11/06/2026: Very nice place with retro decor. In my opinion, the food is quality, but the cooking lacks a bit of passion and care. The first course was bland and undercooked. The second course was the same: the meat was grilled without a drizzle of oil or even a little rosemary or other herbs. They forgot about the baked potatoes in the microwave, so much so that they were still overcooked 15 minutes after they were served. Meanwhile, they charged a whopping 50 euros per person. This isn't a criticism, but if someone who's on the go for work comes into your restaurant full of enthusiasm to have a peaceful dinner, why don't you put a little good humor into it to make them feel at home!?

03/07/2026: The art of making, an innate virtue, and when this marries the poetry of knowing how to cook, well... what can you do? Just be enraptured by tasting sublime dishes, sometimes seemingly simple dishes that then transform in the mouth into a succession of flavors and inevitable emotions. If then, in applauding the chef, or rather, we must say the Chef and his excellent team, there is a lady who seems to have stepped out of a Grimm Brothers' fairy tale, with sparkling eyes and an infectious smile, a master of the fine art of winemaking, who with care and kindness, takes you on a tour of the menus (there are two menu options or an à la carte choice) and then opens the doors of knowledge to those who want to drink well. But, it must be said without ever going beyond what is necessary, what can one think of such service? And when you think about being on a path that points upwards... and at Monviso, the succession of dishes, from the first bite to dessert, is a true journey, which, step by step, takes you to the summit, and from there, you lose yourself in the memories of the flavors and colors that made this beautiful culinary journey possible. In conclusion, it seems obvious to us to thank those who, once again... made us... dream, with the certain desire to RETURN 🥂

12/06/2026: One of those rare restaurants where tradition is interpreted with respect and intelligence. The management is very young, extremely kind, and cheerful. The menu is limited, but able to satisfy all tastes. Two tasting menus, one more traditional (40 euros) and one fish-based (50 euros). There's no obligation to choose the same tasting menu for all diners (a rare yet appreciated thing). We tried the traditional menu, which was very convincing. The pre-starter, a canapé with creamed cauliflower and anchovy soup with pepper sauce, is the epitome of the cuisine: beautiful to look at, delicate, full of technically reinterpreted references to local cuisine. The mixed traditional antipasto is good, but could still be improved (the Russian salad lacked a pinch of salt, and the cooked salami and anchovies were good but not exceptional. I found the pepper with tuna touching in its extreme simplicity, an exact replica of the essential cooking of Cuneo grandmothers from a few decades ago). Then the menu takes off: splendid ragù ravioli on a bed of béchamel, capunet of Fassona oxtail with vegetables, and zuppa inglese parfait, all delicious and topped off by the smiles of the young women in the dining room. If only there were a restaurant like this in Turin.

07/03/2026: A wonderful and meticulously maintained restaurant, but when we requested well-done cooking, two of the three dishes we ordered arrived almost rare, resulting in less than half of the food (basically the outer part that was well-done). When we pointed this out, we were met with a simple "sorry," and the dishes weren't that cheap... what a shame!

15/06/2026: We organized a last-minute lunch because we were passing through the center of Barolo. Welcoming restaurant, we ate the very freshly cut beef tartare and veal with tuna sauce, a typical dish. Tajarin for her, and an unexpected second course for me, a selection of 10 cheeses, all on the menu as a second course! A first for us; all the cheeses were delicious and completely satisfied.

16/06/2026: I've been dreaming of coming to Ciau del Tornavento for years, and I finally made it. I can say the wait was well worth it: one of those experiences that lingers in your heart and on your palate for a long time. Everything started in the best possible way with the chef's greeting: the cod meatball and raw sausage were simply incredible. Among the appetizers, the foie gras was very good with its jams, and I was also surprised by the crème brûlée that accompanied it. The dish that struck me the most, the one I'll never forget, was the ravioli: the pasta was rolled out very thinly, the filling excellent, the egg surprise, absolute perfection in every detail. The veal with tuna sauce was also very good, with tender meat cooked to perfection. The shrimp breaded in breadsticks and walnuts were unique and very tasty: an original idea, crunchy and flavorful, that won me over immediately. The ravioli del plin were good, but I have to be honest: I found them a bit larger than I expected, which is why they weren't my favorite dish. For the main course, the goat was described as excellent by those who tasted it, and I loved the cutlet: very, very good. To round things off, a glass of Château d'Yquem accompanied by a small selection of excellent cheeses. A fitting finale for a meal of this caliber. Huge applause to the young sommelier, who recommended two perfect bottles to accompany the meal, and to the entire staff: young, kind, attentive, and passionate. The chef personally stopped by to say hello, a gesture that made everything even more special. It was 30 degrees, but the fans did their job, and the beauty of the landscape enjoyed from outside made the atmosphere magical. A setting that alone is worth the visit. La Ciau del Tornavento is a rare place, where cuisine, service, and the beauty of the setting blend into something unique. I will definitely return.

14/07/2026: A historic restaurant, albeit in a "new" location. I'd been to the old location many years ago and had a better experience, even though the menu is still the same. Traditional dishes, well-prepared, generous portions, and many courses. Fast and friendly service, and at the end of the meal, Gemma personally comes by to say hello and ask if you enjoyed your meal. The only problem is getting a reservation... practically impossible!

03/03/2026: Classy osteria. A charming place, from the attentive, friendly, professional staff to the authentic, refined food, presented in a way worthy of a Michelin-starred chef. The wine selection is superb and extensive, highly recommended for pairing with the dishes. The service is impeccable, patient, and incredibly kind, even with children. The ample, off-street parking is very convenient and practical. There are only a few rooms, and we even stayed in them. Breakfast and a good night's sleep were also excellent.
