20/12/2025: A truly awful experience. We asked for a simple tomato pasta dish for our daughter and were told they only had spaghetti with clams, without even offering a simple pasta dish. The outdoor seating area was tiny, with a heater that made the air almost unbreathable. When we dared to move our table slightly because our backs were burning, the staff complained arrogantly, as if we had broken a sacred rule. The service was cold, rigid, and rude: absolutely not recommended for anyone with children or looking for even a modicum of courtesy.

The atmosphere is truly the highlight: as soon as you enter, you feel transported to an old Lombard tavern, with walls lined with copperware, vintage bottles, and wooden furniture that make everything feel very intimate and warm. It's the ideal place if you're looking for a casual yet characterful atmosphere. Moving on to the food, we ordered traditional classics. The risotto was perfectly cooked and very flavorful, and the meat was tender, just as you'd expect in a place like this. You can tell the ingredients are carefully selected and there's a strong connection to the local area. However, the wait times were a bit inconsistent: between the appetizer and the main course, we waited a bit too long, even though the place wasn't completely full. The staff is friendly and approachable, making you feel at home, even if they sometimes seem a bit rushed. As for the bill, I'd say it's fair for the quality, although some individual dishes are perhaps slightly above average for the quantity. In short: an excellent choice for those who love traditional cuisine and want to escape from the same old, modern restaurants. I'd definitely return to try the other dishes on the menu, perhaps hoping for a little quicker service.

We tried practically everything, and every dish was exquisite, with full, bold, authentic flavors. You can taste the genuine pursuit of Tyrolean and Bavarian cuisine behind it, not just a randomly revisited version. The atmosphere is warm and super familiar, making you feel immediately at ease. The attention to detail is also evident, like the staff dressed in traditional attire, which makes the experience even more immersive and unique. It's a perfect place to spend a pleasant evening, whether as a couple or with friends. It's also ideal for a different kind of aperitif: a nice beer, a few samples of their dishes, and the evening flies by like a dream. An additional note, not to be taken for granted. Even those who aren't fans of sausages or more "rich" fare will find alternatives like sliced ​​steak, fillet steak, and more classic dishes. That said, it would be a shame not to indulge in their selection of traditional dishes. In such a unique place, it's worth experiencing it to the fullest. Highly recommended. If you're in Varese and want to eat well, drink better, and have a wonderful evening, W11 Cucina Alpina is absolutely worth a visit.
