Attentive and punctual service with trained and never intrusive staff A big applause for the organizational ability of the owner who carefully manages and advises customers to satisfy other people's taste buds. One of the strong points is the magnificent panorama that you can see if you are lucky enough to have lunch outside, under stone arches in the historic center. A truly great experience, definitely worth trying again. Reservation is recommended.

22/01/2025: My father and I stopped here for lunch while cruising through Messina. This was a perfect rustic Sicilian and Italian lunch spot full of locals. The place is small and intimate and has all of the benefits of an owner operator setup. The staff are super attentive and thoughtful when it comes to the experience. Where this place really takes off is in the pasta. Great quality pasta with strong well executed flavors was great. It wasn’t a big menu but they really nailed doing a few things with exceptionally well with fresh ingredients. All food does better with the freshest of ingredients but it really is the calling card of great Italian food and this certainly was that. If I am back in Messina I will be back. Also the pistachio semifreddo was a world beater for dessert. The space is very casual and won’t wow a person but the food is where it is at. The best part of the space was that it was full of locals and regulars which made for great people watching. It is also perfect walking distance from the port in a nice part of town.

22/01/2025: Good place to eat. The winter caponata is very delicious, enough quantity to be a starter. The pasta with bacon, tomato and pistachios is spectacular, lots of quantity and well presented. The Sicilian wine and cheese risotto is a delight. The desserts of chocolate cake and pistachio semifreddo were quite acceptable. Beer at €2 and water the same. Children baked potatoes with chicken. And they invited us to coffee. The waiter was charming, very friendly. It is worth coming if you are in Messina. €70 4 people (2 children).

02/01/2025: We have had the pleasure of getting to know Villa Romano on several occasions but December 31st was our first holiday spent away from home. We chose them to live a unique and unforgettable experience. Splendid location, clean and comfortable. Qualified staff, the MASTERS, including Marco who welcomed us on the day of booking, were kind and precise, taking care of every little detail. Superb food and satisfying dishes. The fun? Insured, we dined amidst the sweet voice of a very good singer and the impeccable animation of the entertainers. In short, a 5-star experience for those who don't know Villa Romano and rely on real reviews. Cecere family

14/01/2025: We stayed here for a week and would certainly return. We really enjoyed dinner. The breakfast was also very extensive and something for everyone. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a nice spacious and especially clean room at the front of the hotel. The heat in the room was easy to regulate (which is sometimes a problem in hotels). The free shuttle bus was ideal. The sauna was also clean and tidy! We have always been to Austria for winter sports, but we were very surprised by this beautiful area. A 40-minute drive away you can do the SellaRonda with a Dolomiti Super Ski pass (recommended). We were an adult couple, but also recommended with children. There's a good chance we'll come back here!

09/01/2025: Fantastic hotel in a fantastic town for skiers and non-skiers alike Have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Blitzburg and it's hard to imagine how it could have been any better. The Superior Oak Room we stayed in was generously proportioned and beautifully furnished in a modern style with traditional materials. The service was every bit as warm and welcoming as you might expect from a well-run family business. The restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was excellent, catering well for individual dietary needs. The bar was perfect for a pre-dinner drink, with just the right amount of conviviality without remotely getting boisterous. The shuttle to the ski lifts ran for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon making access to the slopes a doddle. The train station was a 2 minute walk away for adventures further afield. And the town is as elegant and beautiful as any I can remember. Many thanks to the Familie Baumgartner for making our family holiday quite possibly the best we've ever had

21/01/2025: The dinner shift doesn't start before 7.30pm, but arriving a little earlier you can enjoy a mulled wine inside the chalet or in front of the external bonfires. This place is truly a gem in Lessinia!

