08/12/2025: The place is very small, charming, and well-kept, giving it a very homey feel: we sat on the veranda, and it was very comfortable, enclosed, without any drafts. To start, we had an appetizer for two, which included meatballs and parmigiana, as well as other items. They were all delicious, not the usual appetizer of cured meats and cheeses, but delicious and filling. The highlights were definitely the first courses: both the trofie with chickpeas, walnuts, dried tomatoes, and saffron, and the buffalo mozzarella-filled ravioli with ragù were excellent. We would have liked to try the second courses as well, but we were already very full and only had room for dessert: an apple tart and an orange and caramel tiramisu. The latter surprised me, not too sweet and fresh. To finish, they offered complimentary wine-flavored biscuits. The two young men serving were very kind. The final price was €62, absolutely more than fair for what we ate and the portions. We will definitely be back.

19/11/2025: We left home in a storm, but fearlessly we decided to continue and reached Sorrento, where we stopped. Continuing along the road that leads to Massa Lubrense, we were hungry, and after a bend, a sign called "Il Nastro d'Oro" (Golden Ribbon) was there, so we decided to stop. Luckily, the view was breathtaking: Capri is within touching distance. The owner, Francesco, is courteous, knowledgeable, and, above all, passionate about his work. You can tell he takes great care in preparing his dishes... Exceptional, I won't tell you exactly what it is, because you'll have to discover it by going there. And what can I say about Enrico, the owner's son: polite, professional, and eager to please. It was a special day celebrating the birthday of a dear friend of ours. If you're passing by, stop by! It will be an experience you'll treasure in your memories.

19/11/2025: To me, A’Marenna is the best place for sandwiches and salads in Sorrento—not only for the food, but also for the staff and the vibe! They have so many choices that it was hard to decide, since I liked so many toppings. I tried the panuozzo and the No.5 salad. Even though I’m not usually a fish lover, the tuna fillet was excellent—paired with cheese, almonds, apples, and greens, it offered layers of flavour and texture. I loved it so much that I ordered the same sandwich two days in a row! We ordered quite a lot: each salad comes with bread, and we also had a salad and a sandwich each. The staff wondered if we could finish everything, and we did—it became our dinner that day and breakfast the next morning. The staff were very friendly and chatted with us while preparing the food. One of them shared her love for Florence when I mentioned my upcoming trip, and when I returned the next day, they still remembered us despite serving so many customers daily. That made us feel really welcome. I also had a nice conversation with one of the staff about her holiday plans. She mentioned wanting to visit Tanzania but was concerned about the situation there. I truly hope she has a wonderful and safe journey—she deserves a relaxing holiday after such a busy tourist season.

08/12/2025: Love at first sight! We stopped by chance after seeing the Lights of Salerno. We were immediately struck by the quality of the ingredients and the authentic products. It's not easy to find a place that, especially during the holidays, pays attention to their customers and fulfills every request. The owners were incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. It will be a regular stop as soon as we return to Salerno. Highly recommended!

27/11/2025: This cozy café near my house is one of the best places you can ever go. From breakfast to brunch, everything is excellent, as is the impeccable and friendly attitude of the staff. For almost four years, every time I've come here, the first thing that strikes you is the respectful attitude, warm welcome, and constant smiles of the employees, which truly brighten your day. The warm croissants, in every possible variety, accompanied by delicious coffee, are a real pleasure. The fresh sandwiches and all the other options are made in-house. Even though the café is often crowded, you can always find a seat without waiting, so you can sit in peace and enjoy the moment. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, a huge plus. And above all, the owner is a very respectful, kind, and professional young man; the staff is always polite, helpful, and very welcoming. I highly recommend visiting this café. 🫶🏻😊👍🏻

16/12/2025: My husband and I are so passionate about Il Merlo that we chose it as the venue for our wedding reception. They were as helpful as they always have been over the years we've been dining there. Chef Elisa, Silvia in the dining room, and the entire staff are highly professional but also deeply sensitive. This is evident in the way they cook, serve, and address guests, and especially in the patience and helpfulness with which they supported us in planning our wedding. We couldn't have chosen a better location, a place that feels like family to us.

We ordered three main courses and three side dishes: everything was truly delicious, well-cooked, and carefully presented. The wine cellar is excellent, with a wide and high-quality selection, perfect for those who enjoy a fine glass of wine with their meal. The service was impeccable: the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. The interior also deserves special mention: very charming and welcoming, ideal for a pleasant and relaxed lunch. A place we recommend without hesitation!

10/12/2025: We booked to celebrate our aunt's 98th birthday. A milestone that deserved a peaceful lunch, not an exercise in patience. We sat down at 12:40. A waiter (kind, it must be said) approached with a bottle in his hand, in what seemed like a welcoming gesture. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. We'll discuss it again at the checkout. At 12:50, they asked if we were ready to order. Too bad no one had informed us of the existence of a QR code—which is transparent, by the way. We ordered at 1:00 PM. My uncle was late, and we asked to move the order forward without taking his. We repeated this to both the waiter and the owner, who came to verify the situation. At 2:00 PM—an hour later—my mother politely asked the owner for an explanation. His response: "Look around, there are other tables." A lesson in empathy. At 2:20 PM, the dishes arrived. I had ordered two children's menus: plain pasta with cutlet and fries, and tomato pasta with cutlet and fries. Two girls, three and six, waited an hour and twenty minutes for a plate of pasta. In any minimally organized restaurant, children's dishes get priority. It's common sense: small children can't wait like adults; they're served first. Not here. Meanwhile, my daughters had stuffed themselves with bread, and when the food finally arrived, they weren't hungry anymore. And how did it arrive? All on the same plate: pasta, cutlet, and fries (if it had been written on the menu, we would have asked for them to be brought separately; it's not normal to bring three dishes at once, after all). So, while they finished the pasta, the cutlet had plenty of time to cool. A nice touch. And the food itself? Nothing memorable—except for my brother's tagliata, the only noteworthy dish. The rest were just plain old dishes. After an hour and twenty minutes of waiting, you'd at least expect something to justify the time wasted. But no. The main courses arrive at 2:45 PM. Speaking of the bill: those two bottles with such a polite initial gesture? 42 euros each. A rather steep "welcome." The waiters, I repeat, were courteous. The problem isn't them. The problem is a service that turns a meal into an exhausting wait, dishes that arrive without logic, and an owner who, faced with obvious inconvenience, chooses justification over apology. We won't be returning. Our aunt's birthday was saved by the company, certainly not by the experience. And at 98, frankly, she deserved better. I edited the review because a few things actually needed to be clarified. I made a mistake; the cheek had indeed been removed. Nor did I point out that we had asked for the order to be moved forward. Twice. Fair is fair.
