04/12/2025: When we travel the Brenner Pass, we pass through it whenever possible. Just minutes from the Bressanone exit. Rustic beauty, both inside and out. Everything we've tried ranges from very good to excellent. A must-try, when available, is the chestnut soup: it's a magical potion that transports you back in time (in fact, it's much richer and tastier today than it was 190 years ago). My only regret: I've never found mushrooms.

02/12/2025: An absolutely positive experience. We started with a platter: the menu says it's for one person, but it was really generous, so two of us ate easily. Then I finally got to try the famous dumplings with sauerkraut (I highly recommend the spinach ones). I finished with soup, but given the amount of food on the platter, I could have done without it. Very friendly staff. Recommendation

20/04/2026: Review is for the restaurant only. I am guessing the owners changed or the food and menu is significantly different in the off season. The 'local' cheese platter was very disappointing with mass produced cheese I would expect at a breakfast buffet, and the menu is very limited.

02/06/2026: Fantastic view, very convenient having games for children, but unfortunately, the food and service were lacking. We waited over an hour to receive our order (with 4 hungry children at the table...) without even being brought bread or anything else in the meantime, and despite having made a reservation... One dish arrived at a time, 20 minutes apart... Generous portions, but the instant polenta (which we waited an hour and a half for...) was completely raw, grilled vegetables, and the sausage was also raw (different from the one we'd seen on the table of the customers before us...). They're not organized for the number of people they accept! My advice is to grab a sandwich from home and stop by for a coffee in the afternoon when it empties out.

21/07/2026: If you appreciate down-to-earth cuisine and friendly people, this is the place for you. A traditional alpine hut as it should (ideally) be: unpretentious, warm, and authentic. The owner is even happy to give hiking tips if needed.

01/04/2026: Simply wonderful! We stayed there with our family for a week of skiing (half-board). The mountain lodge is located close to the ski slopes and lifts (a fantastic ski area, suitable for both beginners and experts). The rooms are simple and rustic, but they have everything you need and are very clean. The owners and all the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming – we all felt incredibly comfortable. A particular highlight is the cuisine. There was a different menu every evening, which alone is worth the trip or a visit (portion sizes to suit your taste, varied, beautifully presented, and excellent service).

08/03/2026: The lakeside hotel is a fantastic place to stay on Lake Reschen! The host family and staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive! The spa area is wonderful, with stunning views of the lake and mountains! The interior is beautiful – especially the restaurant, bar, and spa area! Breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful! We'll definitely be back! 🙂

02/07/2026: A beautiful, rustic mountain hut with very friendly service and excellent food. Large terrace, somewhat smaller inside. An ideal place to stop if you're coming from the Schwarzhorn. The burgers are highly recommended!

04/06/2026: We ate here several times last year, and again this year for a snack and dinner. The terrace has a lovely view. The service was incredibly friendly, thank you so much! The dumplings in the soup and as a trio were amazing! And we had a fantastic breaded turkey schnitzel. There was a great selection of delicious desserts. To finish, we had a liqueur and a schnapps – simply a wonderful evening :-) Thank you to the whole team! We'll definitely be back next year (or maybe even this summer) 🌞

31/05/2026: We stayed at the Gasthaus Falkenstein for one night while passing through and were completely satisfied. The food, rooms, and staff were all incredibly welcoming – highly recommended. We had everything we needed.
