We spent 3 days in Selva and actually ate there every day 😊
Whether it was pizza, dumplings, or pasta, everything was really good
Relaxed atmosphere and always busy
Nevertheless, we managed to get a table every evening
We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Selva ☺️

03/10/2025: A lovely alpine hut to stop for a break after a hike. A large selection of food and drinks, but nothing exceptional. The price/performance ratio is decent. It's a shame when local guests (or the owner?) park their pickup trucks right in front of the terrace, blocking the view, even though there's plenty of parking space about 30 meters away.
20/09/2025: An excellent setting for combining the Latemar mountain range with South Tyrolean cuisine.
Not to be missed.

15/09/2025: We were there yesterday. There's construction going on. Unfortunately, you won't know what's closed until you go.
But I think it'll be great there in the future. More chalets are being built.
04/07/2025: Unfortunately, the Zuegghütte is no longer there!!! 😭 It had to make way for a new restaurant (then called the Zuegghütte again) and three chalets! 😡 For years, it was our obligatory stop on our way down to the valley. The food, staff, and atmosphere were absolutely top-notch! What a shame!!!

24/10/2025: Since we discovered the restaurant on the Algund Waalweg path a few years ago, we've been visiting it every time we vacation in the Merano area. This time we "had to" eat in the dining room because it's already too cold on the terrace in October evenings. It's also very cozy inside, but understandably even cozier outside. The food is very good, and the desserts are always a highlight for us. Very friendly staff. We're looking forward to next year!

30/09/2025: Absolutely amazing. Like, I was not prepared for what a gem this place was. Loved all the sauna options and the hours for them were great. The room was immaculately clean. Breakfast was delicious and had everything one could want. And there was so much staff around all the time, cleaning, prepping, greeting. I have never experienced that. I wish I had more time to stay here, but will hopefully be back for nordic ski season!

18/09/2025: We spent 12 days in Tramin on the Wine Route, spending our first evening at the Weis-Keller because we liked the pictures on Google Maps. After the first visit, we made three more visits with excellent food, a great atmosphere, and super friendly staff.
Is it worth recommending? We'd say a visit is a must if you're in the area.
However, reservations are mandatory, as space is limited.
Thanks for the great food and the lovely evenings...

02/10/2025: Unbelievable, totally worth the drive. Clearly the chef has been trained in places around the world. Food, presentation, tastes, flavors, all fantastic. Prices were VERY reasonable given what you are served. Near Michelin quality for “restaurant in your neighborhood” prices. Blown away!
18/08/2025: We've visited Restaurant Pirbamer several times and can only recommend it.
Very creative and high-quality cuisine, reasonable portions, and a wide wine selection.
The restaurant has been recently renovated and has a very pleasant ambiance.

Your trip to Scena/Merano is not complete without a visit to the Zmailerhof.

17/07/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance at lunchtime on our bike tour – a real stroke of luck! We sat in the pleasantly shady outdoor area, which was very clean and well-maintained.
We were thrilled with the pizzas: wafer-thin, wonderfully crispy – just as real Italian pizza should be. The service was attentive and friendly, and the chef also made a very positive impression.
All in all, a highly recommended place for a relaxing break with delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere.

17/10/2025: Enchanting refuge and hotel nestled in the tranquility of the Dolomite peaks.
Far from noise and traffic.
A central hub for excursions to other refuges. Ample parking reserved for guests. Wonderful menu featuring local specialties and a wide selection of wines and beers. Comfortable and cozy rooms with panoramic views.
Outdoor veranda seating, plenty of entertainment for small children.
12/10/2025: We arrived at this refuge expecting to eat! It was actually 2:30 PM. We're used to refuge service lasting until at least 4 PM. We paid for parking, which was completely for nothing, considering that the kitchen not only closed at 2 PM but was also being used for a wedding reception that was taking place shortly thereafter. It was truly disappointing, having heard good things about it, but we definitely don't recommend it, and not only will we not be returning.
