03/09/2025: We found this place to be quite typical of this pretty little village. Fair prices, good food, and a warm welcome.

02/09/2025: I've been to this place several times, as I visit Casteldelfino at least once a year. Unfortunately, I only had a good experience the first time. The last two times, we found the service very slow, the food cold, and they brought us the wrong dish and the wrong wine. The last time, however, in mid-August, my partner and I had just enough time to eat a plate of polenta, and then, when it was time to order coffee, they made us get up from the table (not even five minutes after finishing our dish) and served it at the counter because there were too many people waiting. Furthermore, the people at our table next to us forgot to bring their dish, and the waitress admitted she'd forgotten it in the kitchen, so it must have arrived cold. I understand the summer season and the staff's needs (some of them quite rude), but I would recommend finding a way to manage reservations in shifts without putting customers in a rush. If similar inconveniences arise, at least offer a discount. Lunch should be a relaxing experience, which, between one thing and another, it wasn't. The location is very beautiful, but the only shame is the service and the lack of organization.

17/08/2025: Very kind and helpful owner who adapts to the language barrier. Bilingual English and Italian. Tastefully renovated hotel. Very comfortable bedding, very clean room. Breakfast is everything you need. Very good value for money. It's a shame the trattoria was closed due to annual leave. We'll come back if the opportunity arises.

29/07/2025: We stayed at the hotel for only 3 days. The hotel was quiet and clean. The room was cozy and clean. Towels were changed daily. In the trattoria, the tables under an ivy-covered pergola make it even easier to enjoy the fabulous dishes coming out of the kitchen. Mr. Paolo is extremely helpful and friendly.

12/07/2025: Beautiful gym, friendly staff at the entrance and inside. The locker room area is beautiful and, above all, spotlessly clean.

15/02/2025: Overall, a disappointing experience compared to expectations. The atmosphere is simple and rather pleasant. Several small rooms with 2-4 tables each, spread over two floors in a rather beautiful period noble building. The dishes are not very well prepared and presented; I'd say they're not very successful: without any major flaws, but lacking in character. A fixed fish menu for all tables. The wine list is too short. The service was naive, with some of the staff friendly but clearly and explicitly inexperienced, and others more professional. However, there were gross ingenuity and long waits in a nearly deserted restaurant. Finally, the price: it was Valentine's Day, granted, but for what we got, the price was truly exorbitant.

03/05/2025: It is not a simple location, but an enchanting paradise with a suggestive view of Lake Orta. It was the location of our wedding reception, which, due to its beauty, was able to amaze us and the guests. Marzia, the owner, is very kind and helpful. We highly recommend

10/08/2025: French family passing through Alexandria We stumbled upon this pizzeria by chance... More than adequate service, no fuss or frills, but very attentive and available to answer any questions. The pizzas are delicious, the carbonara pasta is exquisite, and the prices are a very pleasant surprise (€50 for 4 people, drinks and coffee included!!!!) A place to recommend to anyone passing through Alexandria

27/07/2025: The very last oasis of honesty in a city of self-proclaimed restaurateurs, over-the-top gourmet pizza chefs, and an increasingly demanding clientele that loves to be ripped off. Caminetto is the best; for the amazing lochescion, the salami-loving service, and the pineapple pizzas, go elsewhere. Thanks.

29/07/2025: An unforgettable experience! Motel located between abandoned factories and a bus depot. The rooms were clean but dated, which is a compliment. The air conditioning didn't work, and the windows couldn't be opened due to the huge number of mosquitoes. We asked to bring our bike (sparkling clean) to the room, but they said no, instead having it put in a garage they called "sucuro"... The next morning we went downstairs and found the famous "sucuro" garage located at the back of this motel, completely open and unsupervised! Breakfast was at an adjacent bar, not very clean, but very casual.

17/07/2025: The hotel is well located for travelers. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and adequate for our needs. We would book the hotel again if we were in the area.

13/06/2025: The restaurant is incredibly delicious. It may be a bit pricey, but quality comes at a price. Everything is still within reason and perfectly fine. If you value good, high-quality food, then this is the place for you. The service was also good, and we felt comfortable. We'll be back when we go on holiday there again. Keep up the good work.

31/03/2025: Chiuso ed aperto in altra sede diversa da Mergozzo... con nostra (e non solo nostra, nucleo familiare di 7 o 8 persone con bimbi al seguito) amara sorpresa visto il mancato avviso. (Vedi riferimenti riportati su Tripadvisor e su "dove mangiare a...." e la mancanza di un cartello nella sede di Mergozzo)

09/05/2025: The owner charged us more than we consumed. He was not pleasant and we suspect he did it on purpose. Not very honest and not very good. Try the new bar next door instead.

23/08/2025: We ate here on a Saturday for lunch. The first courses were truly delicious, worthy of the "scarpetta" (breadcrumb) and the place was lovely with a lake view. It's a shame the staff was apathetic and unsmiling (except for the lady who takes orders and works at the register, who was kind and smiling).

14/07/2025: Maden var lokal, lækkert, frisk. Smagte super dejligt. Vi var de eneste med børn, men det fungerede meget fint alligevel. Fik lov til at bestille en børne-pasta, selvom der ikke var børne-retter på kortet. Kan anbefales.

08/07/2025: Das Essen war hervorragend. Ich hatte ein Rindertatar als Vorspeise. Mein Mann wählte keine. Aber sie brachten unaufgefordert 2 Teller und stellten die Vorspeise in die Mitte. Das war sehr aufmerksam. Das Rindertatar war hervorragend. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, jemals ein so perfektes Tatar gegessen zu haben. Engagiert abgeschmeckt und mit karamellisiert Zwiebeln, Kapern und gerüsteten Mandeln war es einfach hervorragend! Auch der Hauptgang, ich hatte Pasta mit Muscheln, war nicht nur mit seiner sanften Schärfe köstlich, sondern auch wirklich so abgeschmeckt, dass es kein Nachwürzen bedarf. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, auch wenn der Service bis auf eine Ausnahme sehr steif war. Das Essen sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Es ist wunderbare italienische Küche!
