06/07/2026: The food was great and the service was very quick. Overall, though, it felt a bit like a "mass production" operation. If you just want a good pizza and don't want to linger for hours, this is the place for you. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit outside.

07/04/2026: We (two people) arrived without a reservation and were easily seated. We started with fish soup, which came with an extra plate so we could share. The soup was generously sized and would have easily been enough for one person as a main course. Our main course was gnocchi with asparagus and linguine alla scoglio. I've rarely had better food at the seaside. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was cozy. We'd gladly return.

07/04/2026: A very large and beautiful restaurant. We arrived just after opening and there were plenty of seats, but within half an hour almost everything was taken. The atmosphere was very pleasant, as was the service. The pizza and lasagna were delicious, and the tiramisu was beyond praise.

16/07/2026: Excellent hospitality and food We hiked the trail with our 4-year-old daughter and stopped here for lunch. The eggs with potatoes and speck were special, and the goulash was also very tasty. The lady at the mountain hut was very kind and super hospitable. There's a play area outside for the kids.

01/04/2026: An incredibly charming mountain hut. After a rather strenuous but beautiful hike, you're greeted at the top with all sorts of delicious treats. The owner cooks in the main dining room and is super friendly. The prices are perfectly reasonable, and the Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) was delicious.

07/06/2026: First and foremost, it's the view! That's what you pay for here; the panorama is incredible. The food is very good one day, but very mediocre the next (a salad without dressing and one sausage for €15). Good drinks and beer, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It's worth a visit, even just for the views.

06/07/2026: We managed to snag a room at Hotel Unterschattmair at short notice while passing through, and what can I say? We felt comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. The hosts are incredibly warm and run their hotel with great attention to detail. The rooms and pool area are newly and beautifully renovated. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious, so we felt right at home as a family. The food was delicious, especially the many homemade products. The multi-course dinner, which we enjoyed with a fantastic view of Merano from the terrace, was truly wonderful. The fact that our children were treated so warmly and not just accepted, as we've experienced in other hotels, is something we'll remember most fondly. Thank you for the wonderful stay; we'd love to come back!

29/05/2026: Great restaurant with delicious homemade food! There were lots of locals and local workers eating there when we visited, which is always a good sign. The only downside was that the ravioli portion could have been a bit more generous, as it felt quite small. However, the lasagna was excellent.

14/01/2026: I've been a guest at this refuge for over 25 years. It's spectacular! Both the location and the food. One of the most beautiful places in the world at the foot of my favorite mountain in the Dolomites... Ciao Tre Scarperi! Come visit Maria, she's very kind! But be patient, because it's not always easy to find a table!

10/01/2026: This quaint refuge nestled in the beautiful Fiscalina Valley can be reached after an hour's mostly flat hike from Bad Moos. The food was DELICIOUS, and I can't wait to return! We had the salsify soup and dumplings, truly unforgettable! The service was also fast and friendly. It's worth considering that this is a fairly popular refuge, and since they don't take reservations, you might end up on a waiting list, but fortunately, it fills up fairly quickly. Highly recommended!

24/06/2026: Simply a wonderfully beautiful restaurant with top service and top cuisine.

15/06/2026: We were a large family (7 people) at Felsenkeller and enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable evening, even though we weren't the easiest group of customers. The large table on the terrace offered a fantastic view over Merano, and we received friendly service. The children's requests were also accommodated. I have a histamine intolerance, which is a real nightmare for any chef. I had to ask numerous questions about the ingredients and the aging process of the beef, and the chef personally came to our table to answer them and adapted a dish to suit my needs. This is not something to be taken for granted and was very thoughtful. All the dishes were delicious and sophisticated, and the portions were very generous. Thanks to the kitchen's flexibility, I was able to have just as wonderful a culinary experience as everyone else, and everyone was very satisfied. We would gladly return the next time we are in Merano and would wholeheartedly recommend Felsenkeller.

24/05/2026: Parked in Vernago (large paid parking lot near the lake). Trail No. 13, which takes two hours to the mountain hut, starts on the other shore (take the road that connects the parking lot to the opposite shore along the lake wall). The first part of the trail is quite steep, but the rest is flat. The route is scenic. The mountain hut is a beautiful traditional wooden building. Plenty of outdoor tables, but the dining room is small. There's a play area for children. The location offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The service was prompt. The cuisine is typically Trentino. We ate really well: everything was delicious and the portions were generous. Beef goulash with rice, speck, cheese, and onion omelette. Apple strudel with vanilla cream, and a trio of semifreddos (hazelnut, strawberry, and orange). All dishes were freshly prepared with local, fresh ingredients. Highly recommended!!!
