Magnificent!!! We tried the famous pizzoccheri, a lasagna, and a carbonara. For dessert, tiramisu and crème brûlée. Everything was delicious. On a visit to Tirano, don't miss the opportunity to eat at this restaurant. Arrive early to guarantee a table.

Small friendly trattoria in the old town piazza. Need to book or turn up early, as we did and just got in, many arrived later to be turned away. Delicious regional menu, mostly meat dishes, good portions and value. Cured meat platter with pickles plenty for 2. Beef cheeks and steak expertly cooked.

A highly praised place. The buckwheat appetizers with cheese inside and the buckwheat pancakes with cheese are not worth the price. Only the veal cheeks are unique and the tagliatelle with game meat. The desserts are quite ordinary and unremarkable. The wine in the photos is extremely sour, I didn't like it at all. The draft wines in Emilia Romana and Puglia are much more aromatic and full-bodied. I even gave them a very high rating, for 130 euros in this remote town they literally tear their skins for a dinner.

Very good traditional food, I recommend it with pleasure. Don't hesitate! The owner is great, the food is prepared quickly and very tasty! Pizzoccheri valtellinesi and all the pastas!

We went to Trattoria Gagin twice in the evening. Upon arrival, the waiters greeted us very warmly, which was much appreciated. It's worth noting that they always spoke to us in Italian, even though we don't speak it perfectly; they never switched to English, which was a big plus 💙
We tried the charcuterie board and the cheese board, both with top-quality products. We especially loved the cheeses.
We also tried different pasta dishes, including the local specialty, "pizzoccheri." Words can't describe how beautiful and delicious that dish was.
The other pastas were also excellent, but I highly recommend trying the pizzoccheri.
For dessert, we tried the tiramisu and the coffee affogato—both were superb!
Finally, the staff's friendliness was outstanding. The experience was fantastic both times we went. Highly recommended!

Lovely little restaurant. We had a booking at 7pm - there was no one in there, by 7:10pm the place was full! Excellent food!! Loved the half carafe of white frizz one wine too.
Liked it all so much, we’re back there tonight!

A nice restaurant, which you wouldn't necessarily guess from the outside. The food and service are very good. Our only complaint was the cold white lighting.
