03/06/2025: Yesterday we celebrated Mamma Mariarosa's 80th birthday in this restaurant, I would say it was a perfect day. The weather did not allow us to have lunch outside but when we arrived they had set up a wonderful internal room, very welcoming, perfect lights and a wonderful buffet. Excellent appetizers, lots of them and fantastic fried food, ravioli with a very good sauce... I would say an excellent chef. Thanks to the friendliness of the owner Mario and the great professionalism and kindness of the waiters

22/05/2025: We stayed at Villa Baroni for three nights in early May for our wedding, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The location by Lake Varese is sublime — with beautiful views and a well-kept, presentable hotel both inside and out. We had both breakfast and dinner during our stay. The food was of very good quality with well-prepared dishes, though dinner prices felt slightly high considering the setting. Still, it was convenient and enjoyable, especially when with family or for a special event. We were given three rooms for our families. As bride and groom, we stayed in the largest room (EUR 200/night), which was spacious, vintage in style, and had two large windows. We appreciated the in-room tea and coffee maker. The smaller rooms with direct lake views were charming and suitable for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately, certain behaviours affected our stay. A lady (possibly the owner?) let her dog roam freely throughout the hotel and restaurant — at one point even jumping on a dining table. Her friends also brought dogs to dinner, which barked frequently. This was inappropriate and unhygienic for guests, especially since booking platforms (Booking.com, Trivago, BringFido) state that pets aren’t allowed. The inconsistency in policy was disappointing. Rooms are on the first floor, accessible via a staircase next to reception. There’s a large fridge at the bottom for water bottles, but no door separates the floors. As a result, we could clearly hear guests leaving, bottles being handled, and bins being used between 11 p.m. and midnight. Most disruptive was the dog barking loudly for 15+ minutes around midnight, waking my toddler. Instead of moving the dog to a quiet room, the lady shouted at it — making things worse. I love dogs, but there are limits in shared spaces. The Wi-Fi was another issue — weak and unreliable in the rooms, only stable on the ground floor. A more consistent connection would be expected at this level. Our room, while not bad, could use an update. The red-brown carpet is dated and would be better replaced with wood flooring. There was visible mould between the wardrobe and window wall — clearly cleaned periodically, but it needs deeper treatment, which is understandable in lake settings. Some furnishings felt mismatched or flimsy: a beige leather sofa clashed with the vintage decor, a round table with a heavy oriental lamp was unstable, the desk chair was wobbly, the headboard outdated, and the shower door didn’t close properly. The wall-mounted hairdryer was very noisy, and the small TV high on the wall looked out of scale. Several extension cords and loose sockets gave a cluttered and unsafe impression. On a positive note, Alina at reception was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the cleaning lady was thoughtful and made sure our room was ready for the bridal party. In summary, Villa Baroni has great potential, thanks to its stunning location and kind staff. However, pet management, noise control, Wi-Fi, and room maintenance need improvement to match the villa’s charm.

11/05/2025: A place with attention to the smallest details, with a cozy atmosphere, with refined pieces of furniture chosen with great care. The menu is refined, with unusual combinations that clearly distinguish themselves from classic Chinese restaurants and traditional sushi. The staff is very discreet, but offers an attentive and professional service. The intimate environment allows you to converse calmly, without excessive noise in the room. We really spent a pleasant evening and we would recommend this experience. Adequate price and absolutely not expensive for the quality offered.

01/06/2025: An unforgettable double party at Enosteria On Sunday, June 1st, we celebrated two special events: Grandpa Alberto's 90th birthday and my retirement at the end of my career. We couldn't have chosen a better place! What can I say about this Enosteria? First of all, a big round of applause for the refined cuisine and the elegant setting, which made lunch even more enjoyable. The quality of the dishes is truly excellent, as is the professionalism and courtesy of the staff, always attentive and helpful. The menu offers both fresh fish dishes and Lombard specialties: among all, a real delight are the Gragnano spaghetti with clams, prepared to perfection. The wine selection is also wide and well-curated. An impeccable lunch from every point of view. Sincere compliments to Nicoletti Luca and all the staff!

03/05/2025: We chose to go there mainly because I was looking for a grotto. There were 16 of us and we agreed first on the menu so as not to create too many problems for the service and already from the exchange of messages I had noticed a rare availability. We then ate very well: fried gnocco with cured meats and cheeses, lake starter, lake fish lasagne, asparagus risotto, Sicilian beef and lake fish rolls and tempura vegetables, as well as apple pie, chocolate cake and goat's fiordilatte ice cream. Only at the time of the bill did we learn about the non-profit organization that animates this reality and we were doubly happy, not only to have been treated divinely but also to have been able to support this initiative. 10 and praise

Cibo di ottima qualità e molto buono (menù alla brace strepitoso!). Ottima scelta dei vini. Prezzi onestissimi. Unica pecca il sito internet da rivedere, confuso e zeppo di bug (avrei tolto mezza stella se fosse stato possibile). Ci ritornerò sicuramente

However, I would have liked to remove half a star due to the website's dated and improvable appearance, confusing and with many bugs. I will definitely come back.

16/05/2025: Excellent experience in every way! La Réclame is a real gem in Sesto Calende. An elegant and well-kept place, perfect for a special evening or a relaxed dinner. The cuisine is refined but accessible: delicious dishes, well presented and with high quality ingredients. The wine selection is also excellent. The staff is kind, professional and very attentive - they make you feel truly pampered. The location is also beautiful, with a view of the square, quiet and suggestive. We will definitely be back. 05/05/2025: I was pleasantly surprised by the place. It is an easy-going restaurant but at the same time elegant and refined. The food is excellent (the only flaw is the bones found in the salmon trout, but given the fullness of the place there could also be a small "accident"), the place is very beautiful and even the pond has its scenic effect. Favorite note of the evening was the owner, super fun and company! Advised!

18/05/2025: An incredible experience! The food was simply divine, excellent dishes, prepared with ingredients of their own production, fresh and of high quality. The location is enchanting, immersed in greenery and surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. The staff was extremely courteous and welcoming. The place is enchanting, with rustic structures and traditional furnishings that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this agriturismo to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing experience in nature :)

15/05/2025: Farm to table restaurant with terrific food, awesome service, and the absolute best gelato you'll ever taste!! The Piccinelli family is hospitable, friendly, and passionate about their business and guests. You won't be disappointed with trying the seasonal beer, digesto, specialty noodles, or honey. And you must try the many varieties of home-made gelato. I plan to visit the Azienda Agricola Piccinelli any time i visit Europe. It is definitely worth the trip.
