I had dinner at Monferrato with a very dear friend. What can I say? Elegance, kindness, and quality of food. We sat in the truly beautiful private room. A modernized English living room style. The waitresses were very kind. I recommend the Fassona tartare on the bone with marrow and bagetto verde. An incredible recipe. And their tarte taten for dessert. I will definitely be back.

Management changed two years ago, but the quality of the food remains exceptional. The appetizer features high-quality local cheeses, and the traditional agnolotti are always excellent. The two girls in the dining room still seem unsteady, but their friendliness transcends everything. Prices are high, but WORTH IT (2 bottles of Nebiolo and 1 of Barbaresco, dreamy!). KAIMANO!!

We came to this place for lunch, already knowing what to order, because I wanted to try other traditional Piedmontese dishes... For starters, we ordered the Albese, served with celery and Castelmagno shavings, which was good. For first courses, we had agnolotti with arroz sauce and potato gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese, both good. Finally, for the second course, the finanziera, made with specific parts of certain animals and pickles, which was something very unique and a bit strong in flavor, but I didn't mind it... Very clean and nice place, very kind and professional staff.

Sunday lunch, a welcoming place, attentive and knowledgeable staff, excellent food. We ordered Jerusalem artichoke flan and Russian salad as an appetizer, followed by butter and sage plin and braised beef in Barolo with polenta. To finish, Monferrato cake and another dessert with whipped egg whites and Chantilly cream.
A spectacle! Absolutely worth a try.
Highly recommended!! We'll be back.

Monferatto overall is an overrated restaurant which is a pitty as the environment is pleasant and well attended but the service was unacceptable. When you choose an expensive restaurant you expect the best. They did not understand English. The lady had allergy in perfumes so she snizzed everytime she came close and the worst she did not change the plate she snizzed over neither cleaned her hands. They did not even check if we needed something during our dinner (more wine, water, ..). Two of the three plates ordered was just ok but the third was not eatable I guess due to stale ingredients. The only positive part of our experience was a gentleman that showed up when we asked for the bill who spoke English, asked if all was good and appreciated our honest comments (as he put it).

I visited Ristorante Monferrato in Turin and had a very pleasant experience. This historic and well-maintained restaurant has an elegant atmosphere reminiscent of Piedmontese tradition, with cozy dining rooms and a small outdoor terrace perfect for sunny days.
The cuisine is the real highlight: traditional Piedmontese dishes prepared with quality ingredients, from Fassone beef to homemade pastas, braised meats, and boiled meats. The wine list is impressive, with a wide range of local and national labels to perfectly pair each course.
The service is professional, attentive, and discreet, without ever being intrusive. My only complaint is the prices, which are slightly higher than average, but in line with the quality of the dishes and the overall experience.
In short, Monferrato is ideal for a special dinner, a business lunch, or any occasion where you want to enjoy authentic Piedmontese cuisine in an elegant setting. It's definitely a place I'd happily return to.
