04/04/2025: È stata una delle cene più terribili della mia vita. Siamo arrivati in 4 su consiglio di una cantina del posto, location spettacolare, ma la cameriera con i capelli neri, maleducata sbrigativa e terribile. Ci siamo proprio resi conto di essere di troppo e di dare fastidio. Ci hanno servito pizzoccheri del giorno prima riscaldati malamente, e costata di cervo (sembrava manzo) cruda, terribile e come la suola di una scarpa.
Non ci hanno fatto provare il vino perché a detta della cameriera simpatica "il vino sfuso non si prova". (Siamo viticoltori/cantinieri)
È stato imbarazzante. Niente di più. Pensare che alle 21.05 dopo nemmeno un'ora che eravamo al tavolo e che ci hanno servito alla velocità della luce nonostante fosse venerdì sera, hanno anche spento le luci di metà sala, come per dire: ANDATEVENE.

09/02/2025: We stayed in this hotel on an organized trip, one night with dinner included. I must say it was a discovery! Delightful room with mezzanine, children's play area, bar service for aperitifs (very plentiful), very good typical dinner and course to teach us how to make pizzoccheri.

29/03/2025: As we have been told by our hotel staff, this is one of the best pizza place in Toronto. It was a bit of a walk about 20 minutes from Bernina Express train station however walk was worth it. It’s also close to a Basilica.
They offer about 20 to 30 different pizza and the best part is it’s a good fire oven. It was a teen crest and plenty of veggie options. Also tried there Italian beer. I wouldn’t say it was a local but from Italy and it’s pretty good.

The staff always welcomes customers with great care. While the dishes, prepared by expert hands and faithful to tradition, are all unforgettable, from appetizers to dessert. Furthermore, the location, cared for in the smallest details, immerses the guest in the atmosphere of the territory's past. Finally, staying in one of the rooms made available by the structure is a real treat for those looking for a family environment where they can recharge their batteries. And, as if that were not enough, the prices are designed to be suitable for all families.

15/04/2025: More than a farmhouse 🐮
We only stopped at the Quattro Stagioni restaurant and in all sincerity, it never disappoints. Dishes perhaps not so typical, but we ranged from the cheese stand (selected at the table) and the cold cuts platter, to the beef tongue (which is the best I've ever tasted) up to the Tzigoiner and no cut, no morsel, even the entrée burrini, disappointed expectations.
I would put my hand in the fire when I say that in terms of quality/price in 2025 it will remain the best farmhouse in Lombardy.
The à la carte red wines are mainly superior Valtelline, but the choice is more than wide.
The only flaw was the service which started very well, but due to the rush on the kitchen closing time it became quite annoying after the third push on ordering the second courses within 5 minutes (it was 1.40 and we had arrived 10 minutes apart and ordered the starters and wine within 1 minute).
Excellent desserts, and in general all dairy-based dishes.
Excellent choice also for gluten intolerants (including pizzoccheri).
In any case, the place is also suitable for families with children, especially because of the "farm" at the end of lunch.

There was a mix-up with our booking and the reception staff immediately went out of their way to resolve the problem, solving it, in fact.
We had a guided tour and Elisa was really good and attentive in explaining everything to us very well.
Suitable place for both families and people in the sector who want to learn more about the company.
Super buffet breakfast; very good lunch with typical and above all zero km products. Fair prices, given the service offered.
Reception and dining room staff really friendly and always smiling.
Truly recommended!

10/03/2025: Il sorriso non si vedeva nemmeno in foto e già qui non va bene. Poi prendiamo il menù invernale da 35€ e ci portano porzioni stile Nouvelle cousine..buone ma veramente striminzite .tempi di attesa abbastanza alti e nel pagare nemmeno voleva farci la ricevuta. Mai più!

31/12/2024: Dònguri in Japanese means acorn which is the symbol of eternal love and hospitality. In retrospect I would say that it is no coincidence that it is the Orterie logo.
Orterie tells of a journey and an idea of cooking, of family and dedication.
It seems like you are actually entering the house of Rie and Francesco (chef and dining room, respectively) an entrance that takes you to the middle of Japan or even Friuli (I lost count of the bottles of Gravner - then I discovered that in the cellar you can reach up to those of the 80s!) and many other corners of the world - see also wine list.
The question arises spontaneously: what is a Japanese Chef doing who has walked the lines of kitchens in Australia, Canada, Italy and India, alongside chefs like Cannavacciulo and Leemann; Well, what are you doing in Villa di Tirano, or rather, in Stazzona (the hamlet) - 611 registered inhabitants?
We'll find out soon.
Sitting in the lounge, authentic and essential, together with the other guests, the choice of menu is simple - how much I love the possibility of NOT having to choose: the menu is the same for everyone.
Orterie was a very pleasant winter discovery where seasonal vegetables are the protagonists of every dish, essentially at 0 km. Chef Rie's superlative cuisine allows you to taste them as you never would have thought, to find balance and refinement, but also joy and simplicity.
A small flight to Japan, without forgetting to be citizens of the world. And so it happens that the Gozen (in Japanese the King's food), on the typical gastronomic tray, has the best crispy beetroot with barbecue sauce I have ever eaten in my life, as well as perfect Arab-style falafel, but also apple paired with vegan cheese lovingly closed in a light batter.
We come across velvety soups that recall prunus mume in flower, without limiting themselves to beauty, they are persistent in taste and present in every spoonful in which the hints of beetroot, onion, carrots, puffed rice and sage echo.
Orterie is the fusion of the Chef's professional and personal experiences, of knowledge and awareness of the territory that emerges in the Agedashi Tofu with mascarpone fondue: incredible.
Orterie is home, hospitality, which touches every aspect of the dinner up to the selection of Capovilla grappas (the corner of my Veneto - as I told you, the one proposed is a truly interesting wine journey) and the wide choice of coffees; it's experimentation and creativity.
And in the end we understand why the menu couldn't have been proposed otherwise. We cannot choose individually because the path is a journey into the world and nature, a journey that has very clear roots and a common thread: happiness.
It is truly a very successful experience in bringing very different cultures into a difficult and sometimes surly area like that of Valtellina.
We'll be back to try it in other seasons, for sure. And we recommend it to you too.

20/10/2024: A wonderful place with delicious food and kind people. We arrived after a bike ride 🚴, tired and wet. They set us up near the fireplace, allowing us to warm up, and served us a delicious meal.
I highly recommend this place to all travellers🔥. A true refuge that you want to find after a difficult day
