26/01/2025: I was there for dinner with my daughter, a very elegant, slightly vintage place....we ate fish and it was fresh and of good quality....an excellent wine cellar...a little high but adequate price...parking hard to find at weekends...

02/06/2025: If I could I would give zero. We were there today and we were very disappointed, service was embarrassing to say the least, waiting for appetizer and 2 first courses of almost 2 hours. Super small menu and really terrible quality. The cold cuts and cheese platter absolutely not justified its price of 20 euros, and the two first courses: dry braised ravioli with a little bit of braised meat and my lean ravioli seem like the ones from the supermarket of very low quality.. The whole thing 63 euros, I would say a steal. NEVER AGAIN.

20/05/2025: Cover charge 3 euros per person. Dishes neither praiseworthy nor infamous with first courses costing 14 euros, appetizers and second courses costing 20 euros. What was served was not worth the price paid in my opinion, for example the ribs were enormous, fatty with overcooked and greasy sauce. The first course, a kind of green gnocchi was "kneaded" and tasteless. We did not have the "luck" to try the Varzi cake because "it ran out the night before"... The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is kind.

04/05/2025: Tried both with kitchen and pizzeria. Based on the dishes we tried, the fish dinner was not bad, let's say discreet. The sword in the first course was frozen and, although it is correctly specified on the menu, you could taste the difference. The crusted seafood linguine is good and plentiful. Personally, the paccheri seemed a little hard, perhaps a little behind in cooking, however this detail can be subjective. The sea bass was good, the combination with the parmesan was interesting, even if in my opinion the two flavors seemed a little unrelated: still a pleasant dish. The sparkling white wine was discreet and accompanied the dishes well. As a pizzeria we are at the same level. Ordered sausage and broccoli: the dough was good, the same goes for the mozzarella; however both the broccoli and sausage didn't add much flavor and their texture was a bit weak, which was a shame. The craft beer is excellent but the choice is limited, otherwise you will be forced to choose commercial beers. Service staff, friendly and punctual. Normal wait for the pizzeria, a bit borderline for the cuisine, but still acceptable.

25/05/2025: Terza volta in taverna, le prime due a pranzo l’ultima di sabato sera. Localino carino in un vicoletto nel pieno centro storico di Pavia. Dicono che cucinano tutto al momento, cosa che giustificherebbe solo in parte i lunghissimi tempi di attesa… (abile tecnica per ingolosire gli ospiti con gli antipasti?). La differenza tra il pranzo e la cena è sensibile. Contrariamente al pranzo, il sabato sera si è davvero avvertita la pressione della fretta o, comunque, l’impazienza del titolare (?) che tutto fa fuorché mettere a proprio agio gli ospiti. A mio avviso l’ansia riesce a trasmetterla anche ai ragazzi che servono i tavoli: sebbene premurosi ed attenti, restano rigidi ed ingessati. Insomma, considerato che la cucina non è affatto male, consiglierei Taverna Santorini più per asporto che per trascorrere qualche momento piacevole a tavola con amici.

05/05/2025: We went for dinner and found a large, clean and well-furnished environment, with convenient internal parking. You can choose between a tasting menu for 40 euros or eat à la carte. The tasting menu includes several appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, dessert, coffee, water and wine. The dishes were excellent, very well prepared (which is not always a given in a farmhouse) and the service was courteous and efficient.

01/04/2025: During a business trip, I found this agriturismo, which allowed me to stay for a night in the area I needed. I was warmly welcomed by the owners with remarkable kindness and hospitality. While the rooms are basic and the noise from the restaurant below is quite noticeable, once the service ends, you can enjoy a good level of peace, despite the proximity to the busy main road. I particularly want to highlight the option to have dinner on-site at a very reasonable fixed price, with food that is absolutely fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying the house wine, which is produced directly on the premises. I hope to return soon!

Un risultato che non vi dimenticherete, ottima anche la selezione dei vini (davvero degna di nota), personale attento, simpatico e gentile. Super consigliato!

Non aspettatevi piatti sofisticati e gourmet ma se avete voglia di mangiare cibo saporito e semplice con i gusti giusti e cucinati con evidente passione non esitate e venite qui a mangiare! consigliata la prenotazione. Il vino all'altezza del cibo. Il servizio è cortese, simpatico ed attento. Il conto correttissimo. I mei/nostri complimenti, tutti i commensali erano soddisfattissim!

13/05/2025: Sicuramente, sono stato parecchie volte qui, e la locazione, è meraviglioso. Devo dire, che anche il menù fisso, a soli 13 euro, è impareggiabile. Come primo, tortiglioni all'arrabbiata. Il sugo, una vera delizia, è all'onda, cioe, la pasta rimane meravigliosa, senza incollarlo. Il secondo, che ho scelto, una braciola con patatina fritte. Le patatine più buone che abbia mai mangiato. E la braciola? Eccellente, fatta alla piastra, sembra chev" TI PARLI ", e dice, " MANGIAMI ". Secondo me " ALLE GROTTE DI ARES ", è un " LUOGO MAGICO ", dove le persone oltre a mangiare, apprezzano una cucina " CASALINGA " che " RARAMENTE SIBTROVA. E che dire della pizza? La pizza è " FANTASTICA ". Tutte le volte, Alban, il cuoco, mette " LA SUA MAGIA NELL'IMPASTO ", è la pizza, " TE LA DIVORI " . Devo dire che " ALLE GROTTE DI ARES ", è un locale " MAGICO ". dove le persone si ritrovano, e trovano un luogo di " PACE E TRANQUILLITÀ ". E il prezzo? 26/04/2025: I have been there several times both to consume the "à la carte" menu and for a simple pizza. I have to say I've always had a really good time. I really like their pizzas as well as their cooked dishes. Ah, tonight I'm going there for a pizza with my son... Very kind staff, fast service. Advised!!!

25/05/2025: Very nice place but with the change of management the level has dropped dramatically. Tasteless and anonymous dishes, the tiramisu was even a bit rancid, poor service and an embarrassing wine list. Never again

11/05/2025: Very good food in Pavia! A Sunday with the family... a bit of a wait but the food was delicious! The wine list was also a bit too expensive... However, it will remain a good memory of Pavia!

09/03/2025: Locale molto easy ma allo stesso tempo molto accattivante. Possibilità di scegliere tra cucina e pizza, ottima! Nella bella stagione si può consumare all'aperto su un'ampia terrazza. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile. Locale dotato di ampio parcheggio privato. Prezzi nella norma.

18/12/2024: Pizzeria with excellent choice, special pizzas, gourmet type but at normal prices. Nice place, especially in the summer season with the outdoor area. Open on Mondays when almost all are closed
