22/03/2026: Beautiful and delicious Sunday lunch, quiet and welcoming location, there is a practically shining open counter, suitable for families, service 🔝 polite staff, delicious fish, first courses taken care of down to the smallest details, delicious salmon pasta, exceptional Lido pasta, freshly fried aubergines, everything very fresh, highly recommended.

23/03/2026: Everything looks terrible. The food is reheated and not fresh at all. The prices are high and the bathroom is extremely dirty. The waiters who come to serve you smell of sweat, and you'll find hairs on your food. Always rude if you ask a waiter about the dishes, and the maître d' is absolutely rude. Absolutely disgusting. There were 12 of us, and the next day some of them felt terrible after eating at this restaurant. 🤮🤮🤮 It's a shame you can't give 0 stars!!!!

We went to this restaurant for lunch a few days ago and enjoyed an excellent Sicilian meal: from appetizers to first and second courses, everything was truly delicious. The cannoli deserve a special mention, among the best I've ever eaten.
We then returned for dinner and tried the pizza, which was also excellent, well-made and tasty.
The service was impeccable on both occasions, and the owners were extremely kind and welcoming.
We come from Catania specifically to eat here and will definitely be back!

17/02/2026: Last night we were here as soon as we arrived we sat down and ordered a portion of potatoes and croquettes the taste was good and also the cooking then three very simple pizzas but there are some flaws including the mozzarella was not melted well then the price is right for the quality of the food we ate I think we will return even with friends

The 1980s are remembered for its legendary caldofreddi (cold-cold ice creams), which we used to serve on warm evenings in the piazza. The ice creams are a delight, as are the ice cream cakes. A must-see for anyone looking to delight their taste buds!

13/12/2025: It was my first time here, and I must say I'll gladly return... you pay little and get a lot... I ate very well, from the rustic appetizers to the first and second courses, right down to dessert and coffee. Everything was delicious, and the place was rustic yet welcoming.
24/11/2025: Alfio, the wonderful guide at the Castagno dei Cento Cavalli, recommended this restaurant for our lunch. We were delighted by the antipasto that kept arriving with so many dishes. Then our pasta which was tasty. A great view towards the sea from the windows. We enjoyed our lunch very much.

Terrible food and insane prices for a 1:20 wait from ordering.
They even tried to charge us for drinks that never arrived.
I strongly advise against it!!!
13/11/2025: This place is really good. As travellers, we reached Palermo from a delayed flight and needed something quick and local. The sharing board was of a very high quality, and they served really good local wine.
It was positioned next to our hotel, with a great atmosphere of locals enjoying life and a nice glass of wine.
It is managed by a lovely lady and gentleman, and we were happy to make a return visit the next day for some more wine.

31/01/2026: Excellent location and very good service. The pistachio cannoli was delicious, and the pistachio pastry was excellent. The ice cream was very good. It's not the best pastry shop in Palermo, but everything is fresh and tasty, and I would return. You can eat standing up inside or at the tables outside, which are covered and protected from the rain. We were there in January 2026.

15/03/2026: I went to lunch at La Polena restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
The food wasn't particularly well-crafted, and the menu selection was rather limited. Considering the price, I definitely expected better quality and attention to detail in the dishes.
It's a real shame, because the staff was very kind and helpful throughout the service, which was certainly the highlight of the experience.
I hope the restaurant can improve its offerings and the attention to detail in its dishes, because so far, the value for money hasn't lived up to expectations.
24/02/2026: We had lunch at La Polena based on a recommendation we received upon arrival, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. From the moment you arrive, you sense the attention and care they give, with small, much-appreciated gifts that kick off the experience in the best possible way.
Fresh seafood dishes, beautifully balanced and cooked with authentic, well-presented flavors. Impeccable, courteous service, always available to explain every offering.
Stunning views of the Aci Trezza sea, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent value. A place definitely worth a visit!

Uninterested staff and zero customer service.
Service is provided in installments and always on request.
It's a shame to spend money on a messed-up dinner.
The lady at the cashier was kind and didn't charge for the appetizer.
Unfortunately, it's no longer one of my go-to places for a relaxing lunch or dinner.
