17/02/2026: Waalrast is always our first stop when we arrive in Lana for our beloved South Tyrol holidays. I've known this restaurant since 2006, and even as a little boy, I was captivated by the stunning view. The food is very traditional and delicious. You can also enjoy Waalrast as a rest stop after admiring the adjacent Brandis Waalweg trail with its beautiful location and breathtaking views. It's simply a must-visit for us on every South Tyrol holiday, and a visit always brings back wonderful memories. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

27/01/2026: We stayed this weekend with bed and breakfast. We had a great time. The dinner was traditional and hearty, and pizza was also available for lunch. The breakfast was truly delicious. Recommended for relaxing with friends. Excellent location. RECOMMENDED

26/01/2026: I ate at this hotel's restaurant during a visit to the historic village of Silandro (home to the tallest bell tower in Tyrol—about 100 meters). The day I visited, there were also Christmas markets (that weekend only). Excellent traditional Val Venosta cuisine. The wait staff was very punctual, precise, and available to satisfy all guest requests. Rating: excellent (the highest possible)....

04/02/2026: Great location, convenient to so many activities in the South Tyrol. Fabulous food and service, though as I now read the reviews I realize that the reason I found their bread and pastries to be just a little less than wonderful was that it was all gluten free. (But still tasty, and the rest of the food was superb.) Loved the pool and sauna areas, but the rooftop hot tub was really only a "tepid tub" and was not really usable during our winter stay because it wasn't adequately heated. Lovely spacious and quiet room. But the bed was too firm for us and there was no way to adjust the temperature to our particular taste, so for us the room was always too hot, especially at night. They offer guided snowshoe hikes in the winter (which was the primary reason we were there), but for our entire week the only available hikes were quite strenuous, and we could only manage to do one of them. (We noted that the following week, after we would be gone, that there were easier hikes offered.) So while I do recommend this hotel and we did enjoy ourselves, I can't help but have some regrets because our stay there could have been so much more enjoyable with only a few changes.

14/02/2026: Got food poisoning from the goulash with knodels and started projectile vomiting a couple of hours later. If you want to vomit all over yourself and feel terrible, highly reccomend.

01/03/2026: Nothing to complain about the food, but there's no point in booking, as they won't hold a table and will give it to the first person who arrives. We had booked a table at 1:00 PM, but arrived at 1:15 PM due to a problem with the child on the steps, and surprise, the table hadn't been held. A terrible experience from this point of view.

13/01/2026: I had an incredibly bad apple strudel here today. It definitely wasn't homemade, just defrosted. And it came with a cold espresso. The service was okay, but it wasn't worth the visit. Sorry.

30/01/2026: We were in Merano to visit the Flower Festival and had lunch at this typical Tyrolean restaurant. We enjoyed typical South Tyrolean dishes, and the beers were fantastic. There are two floors for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a well-stocked bar. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is very popular and popular. It is located right in the historic center of the city under the famous historic arcades. The staff was very courteous and helpful in accommodating all our special requests.
