21/07/2025: We spent a pleasant evening with friends who introduced us to this inn with a beautiful view, nestled in the Reggio Emilia hills, where we can enjoy a refreshing breeze on a warm summer evening. The friendly service doesn't compromise on quality. Highly recommended.

08/07/2025: A place just a few kilometers from Reggio Emilia. Nestled in a cradle among the hills. Enchanting views and mild climate, even when Reggio Emilia is 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), so it's a good idea to bring a sweater for dinner. Traditional and very good food. Impeccable table service.

05/09/2025: The atmosphere and service are average, but the food was terrible. We had raw fish and an appetizer, and we both felt sick... Plus, it's very expensive.

31/08/2025: Unfortunately, for the first time, we were not satisfied... we ordered an appetizer that never arrived... After almost an hour, the two pizzas arrived. Mine was very good, but my partner's was unfortunately undercooked. The bill was correct, and the service was still courteous. We assume it was due to a bad night. The canned beer served was also a good month out of date. We'll be back anyway, because it's always been a reliable place.

16/08/2025: It's the classic trattoria bar you'd find in mountainous areas. It's surrounded by mountains, offering wonderful tranquility. The staff is extremely friendly and offers daily and à la carte menus, and can recommend the best dishes. A must-try, a place that will stay in your heart.

12/08/2025: If you love heartfelt, homemade cuisine, Il Poeta Contadino is the place to be. Here, the cappelletti and tortelli, rigorously homemade, have the aroma and flavor of times gone by: thin, fresh pasta, rich fillings, and sauces that tell stories of tradition. And then there's Nadia, the hostess: friendly, genuine, and always ready to put a smile on your face. With her, every table becomes a gathering of friends. A restaurant where you eat well and feel even better.

02/07/2025: An evening to forget. Infernal heat. The climate has been broken for weeks now and they have not taken steps to replace it. For this reason, all the windows were open, resulting in mosquitoes and other insects of all kinds running around inside. Never again! Leaving that place was the best thing of the evening. Eating while sweating is horrible. Despite the inconvenience of the place, the owner did not even pretend to pay attention to the bill. Terrible experience in everything. Fix the climate, eating in hell is not nice!

09/08/2025: My daughter thought she had the best meal of her life here (gnocchi ragu). Truly SUPER! Also, the staff was very attentive and friendly.

08/08/2025: We arrived close to closing time and asked if we could get seated and eat. The owner sat us down, prepared a table for us, and we got a lovely meal and lovely drink. We weren’t rushed or pressured at any point even though we were near closing time. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious and cooked with care. An absolute delight, and a lovely outdoor dinner in a restaurant with lots of ambiance.

10/06/2025: Family-run tavern with a traditional menu and the friendliness of the Apennines. On the road to Villa Minozzo. Not big and with a small and fresh portico. I have to give a high rating because I was lucky enough to come across a Sunday where the "Bomba di Riso" was available, a dish that I love! in white with mushrooms and ragu (not with tomato like some do). very good, I had two portions! Then the usual green and pumpkin tortelli, taglatelle with ragu or mushrooms. All very good. Thanks G.

27/07/2025: The fried gnocco I like, a typical mountain dish! We had lunch with a gnocco and cured meats appetizer, a grilled dish for two with potatoes and grilled vegetables, and finally a delicious apple pie with vanilla ice cream! All in a wonderful and charming place. It was our first time, but we'll be back! Thanks for your hospitality 🙏🏻

21/07/2025: Not only is the food excellent but the location is spectacular, at the foot of the Castle and the little church of St. Andrew.

07/09/2025: Inedible pizza! We ordered three takeout pizzas, and when we opened the box, they didn't look good—few toppings, and the color wasn't very appealing. Unfortunately, the taste lived up to our low expectations, as the pizza was bland, the sausage was pale and dry, and the mozzarella was nonexistent. Never again.

12/08/2025: I was there on Sunday for lunch, but it wasn't the first time. Everything was very good, and the prices were fair... Excellent welcome and service, I also recommend putting some background music on.

02/07/2025: The lido is an awesome place. We are a family of four and had a brilliant afternoon here. The pool is great, lots of shade around the pool and the view over the lake is brilliant. A great way to escape the heat and balance wondering the streets of Varenna with a swim and relax in the afternoon. Our kids also swam in the lake right off the edge of Lido, perfect balance of swimming in the lake and enjoying the pool. The host was very personable and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend.

07/09/2025: Highly recommended restaurant, good food, excellent tigelle, friendly staff. The only suggestion I can make is to explain what's served when it comes to specific items: for example, they brought slightly red bread (delicious) but we didn't know what it was made of, then we asked the waitress and she told us it had tomato sauce. But it's just a suggestion. Fair prices. I recommend it and I'll be back.

06/09/2025: Compliments to this restaurant! Very kind and attentive service! We had gnocco, tigelle, and a mix of cheeses! Everything was excellent! The cured meats were very good! And to finish, a fantastic sorbet! I'll be happy to return! Thank you.

28/08/2025: Pre-made drinks, only poured over ice. Defrosted food (prepared by Pakistanis trying to replicate Italian cuisine). Inattentive and unprepared wait staff. The place appears well-kept, but a closer look reveals some serious flaws. Unacceptable value for money. The only thing that's prestigious is the name and the price.

02/05/2025: I had dinner here with a typical dish from the menu: Panatata, in my opinion, Excellent. The cooking of the meat with mixed vegetables and potatoes, absolutely perfect and with a unique flavour, and wine at the Top. Finally the dish is served by a kind and friendly collaborator. The owner of {La Piana} as well as the Chef is a good person who does his job as a lover of quality cuisine. I will gladly return
