There's a subtle but important difference in a restaurant between eating well and feeling well all-round. The latter encompasses the former, but also requires the ability to offer a pleasant, meaningful, and memorable experience—something unfortunately rare in the high-end restaurant scene, which is often a bit cold and overly formal. Giulia and her team gave us just that, contributing with excellence to the extraordinary work of the kitchen, impeccable and culturally kaleidoscopic, so much so that our dinner was special. Two suggestions, almost formal rather than substantive: I'd put a little more attention to the mise en bouche, which could better anticipate the deliciousness that came later, and a shoutout to the chef, which is always a nice gesture to pay tribute to someone who worked so well. Upon arrival, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and great courtesy. The place is beautiful, decorated in a vintage style with splendid 1970s modern furniture. The tables are few and well-spaced, ensuring plenty of privacy, while soft background music accompanies the experience at just the right volume.
The tasting menu was carefully explained to us and took into account my significant allergy, demonstrating great customer care. The wine selection was also excellent.
The entire experience was a continuous discovery, capable of taking us to different countries around the world without ever losing sight of the quality and excellence of the ingredients.
It was a truly memorable experience, which I highly recommend to anyone looking for something special.

A gastronomic journey around the world
It's not just a tasting menu. It's an itinerary.
At Locanda Viola, chef Filippo creates a journey that crosses continents, techniques, and culinary influences, always maintaining balance and identity. The feeling is that of sitting down at the table and setting off. Each dish is a stage.
We begin in Piedmont with a 100% Pinot Noir classic method sparkling wine from Cascina Galletto, Alta Langa. An elegant and vertical wine, perfect for pairing with entrées.
Among these, Empanadas Chilena with scamorza sorrentina cheese, shrimp, and coriander and cumin mayonnaise. Latin comfort food reinterpreted with great technique.
The journey continues with Inama's Vulcaia Sauvignon, which accompanies a refined fish dumpling filled with mussels, sea bass, and shrimp with soy chutney, raw Mazara red shrimp, and scallop.
We then travel to Oceania with the NZ Seafood Chowder, a New Zealand curry-infused soup with mussels, sea bass, prawns, and smoked swordfish. Paired with a surprising Pinot Noir Côte d’Or from Burgundy, a bold yet perfectly executed choice.
From Thailand comes the Thai Beef Salad with marinated Simmenthal fillet, Thai dressing, sesame, and peanuts, accompanied by a vibrant and sharp Alto Adige Riesling.
Then India takes us on a journey with creamy Butter Chicken served with naan bread and an aromatic and enveloping Gewürztraminer from Alsace.
The finale is Churros with dulce de leche paired with ApiAnae, a sweet wine rich in honey and dried fruit. The experience concludes with an elegant Cihuatán Sahumerio rum.
Welcoming us in the dining room is Giulia, the chef's wife and the perfect hostess. Competent, friendly, and able to guide you with great ease.

We tried the "Our Journey" tasting menu, featuring six courses chosen by the chef. The food had influences from around the world. Everything was refined and delicious.
A very welcoming place and highly recommended for couples.
The service was excellent.
One small flaw: they ran out of the dessert I wanted to try.

I went last night with friends. The menu was unique and interesting, with very good, flavorful, and well-balanced dishes. Attentive service, a very well-maintained venue, and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes. Highly recommended, even if you're not in the area.
