09/12/2025: BE CAREFUL ⚠️ We booked this hotel (if you can call it that) for the Immaculate Conception long weekend, from December 5th to 7th, 2025! We spoke to the hotel owner (or so it seems) by phone and WhatsApp to book. He provided us with all the details for the stay and asked for a deposit of half the amount, or €190. We arrived at the hotel on December 5th. HOTEL CLOSED! The owner of the bar next door told us the hotel had gone bankrupt! We called the police, who already knew about everything, as it had already been reported by other guests. All this with a 1-year-old baby on board! They're scammers. Thieves. Be careful. Don't book. They'll scam you.

08/01/2026: I've only been there once a few years ago, but since I hadn't left a review at the time, I wanted to do so now. The overall experience was very positive and left me with fond memories. The restaurant is located on the Giovinazzo seafront, with a truly spectacular view of the sea, creating the perfect atmosphere for a sunset dinner or a relaxed lunch. The setting is welcoming, clean, and tidy, and of medium size: spacious enough for small groups or families to dine comfortably without feeling crowded. The staff has always been friendly, kind, and helpful, ready to recommend the daily specials or accommodate guests' requests. Even at the busiest times, their attentiveness and courtesy remain evident, making the experience pleasant. The food is truly excellent: specialties include quality pizza, fresh fish dishes, seafood, and carefully selected appetizers, all prepared with genuine ingredients and beautifully presented. The portions are generous and satisfying, without being heavy, and the flavors are authentic and well-balanced. Prices are average and absolutely reasonable for the quality of the dishes and the waterfront location. Service times are generally reasonable: during my visit, we didn't have a long wait, but it's understandable that waits can be slightly longer at peak times. In summary, Gatto Verde is a place I highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality dinner or lunch in Giovinazzo, with tasty dishes, attentive staff, and a pleasant atmosphere with a splendid sea view. I will definitely return at the first opportunity.

20/12/2025: My family, friends, and I frequent it often, both for lunch (for special occasions) and for evenings... it's a modern, air-conditioned glass-fronted establishment overlooking the sea, with a veranda, a surrounding lawn, and an adjacent white beach in a beautiful blue gulf. It also features two screens for important TV events, plus a nautical-style outdoor space (in summer). I primarily go there for the delicious, highly digestible pizza (Barese style), with a wide selection and made-to-order options; but the dishes offered are also impressive, with a gourmet feel. Prices are reasonable and fair. They also do a lot of takeout, thanks to the natural "lounge" provided by the seafront and cliffs. Friendly, accommodating service. Decades of experience... a historic pizzeria, for a reason!

16/02/2026: Dry pizza with meager ingredients, slow service, 1 waiter in the entire room like 1 pizza chef on a Saturday night... Let's move on to the rudeness of the owner who, instead of rounding down the per person amount, rounded up the bill (table of 18 people) and when we pointed this out to him, he started cursing us, treating us like beggars, saying that we just had to thank him for making us eat absurd food... We are not from Altamura and fortunately we have been to other renowned pizzerias in the area and they have always treated us with kid gloves, it's the first time something like this has happened to us, the owner should change jobs in my opinion, he only continues for the convenience of the place but for the rest the management is appalling.

15/02/2026: AN EXPERIENCE NOT TO BE REPEATED!!! We went to this pizzeria a year ago, everything was good and plentiful. Unfortunately, tonight wasn't the same. The pizzas were flavorful, empty, and the prices were quite high. The service was disappointing; no waiter ever came by, so you had to wait at least 15 minutes to ask for something! They delivered Margherita pizzas instead of pizzas with sausage and fries. Then they told us there were no sausages, so only fries were served. Fine, but the Margherita pizzas arrived, then they took them back and added cold fries on top! THE HEATING WAS COLD, ESPECIALLY IN THE BATHROOMS. Not to mention the bill, which he rounded up on his own! So for 17 people, he pocketed more than €6. Without asking if we wanted to tip him!!! But we would have also given it is the arrogance, the rudeness, the cunning, THE PRESUMPTION and the way of doing things THAT IS NOT OK, EVEN INSULTS!! In my house the customer must want to give a tip, not that the bill is rounded up to get it out! And I'll stop there! We made a very bad impression by bringing many friends who were all disappointed! Last time in this place!!!!

23/10/2025: I had the octopus sandwich. Fantastic. Truly exceptional, simple but very tasty.

13/09/2025: Perfect view. The salad was disappointing. Pizza it's not served for the lunch. The pasta is a bit expensive.

15/01/2026: Leaving aside the shabby and disorganized decor, I'd like to compliment the owner on his exceptional courtesy and customer-oriented attitude. We'd come in for coffee and, waiting for the customers before us to finish, we decided to order something else. When it was our turn, the owner dismissed us with a curt, "We don't do coffee." It was surreal, considering the customers before us had just finished theirs, and behind the counter was a menu displaying different types of coffee. I pretended not to understand and politely asked for coffee. He, with a little smile and without even having the courtesy to look me in the eye, dismissed me with a curt no and walked away. Reading the other comments, I see that he's used to behaving in such a "polite and courteous" manner. It's a shame you can't give negative stars; he deserves all of them. 04/01/2026: Extremely rude, and the service left much to be desired. We sat at the tables outside, and while two of us were waiting at the table to order, two others decided to go to the bathroom. We asked one of the girls where it was, and she replied "on the left" without a smile. She also asked if we were ready to order, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to go to the bathroom. Once we were finished, when it was time to pay, the lady at the counter handed us the receipt without asking how we wanted to pay. When we asked for the receipt, we said we wanted to pay by card, and she replied that she had already issued the receipt in cash, so we would have to pay with that. It was very rude to force a customer to pay in cash without asking first. Without further ado, it would have been enough to simply say that the POS was off.

01/03/2026: The pizza is good, although the place, with its veranda-like layout, honestly leaves a bit to be desired. For those who aren't too demanding on social gatherings, it's fine. The appetizers are decent.

22/12/2025: Worst McDonald's I've ever been to... and I've seen them in 50 years around the world. Rude. 30 minutes to get a tray. And the place was half empty at 4:00 PM. Don't go!

18/12/2025: I only go to McDonald's when there are coupons, just to save my wallet. Lately, however, the burger and fries seemed to have come straight from the refrigerator, not the kitchen. The wait? Take your time, even if the place was half empty. The staff does their job, but the tables often tell stories of those who ate before you. Luckily, parking is convenient, and the Drive-Thru always saves the day.

12/03/2026: Unpleasant experience! I asked for a chocolate and cream basket, but it seemed like they were offering a discount on the chocolate. It was such a meager amount, so I politely asked the lady if she could add a little more. Her ironic response was, "This is the basket!" Even though I added a small amount, the basket was practically empty. A basket that cost 3 euros! It seems sleazy to want to save on a bit of chocolate. I won't be going back.

07/03/2026: For dinner with a couple of friends and two dogs, we were warmly welcomed and given advance notice, and a table was reserved for us. The hostess's smile and hospitality set the stage for a pleasant and relaxing dinner. From the varied menu and the waiter's suggestions, we chose our tasting menu, which was much appreciated for both its tradition and innovation! But, the desire to try the other options compels us to... return as soon as possible!!!! Thanks again and congratulations to those who manage your social media profile, as that's where our interest in your offerings and our desire to be your guests began. See you soon!!!!
