09/03/2026: I've been frequenting Murataya for a while, and for me, it's one of Saronno's go-to places for authentic Japanese cuisine. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and the quality is immediately apparent, especially in the sushi and sashimi, which are prepared with great precision and respect for the ingredients. I recently had the opportunity to attend a Ramen evening, and I must say it was an extraordinary surprise: the broth was deep and rich in umami, perfectly balanced, one of the best I've ever tried. The ambiance is refined, the atmosphere is calm, and the service is always attentive. This is a place I continue to recommend to anyone looking for a true Japanese cuisine experience in the area.

03/03/2026: Didn't live up to expectations. I was intrigued by the high reviews, but unfortunately I was disappointed. The restaurant presents itself as an authentic, high-end Japanese restaurant. The decor is elegant and the service excellent, but we're disappointed by the food. I had a California roll, and the salmon was a bit bland. The sushi selection is very basic and international, with a marked lack of nigiri and more authentic rolls. The gyudon was also good, though. It had beef stew, but unfortunately, it's nothing like a real gyudon. A little less good was the barking dog in the kitchen.

28/11/2025: The ideal place to buy pastries, baked goods, have breakfast, or simply enjoy a sweet treat with their amazing croissants. Everything is delicious, with a wide selection. Friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. A must try.

08/03/2026: A good Chinese restaurant specializing in various types of steamed dumplings and traditional Chinese dishes. They also offer some Japanese dishes (sushi). The quality is good—I'll definitely be back.

20/02/2026: Just had a meal for two here and the food was fantastic! There is a wide range of dishes to chose from so it made it hard to decide what to get but in the end we ended up ordering a lot of dishes and every single one was so delicious! The price is reasonable for the quality. I have already recommended this place to my friends when they are working in the area and I will certainly be back again.

21/02/2026: Diodona is a gem nestled in the greenery of the Lombard Prealps, between Varese and Como: an old farmhouse transformed into a refined venue, surrounded by several hectares of parkland with a garden, a greenhouse, and a slow-paced atmosphere. The ambiance is elegant yet warm, rustic-chic with touches of class—perfect for intimate dinners, special occasions, or weddings, but also for a gourmet evening without the overly formality. The service is attentive, professional, and friendly, with a relaxed pace, sometimes almost too relaxed, that perfectly complements the location. We started with a canapé (on a black base, probably squid ink bread): not bad. Marinated or smoked salmon with a spiced cream, currants, and micro-herbs. Fresh, balanced between smoky, acidic, and creamy. Followed by a platter of cured meats and raw meats: firm and flavorful beef tartare, sciatt soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, excellent prosciutto crudo, bresaola, salami, and several types of cheese. The quality of the ingredients is evident, the presentation elegant without being overbearing. As for the first course: ravioli in rosé cream: the most memorable dish. A velvety sauce (light bisque), generous pieces of fresh shrimp, citrus zest, and fine herbs. The sweetness of the crustacean, the citrus acidity, and the perfect creaminess—impeccable, yet not heavy technique. Finally, two delicious options. A nougat parfait with Aurum sauce, and I absolutely loved the blueberry tart with its grappa ice cream. One was creamier, with vanilla cream, yellow coulis, fresh red berries, and strawberry—fresh, tart, and not cloying. The other was a shared dessert with grappa ice cream, moist, delicious, and beautifully strong. In short: high-quality, seasonal cuisine with attention to the ingredients, meticulous presentation, and balanced portions. The timing between courses could be improved: waiting more than half an hour for a first course seems a bit excessive.

14/12/2025: A fantastic experience at Cherì, a seafood restaurant I absolutely recommend. We started with a mix of raw and hot appetizers, all delicious: the raw seafood was incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. This was followed by a spectacular pan-fried dish with whole lobster, scampi, corn on the cob, and prawns: a rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked dish. To conclude, spaghetti with clams, scampi, and bottarga—simply exceptional. A balance of flavors that made the whole experience unique. Definitely worth repeating. Kudos to the staff and the kitchen!

13/12/2025: A refined and quiet place, but equally suitable for anyone who appreciates good seafood. The rosemary scampi are exceptional, without detracting from the rest of the dishes. The portions are large... compared to other restaurants. Something to keep in mind when ordering. Congratulations to everyone.

The pizza was delicious, and the service was attentive, despite the expected wait. Service was prompt throughout, and the food was served promptly. A definite recommendation from us!

23/12/2025: This campsite on Lake Maggiore absolutely delighted us. The location is simply unbeatable – just steps from the lake. Dogs are welcome (please check the website for the dates!). From our pitch, we had a fantastic view and could enjoy the sunrise over the water every morning. The campsite facilities are excellent: modern showers, always clean toilets, and even a small restaurant with delicious Italian dishes. What we particularly liked was the peaceful atmosphere, which makes the campsite an ideal place to relax, as well as its proximity to towns like Stresa, which can be reached in a short time. Perfect for anyone who wants to combine nature, tranquility, and comfort. A definite favorite for us!

01/01/2026: Excellent place for a set lunch. Ideal for when you don't feel like cooking. It's the restaurant I'd recommend first if a tourist or friend asked me for recommendations. Simple cuisine that covers 90% of your needs; friendly service and reasonable prices. The only drawback: the ginseng; I tried it a couple of times, but it wasn't satisfying.

22/02/2026: The undisputed king of the area. You come in hungry and leave feeling at peace with the world, a guarantee in Cuveglio. If you've never tried Istanbul pizza kebab in Cuveglio, you should try it right away. It's huge, overflowing with top-quality meat, and the dough is cooked to perfection. A true delight for the palate, probably the best in the area. The kebab is always fresh, the meat is flavorful, and the portions are decidedly generous. The bread is heated to perfection, and the ingredients are fresh. The piadina is thin and crispy, and the spicy sauce has just the right kick. I have to give an honorable mention to their pizza kebab: if you've never tried Istanbul pizza kebab, you should try it right away. It's huge, overflowing with top-quality meat, and the dough is cooked to perfection. A true delight for the palate, probably the best in the area. The staff is quick and friendly, the place is spotlessly clean, and the service is super efficient even at peak times. Perfect for a quick dinner or a post-evening treat. Unbeatable value. A must-see in Valcuvia! If you're passing through Cuveglio and don't stop by Istanbul, you're missing out on a piece of the valley's history. Awesome!

And we would be ready to return to Italy, especially for Angolo Del Gusto, as this restaurant left us with such wonderful memories of beautiful Italy, with its atmosphere, delicious food, family spirit, and the sheer joy that permeates it! I hope the whole team is doing well. We will definitely be back!

It's a shame about the paella, which I answered too late to answer, otherwise I would have won that too. 😋 But the owner did offer me two desserts. The owner is incredibly kind and helpful, the staff is professional and friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is warm. Highly recommended. Go there! 👍