09/01/2025: I frequented the Clara tavern as a child together with my grandfather Gigiotti from Folgaria, my mother Clelia bought a wonderful picture painted on glass from Clara's daughter which I still have. The premise helps to understand that Clara tavern is a historic place whose customers have been returning for generations. An already beautiful location enriched by the Christmas setting which makes it even more pampering, I thank the management for dedicating the romantic table near the fireplace to us. What about the culinary offerings? Excellent would be an understatement. They offer comfort to the eye and the palate that embody the owners' passion for quality. Last but not least, applause goes to the dining room staff, who are highly trained in clearly illustrating menus and preparation details, combining them with kindness and professionalism. We get to the bill: excellent value for money. I conclude by wishing Taverna Clara to continue on this path, we are already in the fourth generation of tasters :-)

05/01/2025: A small restaurant run entirely and exclusively by the family. When you enter you will be welcomed by the owner's sweet and friendly mother, who will always pamper you as if she has always known you, and then be accompanied to the table by his wife, always alert, quick and ready to fulfill your every request. Once you are seated, he will explain the menu to you verbally, just hearing it makes your mouth water, but you will never expect to really eat so well. Mixed house starter, which can be taken as a whole or in individual courses. Varied and abundant, high quality products and all local, chosen and artfully cooked by Federico, owner and chef, who moves with skill in a small kitchen managing to satisfy many people, who always remain happy and satisfied, so much so which, to be able to enjoy its cuisine on a Sunday for lunch, you will have to book well in advance, but don't be discouraged, it's really worth it. We periodically travel about 2 hours by car to enjoy his dishes. The starters vary based on seasonality or availability, so you will always find fresh and freshly cooked products. Usually the appetizer varies from local cured meats and cheeses, coratella with egg and lemon, tripe with sauce, omelette with porcini mushrooms, pork rinds and beans, bruschetta with real bacon, sometimes also with porcini mushrooms, ascolana olives, which in our opinion are the best I've ever eaten, and the highlight of the courses, grilled porcini mushroom caps, almost impossible not to take 2 portions. During truffle periods it will also delight you with various dishes based on it, and with a very large sleeve when grating it on top. As a first course you will always find an excellent carbonara and gricia, and then always vary according to availability to tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle, an excellent mutton sauce and more, all excellent and plentiful. Second courses based on local meat, always including mixed grill, seared lamb, sausage and more, all cooked to perfection and meat with a truly tasty flavour. You will be so happy to eat that you will wonder why you didn't discover it sooner. The bill is another pleasant surprise, almost unbelievable, and will be another reason why you will want to return. The 3 hosts are exquisite, friendly and kind people, they will make you feel at home, and you will leave with the melancholy of not having this small restaurant next to your house. Maybe it's my favorite place.

08/01/2025: Chef Mancino is a real guarantee, he has been able to adapt the Neapolitan cuisine by aiming it at the Tuscan one, finding himself inside the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte. Three tasting menus with different itineraries, all sublime.

30/12/2024: I had a great time, I liked the food a lot and the proposal was varied, refined but also with flavors that were very traditional for me and in fact I really appreciated certain choices. The best of all, perhaps, however, was the red mullet and the truly surprising starters. The location obviously speaks for itself, and is something wonderful, but also the plates, ceramics, cutlery and glasses are truly beautiful and original, always perfect for every dish. Personally I can't find any faults. Big compliments to the guys who accompanied us through the experience, all super prepared, impeccable and attentive to everything (they didn't let us touch a bottle or even a teaspoon for the coffee, they pampered us and served us with attention in everything). We were looked after by the Arab girl from Morocco (who served us and the next table) who managed to take time for everyone, explaining the dishes to us calmly and precisely. It also surprised us how he was able to seamlessly change from French to English to Italian between tables without leaving anyone without service at any time. Obviously, no less important, the sommelier was also very, very polite and very knowledgeable about everything but never invasive, always warm and not cold in his dealings with us (as often happens in many places where we are always treated with politeness, but also with a certain detachment which I personally like less), but in general the whole prince's team made us feel really at ease from the moment we entered. In short, for me and my family it was certainly the best experience in a restaurant we have ever had, both from a culinary point of view and for the experience itself, truly another story.
