07/08/2025: July 14, 2025 - Monday (4 of us) The 'Bivacco Matematico', recommended to us by the managers of the Usseglio Museum, was a delightful surprise. The young owner offered a fantastic and warm welcome, attentively and enthusiastically serving us: the trios, each of us choosing our own, were delicious. The bread, wine, and homemade 'brutti ma buoni' desserts, which we were able to purchase from their deli, were excellent. They were available to make our day an unforgettable memory, and the price was very fair. Unmissable. We'd love to return! Before heading to Malciaussia, we highly recommend stopping at the 'Bivacco Matematico'! A restaurant run with passion and originality. THANK YOU!

The food is very good and inexpensive, and the ingredients are homemade and of high quality. I highly recommend this place; the exterior is truly lovely. I can't wait to go back!

07/08/2025: We returned after a while and were really pleased to find some nice new features. It's clear there's a desire to grow the place without compromising its character: you can still feel the authenticity of Savoy that won us over the first time. We really enjoyed the seasonal dishes, especially the fish: the mixed fried fish was incredibly fresh, plentiful, and perfectly crispy. The anchovies in green sauce were worthy of applause, as was the veal with tuna, made the old-fashioned way, with a soft and flavorful sauce—nothing like the dry, "simply" versions found elsewhere. The changes are noticeable, revealing a lot of effort behind them (we also learned that the entire professional kitchen has been renovated). In short, a place where you eat well, with passion, and where you'll always want to return.

06/08/2025: The overall impression, unfortunately, is of a place in a declining phase, so to speak. It's a shame, because the staff would be there for everyone, including the decidedly strategic location in the Crocetta neighborhood, with a lively atmosphere all around. Instead, the trattoria isn't particularly impressive, it's not attractive. The outdoor seating is rather meager; the five breadsticks in their industrial plastic containers are unsightly; the glass of Prosecco is almost undrinkable. At the table, despite its ups and downs, the Russian salad holds up admirably, fresh and well-crafted; the anchovies served with grilled bread and a good green sauce are equally good; the raspberry risotto is poor, and there's no appeal in placing two of them prominently in the middle of the plate. Perhaps it wasn't the right evening. However, in my opinion, it could use a good refresh, a boost of enthusiasm. I say this with affection and gratitude because this trattoria is a place of the heart, of tradition, and of the good old days that I hope will return soon. The bill, as is now customary almost everywhere, is quite steep.

12/04/2025: With the change of management it lost its value. We found a receipt that was higher than it should have been with products that we had not consumed. The service however is excellent!

01/09/2025: As Poles, we weren't impressed by the lady's knowledge of wine or dishes, but she still tried to tailor everything to our tastes. I had the pleasure of dining at this bar and enjoying a dish that many restaurants would envy: pork in black pepper sauce with grilled peppers. My girlfriend, on the other hand, had a delicious four-cheese pasta (unlike any we'd ever had before). The dishes were characterized by their high freshness and unique flavor. As I said, I wasn't surprised by the lady's knowledge of wine; we simply asked for a sweet, ahahahha. Despite this, the lady suggested exactly what we wanted, saying that this wine is usually served with desserts. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the dishes (they disappeared too quickly 😂❤️), but I can honestly say that this is where you can experience true Italy. P.S. As an appetizer, we were given plenty of fresh bread, olive oil, and pepper. The girl got practically unlimited parmesan cheese for the pasta, which she could use throughout the meal without any restrictions (you can add as much as you want). I think that when you are in the area, it is really worth trying the local cuisine in places like this, because they show us what Italy tastes like (2 dishes, 2 glasses of wine = about €28)

21/07/2025: A very comfortable and renovated atmosphere, definitely well-kept and clean. We (five of us) were seated at 8:45 PM and the first appetizers were served at 9:50 PM, definitely an hour too long to wait for a Friday evening when the place wasn't at all busy. The entire table ate fish-based appetizers, first courses, and second courses, unfortunately nothing particularly captivating. The raw fish was a bit lacking in variety. If I find salmon tartare in one corner of the plate and sliced raw salmon in the opposite corner, it's still salmon, it just serves to fill the plate. Two seared tuna, both extremely poorly cooked, almost tough on the outside and really too dark on the inside, were difficult to eat. The octopus was also there, probably treated poorly from catch to cooking, really rubbery and almost tasteless, while the tagliolini with shrimp was definitely not worth the wait, tasteless. The mussels deserve special mention. Between the appetizers and main courses, we asked for a second bottle of wine, which the waiter noted on his PDA, but alas, it never arrived. The wine list is excellent, but unfortunately, it's under-appreciated due to some inexperience on the part of some of the waiters—a shame, unfortunately. I'd say that bad nights can happen, but there wasn't much noise that evening, so there's no real mitigating factor between the service and the food. We might return to try the meats; it will probably be better.

22/07/2025: The pizza is delicious, not too thin, not too thick, with unbeatable prices (super fair), and friendly, smiling, and fast staff. The idea of combining a library atmosphere with a pizzeria is original. We'll definitely be back!

31/08/2025: The chickpea farinata and Recco-style focaccia are excellent, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Recommended for an aperitif or a quick snack. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.

25/08/2025: A charming place. Entirely made of wood. The road up is narrow, but there are several widenings for parking. Parking is available next to the refuge. The terrace/balcony with a panoramic view is truly unique. The facilities are very clean. The interior is truly beautiful, with clean rooms and a bright atmosphere. The food is excellent value for money, and it's not just the usual polenta. 😃 (see photo) The staff is young and helpful. Recommended.

22/08/2025: Yesterday with friends; rainy weather, lunch for 6 people booked via the WhatsApp app in the morning: immediately confirmed. They seated us inside in a very cozy room, all in wood. All the dishes were delicious and the welcome and service were exceptional; the girl who served us was really nice!
