip. I asked if the service charge was already included, and they tried to pressure me into tipping. I added an extra €10 to the atmosphere, but after I checked, I learned that in Italy, tipping isn't required if the service charge is included. I was disappointed that they asked for an additional tip when they accepted the service charge. Also, I was a little taken aback by the change in attitude after I tipped, even though they didn't respond when I was first seated. It was the final payment process that left me feeling more offended than the food itself, making this a disappointing visit.

31/01/2026: Decent food, seemed like a local spot. Wait staff was very nice and tried hard and ambiance was ok with bright lighting, marble floors and simple tables. Had a cafe style feel, but descriptions of food and wine were lacking and they seemed understaffed.

20/01/2026: We were invited to dinner and everything went very well.

13/03/2026: After the restaurant moved down from the 1st floor to street level it’s a very different place. Gone is the charming little place with local staff in smaller dining rooms and good atmosphere. It’s now massive, cold and with awful lightning. I have been coming here for 25 years but last time was such a change and disappointment.

04/03/2026: We went for dinner and have no complaints other than everything was delicious. We ordered two dishes to share and left feeling completely full. Both the portions and prices were very reasonable, and the quality was excellent. We'll definitely be back.

21/02/2026: Unfortunately, with the new management and the owner's death, they decided to add bread and service charges, which were never included. Furthermore, they no longer offered the appetizer buffet, which was a must. The prices for all dishes have increased significantly. This is a neighborhood restaurant, and I don't think it's smart to continue with this system.

19/01/2026: The atmosphere was nice and the appetizer, fried artichoke, was delicious. The first course, gricia (a dish of cheese dipped in oil), was disappointing, and the price was too high for the quality of the dish.

08/03/2026: Everything was delicious, especially the pasta alla gricia, the chicory, and the coda alla vaccinara. Recommended!

03/03/2026: Mediocre. The food arrived at the table in a minute, presumably pre-cooked and reheated on the spot. The service was sloppy and rude, and the prices were more like a restaurant than a tavern! It's a shame; once upon a time, this was a place where you could be sure of good home cooking.

06/01/2026: The traditional flight of the Befana in Piazza Navona was cancelled due to adverse weather, but we consoled ourselves with a delightful stop at the nearby restaurant "La Pollarola." It was worth the trip to sample the delicious dishes and their famous zabaglione. The staff was attentive and discreet. Highly recommended.
