08/12/2025: We found it by chance, as all the restaurants in the center of Castelrotto were closed. It was around 1:30 PM, and when we called, they told us the kitchen was open until around 2 PM. As soon as we arrived, they welcomed us kindly, which wasn't exactly expected given the hour. We ate very well, both the dumplings in broth and the excellent venison goulash. The restaurant is five minutes from the center (you need to take the car), but definitely recommended for a quiet stay and good food.

19/08/2025: Embarrassing: on the waiter's recommendation, I order the dish of the day, risotto with fresh porcini and chanterelle mushrooms. I'm served a runny rice soup with chanterelle mushrooms, and to top it all off, my plate contains porcini mushrooms, while my companion's plate contains only a single piece of porcini. It's probably my fault for trusting the waiter's advice! But heck, using appropriate rice for risotto doesn't seem complicated! I decide to eat it anyway and not argue. However, when they asked me how my lunch went, I couldn't help but express my disappointment. They apologized, claiming there were problems in the kitchen, not admitting that the real problem was the use of inappropriate rice, soup rice. They probably think risotto is like that... a big pot for everyone! The icing on the cake... to apologize for my dissatisfaction, they discounted my water. At that point, I was speechless. I'm not in the habit of writing bad reviews, but this is bordering on the grotesque. A few clarifications regarding the response I received from the owner: I don't accept being called unfair by claiming that the comments in the review weren't brought forward that evening. Talk to your waitress, the one who came to pick up the dishes. She kindly asked me if I liked the dish, and I just as kindly explained to her in detail what wasn't right. The waitress probably didn't tell her what I had reported, merely saying that I hadn't liked it.

14/10/2025: We stayed at this hotel for an extended period for work. The owners, Antonio and Cristina, were very kind, always available, and attentive. I highly recommend it.

12/11/2025: Fantastic swimming pool, a full 5 stars! We visited twice during our autumn holiday and got free entry for 3 hours each time with the BrixenCard. There was something for everyone in the family: slide, whirlpool, lazy river, toddler area, swimming pool, large outdoor saltwater pool (sauna and gym available for an extra charge). In short: We'll definitely be back!

09/11/2025: Beautiful swimming pools and relaxing saunas are located on the upper floor. The water slide is a big hit with the kids. A lifeguard and a traffic light system ensure safety. There's also a toddler area with its own pool and two small slides. The showers and toilets are usually clean. Unfortunately, the indoor bar is closed during the summer. A plus is the water fountain where you can fill your own water bottle. The relaxation area is spacious and offers plenty of room.

07/09/2025: On a group vacation in Val Badia, returning from a hike, we stopped at this bistro for lunch. The food was good, with a wide selection, the staff was extremely efficient and courteous (special mention goes to one waitress from Puglia), the views were breathtaking, and the prices were fair. Definitely recommended.

09/11/2025: One of the best wineries in Alto Adige. One of the best Gewurtztraminers I've ever tasted, but especially their Pinot Noirs. Courteous and hospitable.

03/10/2025: In the center of Termeno/Tramin, a renowned winery produces high-quality wines, primarily based on Traminer and Pinot Noir. The production of dealcoholized wines from Riesling grapes is interesting; we particularly liked the new Dr. Fischer, made from grapes that provide a low-alcohol base. The woman who welcomed us was very knowledgeable and helpful, allowing us to fully understand and appreciate Hofstätter wines.

03/10/2025: We got lost in the middle of Route 526 (a loop trail of Sassolungo group mountains), and managed to get to the Hut at about 7:30 pm after struggle. The sky was already dark and the weather was cold then. We were exhausted (after almost 8 hours of walk) without much water left to make the way back to Passo Sella carpark. Upon arriving the entrance of the Hut (already closed for business), we saw someone came out of the Hut and we almost screamed for some assistance. We were grateful we were allowed to get in the Hut and to make use of washroom and the staff also filled up our water bottle. They pointed us the right path to the car park and assured that it was a relatively flat path which took just about 30 mins of walk. Finally we took the path in complete darkness only with the iphone light torch😅 We were really grateful for the help of the Hut staff👍👍

30/09/2025: We shared a pasta and they also gave plenty of bread. It was delicious, cooked al dente and a nice vegan option unless you add the parm cheese they give. The view from this place was also wonderful!

10/10/2025: Newly renovated bar. Very good food and a wide selection. The view of the Baranci is truly spectacular. The staff is quite friendly. Recommended.

31/10/2025: The ambiance was lovely. Some of the prices were absolutely exorbitant. A frittata soup, which wasn't on the menu, cost €9.50. A sandwich bag cost €2.50 per person, even for children, and there was only a small bread basket for six people. Was the tip included in the price?

29/11/2025: We stopped at this pizzeria on the way. It's a simple but clean place, and the pizza was truly excellent. I had a Margherita, which was perfect in every way: cooked, dough, and mozzarella. Then I had a Romana, which was even better. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was informal. Possibly the best pizza in Bolzano.

27/09/2025: I had a nice time here for dinner. Sitting outside despite the weather, chill atmosphere, and very friendly and helpful staff. The food (custom pizza, salad, beer, coffee) was all really good and came quickly. The price was also fare, no surprises. If you pass by, give these nice guys a chance!

25/10/2025: The Unterfinser Hof is beautifully situated and is a classic Buschenschank (wine tavern) with plenty of charm. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, and the wooden parlor immediately conveys a homey feeling—exactly what you'd expect from a traditional South Tyrolean farm. The outdoor area, with its view of the surrounding landscape, is also truly inviting. The food was solid, but not outstanding. The dishes are down-to-earth and fresh, but I felt they lacked a bit of refinement and spice. The Brettljause (snack) in particular, while plentiful, was rather average in terms of taste. The wine was good, but the overall value for money was a bit limited. The service was friendly, but a bit inattentive at times—perhaps due to the full house. A few minor things, such as empty glasses that weren't cleared away for a while or a rather long wait for dessert, somewhat marred the overall impression. In conclusion: A pleasant Buschenschank with an authentic atmosphere, ideal for a cozy evening in a rustic setting. But it's not quite enough to be a real insider tip (yet). I would come back, but with rather subdued expectations.

05/09/2025: A lovely little ice cream parlor in a beautiful location. The flavor variations are highly recommended for chocolate lovers, as chocolate is mixed into all flavors. They offer a few unusual varieties. However, you'll have to dig a bit deeper into your pockets than you get back. Pay €1.90 for a scoop and you get a very small cup. In summary, you could say you're paying for the place with the ice cream, which is a bit of a shame.
