Very kind staff and neat location ... so far so good but with the arrival of the dishes, the story changed .. fish not fresh and first courses completely tasteless .. I was afraid I might feel sick! To make matters worse was the bill .. exorbitant for the quality. Not to be returned.

08/07/2025: I was in the area for work and decided to have lunch here. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised, first of all for the quality of the food served, but also for the quantities (the first courses were really abundant). Tasty, well-prepared recipes, and super fresh fish. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend trying the seafood carbonara, delicious, tasty, the best I've eaten in my life. Prices absolutely in line, even slightly below average in my opinion given the quality/quantity

18/06/2025: Nous avons merveilleusement bien mangé au restaurant La Botte à Stresa. Tout était parfait du début à la fin. L’accueil a été chaleureux et sincère, l’ambiance à la fois élégante et détendue, et chaque plat était une véritable découverte de saveurs. La patronne est attentionnée et d’une gentillesse rare. On sent qu’elle met tout son cœur dans son établissement. Le service est fluide, et on se sent tout de suite comme à la maison. Bref, nous avons passé une superbe soirée, dans une ambiance conviviale et raffinée. Une très belle adresse à ne pas manquer si vous êtes de passage à Stresa. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

02/06/2025: Cozy and elegant restaurant. Delicious dishes that are probably the result of a mix of cultures, from Puglia to Sardinia, to Emilia. The attention to detail is very pleasant, from the table to the furniture. A little expensive, but the experience is worth it.

09/06/2025: I only find the time today, Monday, to leave my review of the lunch I had with my wife on Saturday at this restaurant. I would like to start by saying that we found the quality of the dishes more than satisfactory, and we also really liked the atmosphere. As soon as we arrived, however, we immediately told the waitress that we had to avoid carbohydrates, which is quite easy to do in a fish restaurant. We ordered a trio of tartares as an appetizer. When it arrived, we noticed that the tuna tartare (one of the three) was served on a bed of potatoes. So to make sure, we asked the waitress if they were actually potatoes, even though we had already consumed the other two tartares in the meantime. The waitress very kindly told us that we were right, apologized, and told us that she would have it redone immediately. Shortly after, a new trio of tartares arrived, this time without potatoes with the tuna, but also with the other two tartares that we had already consumed in the first course. I pointed out to her that she could have changed just the tuna, but she told us not to worry. The rest of the lunch continues normally, very good grill. I pay the bill and leave. However, shortly after, I had a doubt, I checked the bill and noticed that I had been charged for both trios of tartare. Now it is not a question of money, and besides, it is not my habit to check the bill before paying it. However, if I had known that to change just one part of the dish (which, moreover, having specified the need, should have been advised against from the beginning due to the presence of potatoes), I would have had to pay for a second one in full, when it was the waitress herself who took our plate away to change it on her own initiative, I would have certainly told her to leave it alone, and maybe I would have ordered another dish. I would have preferred a little more clarity and attention. For the rest, I confirm my good impression.

20/05/2025: I stopped by on the fly and didn't have much time, I ate a first course with very fresh fish and I found a beautiful environment with super staff. It's true that nowadays one cannot invent a restaurateur, and when you eat at Officina del Pesce you realize that class is not water! Even with a simple first course. I also had a dessert, tiramisu, needless to say it was a dream! Compliments to the staff and owners who manage this marvel. Thank you, I will come back to visit you with much more calm.

28/06/2025: We come to Croce del Sud every year when we’re in Lignano – it’s our go-to spot for dinner almost every night. The food is great, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is friendly. A couple of times they forgot to bring a dish, but that doesn’t change our overall experience. We always enjoy coming back!

06/07/2025: I tried the hotel bar, the coffee was excellent, and the desserts were absolutely amazing, especially the lemon delight and the tiramisu. The atmosphere was a 10/10 😍. The service was beyond great, thanks to Francesco Donatantonio . I truly hope the management recognizes and rewards him for his outstanding service 🙏🏻

04/07/2025: We visited the restaurant expecting a high-end dining experience, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We ordered the prawn pasta in a creamy garlic lemon sauce for €36, expecting a proper seafood dish as advertised. What we received was just a portion of plain pasta with just a couple of thin slices of a single prawn on top—barely even a garnish. It felt completely misleading to describe this as “prawn pasta” when there were practically no prawns in the dish.

17/06/2025: I don't know what happened but on Sunday when I returned for the third time I wasn't satisfied the paccheri were very al dente the dish really didn't like the fried seafood overcooked and also out of politeness I didn't say that we had to eat the fried food with our hands the waitress didn't even notice when she took the plates that we didn't have cutlery furthermore the very kind Mrs Elena asked everyone if it was okay except us it seems that we as customers were not as interesting as the others I'm sorry but we won't go back again

10/06/2025: Restaurant in Viareggio that a friend of mine recommended to me. Very rich menu. I ate the mussels stuffed with meat with tomato sauce. The large mussel shells filled with lots of meat but little trace of the mussels. Spaghetti allo scoglio with very fresh clams while the mussels were clearly quite dated, in the whole dish only a nice full-bodied one. Other fish did not arrive. At the bottom of the plate a lot of water from the not exactly perfect draining. The spaghetti cooked well even if a little salty. Very kind staff and fast service....... Offered a digestive at the end of the meal.
