06/04/2026: I was there recently for lunch, and I have to say I can't wait to go back. The first courses were excellent, made with top-notch ingredients, which was reflected in the kind of flavor that, unfortunately, is increasingly rare to find. The preparation was also practically perfect. The highlight of the meal, however, were the crescentine with cured meats. Especially the cured meats and cheeses. There's a shop next door that sells gourmet products, including top-quality cured meats and cheeses, sourced from top-quality local producers (it's a passion of the owner). And you can taste the difference compared to the typical crescentine place that serves cured meats that all taste the same (or almost). This quality of the ingredients, among other things, makes the quality/price ratio truly excellent. The wine selection also seems interesting, although not extensive. The place is an osteria, so not an elegant or sophisticated restaurant, but the atmosphere is in keeping with the type of place: clean and well-presented, with well-placed tables and, despite the small space, not too crowded (a tad too crowded for my taste, but still acceptable, considering there were only two of us, so another table for two next door was almost inevitable). Even though it was crowded and there was a large table, it wasn't too noisy, especially since the food is so good that by the time it arrives, you're busy eating. As I said, I can't wait to go back, and this time I'll just order the crescentine and cured meats. Not because the first courses aren't worth it, but because I want to enjoy the cured meats better.

27/02/2026: Carefully selected ingredients, expertly crafted cured meats, and a genuine, bygone atmosphere. Definitely try the gnocchi with mutton ragù, a rare dish. Follow the host's instructions. A round of applause!

04/04/2026: Very well-kept and beautifully decorated, as soon as you arrive, your attention is captured by the undisputed stars of the evening: the restaurant's cats! These very friendly kitties are fun to play with and use the gadgets available around the place! The menu is varied and full of vegetarian and vegan options, and you can enjoy excellent drinks! We thank Valentina again for her attention, welcome, and hospitality, and also for being a wonderful person, a pleasure to chat with and who takes care of her cats with love! 02/04/2026: A very nice café with delicious hot chocolate and coffee. The cakes and tiramisu are also great. But the best thing is the five cats. You hardly get a chance to eat or drink because they constantly want to sit on your castle... 😅 There are also lots of board games if you're in the mood. The service is very nice and friendly. A real recommendation if you like any of the things mentioned above (or several 😆). Check it out!

03/12/2025: Everything was perfect, the service was very attentive. The room is small, so it can get a bit noisy when it's full. The dishes were all very well prepared and tasty (the pesto alla trapanese was absolutely unmissable).

29/11/2025: A great experience. We had classic Trapani couscous and the pasta with sardines was exceptional! The second course, octopus, was also perfectly cooked with a sauce that takes you back home. The staff were friendly and helpful.

21/10/2025: Excellent seafood restaurant. The waitresses are knowledgeable and friendly. It's a pleasant conversation with the owner. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. Excellent value. Highly recommended...remember to book several days in advance!

19/10/2025: A small seafood restaurant in a beach resort. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, using a simple method to enhance rather than overwhelm the freshness of the fish—sea bream in our case. The chitarra alle vongole was cooked beautifully al dente. The dish was truly traditional and delicious, thanks to a very flavorful sauce, and I chose to accompany it with a pleasant local Cococciola. The staff, truly exquisitely courteous, had butter gnocchi made on the spot (I know, butter doesn't sound right!) for our little girl. Despite the price of the dish itself, they were very good. Even the fries, which I usually don't eat and only taste in passing, were quite good for the other kids. The waitresses, as already mentioned, were truly kind, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. The manager was also truly friendly and courteous. For anyone passing through Ortona and enjoying fish and seafood, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal at Doppia Vela.

06/04/2026: It is a place in full Dolomite style, welcoming and elegant with scented wood everywhere. The cuisine is truly of a high standard, from the appetizers to the first courses, which are very well prepared and super original, second courses that you would like to try them all and you never regret the choice, desserts that are typical of the area and very well prepared. Obviously, even for wines there are no problems finding the one to your taste. The service is fast and courteous, they are energetic and kind guys who make you feel really good. Congratulations and keep it up!

19/04/2026: Very good and creamy gelato, with often-changing, unique and sophisticated flavors. The price is a bit high, but the quality is very good.

01/04/2026: Returning from an excursion to Mount Etna, we stopped for a short break in Bronte and found this pastry shop that truly lives up to its name: courtesy and kindness. I can honestly say that I've eaten the best arancini in Sicily here—a truly delicious treat filled with pistachio, cheese, and ham, served perfectly piping hot—special! Plus, a delicious pistachio gelato, served in a fresh shortcrust pastry basket and accompanied by a small glass of coffee garnished with cream and pistachio. The lemon granita was also delicious, fresh and thirst-quenching, a unique flavor experience. I recommend everyone stop by, even for a quick break, to try the specialties made at this pastry shop. 15/04/2026: It was a rainy Wednesday, but we found the sun again. The spaghetti with clams was superb, and the fried shrimp and calamari were finger-licking delicious (super dry and super soft, a sign of skill and freshness). The staff was always friendly and helpful.

15/04/2026: A lovely place and very welcoming and friendly staff. Very attentive service throughout: the cover charge includes bread, a cloth napkin, a glass, and a chalice. Good quality food, freshly prepared by the chef. I had an excellent seafood menu: linguine allo scoglio and mixed fried seafood (with fish, not just calamari and shrimp). The restaurant also has a wood-fired oven, so I recommend trying the pizzas, which I've yet to try. Highly recommended!
