We recently celebrated a family gathering for 15 people before my son’s wedding, and Nico and his incredible staff absolutely outdid themselves. The food was exceptional — every course was full of flavor, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of joy; everyone enjoyed every single minute of being there. I’ve known Nico for over 20 years, and he continues to be the best manager of any restaurant we’ve visited in Florence. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to every detail make every experience at Osteria dell’Olio special. He and his team made our entire group feel so welcome and cared for. Beyond the amazing food, what truly made the evening unforgettable was Nico himself. He does his job with his whole heart, and it shows in every interaction. His warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness turned a wonderful meal into a night we will never forget. ❤️ This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars. My family and I will always return whenever we visit Florence — it truly feels like home thanks to Nico and his outstanding team. 12/11/2025: Really nice restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were kind, and the food was excellent — especially the pasta and desserts. Prices are fair, and everything felt relaxed and comfortable. The toilet was clean, though it could be a bit better. Overall, a great place that I’d definitely recommend to others.

09/11/2025: A very cozy restaurant with excellent cuisine. They took our steak's cooking preferences into account—we asked for it well done because our child was eating it—and the meat was tender and delicious. The anchovy pasta and meat platter were also excellent. The service was fast, and the atmosphere was wonderful.

08/11/2025: Typical Italian food. We were served promptly. The dishes were exquisite. I recommend the cuttlefish with Genoa sauce and sweet onion. A great choice for a first course. The atmosphere was family-friendly, and the waiters were very warm and professional. The only thing was that it was a weekend, so the restaurant was packed and a bit noisier than I'd like. Everything else was fantastic.

06/11/2025: Ristorante Underground lives up to its name: nestled in a vaulted stone cellar, it offers an intimate and unique atmosphere. The menu features local dishes with a modern twist, all beautifully presented and delicious. The service is attentive and warm, contributing to a relaxed ambiance. I ordered an excellent pan-seared fish fillet in a crust: the waiter told me it was monkfish, but I think it was actually sea bass. The price is reasonable for the area, especially considering the unique setting and the quality of the ingredients.

The dishes are of exceptional quality, the service is excellent, and the wine recommendations are given with genuine expertise. The wine selection is incredible, especially since one of the servers is a winemaker himself! Highly recommended!

01/11/2025: A fantastic experience at this wine bar with a kitchen. They found us a table even though they were full and served us very quickly. They helped us choose a great local wine, and the food was delicious. Special mention for the magic mushroom 😍 All this with great friendliness and an excellent soundtrack!

The sea bass is delicious, as are the very fresh fried anchovies, and the flag fish stuffed with escalope, pine nuts, and raisins. Highly recommended for enjoying typical dishes of the Amalfi Coast. 09/10/2025: A charming restaurant with a charming setting and excellent service. However, the quantities don't match the prices. The same goes for the food, which isn't the best in town, and for €14, the pasta with ragout was served like a school cafeteria meal. I don't recommend it.

30/11/2025: Pizzas with spectacular dough. I'd perhaps just suggest adding a few more ingredients to allow for more pizza variations. The atmosphere is welcoming, with walls decorated with wooden slats and tables covered in writing (perhaps I didn't appreciate this; I would have preferred a plain table).

10/11/2025: I went there yesterday for the first time.... super-topped pizza, excellent quality raw materials, crispy and well-cooked pizza "not burnt", I practically ate after 10 minutes of arriving, super fast... polite staff, very clean place.

14/09/2025: Excellent...because excellent is an understatement...it's become our favorite restaurant. In the photo, fried calamari with zucchini...tender Angus steak...crusty pizza...sublime pistachio cheesecake...the staff is courteous and helpful. The place is spotless. Go visit them, you won't regret it.

13/09/2025: I'll start by saying I can't comment on the quality of the food because, after waiting about 20 minutes to order, we were told we'd have to wait at least 45 minutes for the pizzas we were supposed to order, and were told to order appetizers we didn't want. Obviously, we had no choice but to get up and leave. Since most of the customers were there for the pizza, I'd recommend either increasing the number of pizza chefs or reducing the number of tables.

03/11/2025: We stumbled upon Locanda Viola by chance, a bit rushed and not quite knowing what to expect... and yet it was a wonderful discovery! From the first moment, they made us feel at home, welcome guests, and pampered down to the smallest detail. Unfortunately, we were short on time and had to grab a quick lunch due to other commitments, but we immediately decided we'd definitely be back: not only to leisurely savor the excellent cuisine, but also to enjoy the meticulous service and genuine kindness of the staff. It was a true pleasure to stumble upon this place, and from now on, it will be one of our go-to restaurants in the area. Thank you for pampering us so well, even in a quick visit!

The dishes are excellent, the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant, thanks to the kindness and gentleness of the owner who serves in the dining room, and the expertise and attention to detail of the chef and owner in the kitchen. 09/11/2025: A hidden spot in the heart of the Langhe, its location means it's not crowded with tourists. Authentic. Genuine. Comfortable. The tables and location give you a homey feel. Equally authentic food. Typical grandmother's dishes. Decent portions. Excellent prices. Exceptional quality. Menu of the day for €35 with 1 appetizer, 1 first course, 1 second course, 1 dessert. Everything delicious. The starter tartare was fantastic.

22/10/2025: Simple but very welcoming atmosphere, a view of the Langhe, good wine, and delicious traditional Piedmontese food with a modern twist. The Fassona tartare, the Russian salad, and the veal with tuna sauce are excellent, as are the ravioli al vin (wine ravioli), and the Langa Milanese (the others are too, but these are my favorites!). The owner is always kind and helpful. I recommend calling and making a reservation, even if you're a couple: even though it's in a small town, it's very popular. It's a place worth discovering!
