15/04/2025: Restaurant simple avec des produits authentiques. Un propriétaire tres attentionné. Nous avons mangé des charcuteries et des fromages extras. Une côte de porc succulente accompagnée de petits légumes et pour finir une sorte de crêpe fourrée a la pistache (de la production du propriétaire) top.

13/06/2025: Very kind staff, excellent food, everything perfect! We took advantage of a dinner with a smartbox that they had given us, and it was an excellent choice! We also ordered some extra courses because we were tempted by the menu and we were really happy we did! Very fresh fish, really excellent. If we were to pass through Catania again we will definitely go back!

06/07/2025: If it was just the food I would have given five stars, but there are some aspects that disappointed me... the pastry shop does not have tables where you can eat in peace, so with the photonic heat that it is you have to take your things and eat them standing outside. Very good cannolo, cassatina for my taste too sweet.

04/07/2025: Very friendly staff and great dishes quite close to the Greek cuisine!! We tried suvlaki,pasta with pesto and a Greek salad and we enjoyed it more than anything else in Palermo. The restaurant is also very very clean!

02/07/2025: Di anno in anno l'Emporio del gusto rimane una tappa fissa: il sorriso della signora Fabrizia ci accoglie sempre con calda simpatia ed è sempre un piacere fermarsi per un aperitivo o uno snack (oltre allo shopping enogastronomico) facendo due simpatiche chiacchiere con lei! Staff sempre gentile e accogliente, vino e stuzzichini sempre al top. Negozio sempre ben rifornito. Ringraziamo il collaboratore che ci ha fatto scoprire "le bollicine di Nika"! Buonissimo il pane cunzato ... impossibile non tornare!

14/06/2025: We had the best experience here during our time in Palermo. It’s a spot that is frequented by all of the locals, and everyone is like family. The food was the best of everything we had throughout our entire trip- HUGE portions at amazing prices and not a single bad dish to be had. Definitely stop by here if you have the chance!

27/07/2025: Despite being advised a half day in advance that one of us was vegetarian, the veg options offered were extremely sub standard. In fact the restaurant denied they had received this advice, when it was all recorded in writing, and confirmed by them as received and ok’d earlier in the day. They offered a grilled zucchini with cherry tomatoes and cheese. The fish/pasta dish was both tasteless (pasta) and generic fish like from a can. It probably wasn’t, but that was how it tasted. The service was attentive and gracious, except for the denial of being advised about our vegetarian, which was demonstrably not true. Our bill was discounted thankfully.

05/07/2025: Location that could be truly enchanting. The garden has truly unexpressed potential, as does the structure. It's a shame to see that there is no overall vision. Waiters wandering around confused with dishes in hand... they would compulsively approach and then leave... music (radio station with lots of advertising) in the ears... food of truly dubious quality. Dishes arranged with little understandable combinations (mint in the pasta and in the caponata... oh well...). The caponata cold from the fridge with two mint leaves on top... all in a stew of oil, as well as the pasta (fish, cherry tomatoes and here too... mint!!!). The wine? A grillo... in Sicily you can never go wrong with the grillo... it's a shame it was completely Marsala... obviously here they don't even know what tasting is. So for a caponata flavored with mint, a mint pasta, two glasses of Marsala wine and a water (this one is good)... all this for just under 40 euros... I'll leave the evaluations to you...

03/06/2025: A wonderful experience at MEC, from the moment we arrived, till when we left. A warm and friendly welcome, we were shown to our table and offered an explanation of the menu. A discrete entrance to the building, opposite the beautiful historic buildings of Palermo. The restaurant is in an Apple museum, which is a little strange as it's got nothing to do with the food, city or culture. I'm not sure the relevance and don't think it adds anything to the experience. The service was attentive, professional and friendly at all times which was excellent. We opted for the tasting menu, and they allowed us to have 1 vegetarian and 1 meat menu which is usually against the norm. The appetisers and bread was interesting, and each course was explained and unique in it's own way. The wine menu was extensive, and reasonably priced, so we went with a recommendation rather than opting for the wine pairing. Everything was excellent. Amazing flavour, well seasoned and different. The vegetarian Wellington was the best we've ever tasted, pasta was amazing and everything accompanying. Overall, whilst it was expensive, and not exactly traditional local food, the produce was of very high quality, unique and highly recommended.
